So rather than rambly twitter threads, I'm going to do all my dwarf posting over here. I think that's nominally what I made my first tumblr account for back in the day, how nostalgic~

Anyway, current happenings of my fort under the cut.

So, I'm on my 3rd fort since the game came out. Thing are going a lot better since generating a low savagery world, much fewer giant agitated birds killing children. We're a little short on labor at the moment, but the basics of housing, farming, and industry are coming up. We even have a little display hall for our artifacts!

I tend to get really grid-brained when laying rooms out, but the roundish rooms make it easier on the eyes, I think.

Anyway, the current matter of interest in the fort is our party of monster hunters

Ever since we found the the caverns, the fort has been inundated with petitions for monster-slayers-in-residence. They were set up in the basement with their own quarters and dining halls, and preparations for a fortified cavefront were made.

Our dwarves have been slowly loading the stone traps, enjoying(?) the distant sounds of troglodytes wrestling with cave crocodiles. Its nearly time to dig into the cave proper and let our party of monster slayers loose, however, I was slightly distracted by the announcement of the birth of a human child.

Turns out, one of the monster hunters came to our fort pregnant! Her daughter doesn't have either her mother or father's last names, instead, being named, I can only assume, for the fort she was born in.

Sarvesh Temptbasements, yours is an auspicious birth.
