I think it’s easy to miss because we’re in Neil’s head for the first three books and NEIL misses it but Aaron actually loves Andrew SO MUCH. Just as much as Andrew loves him. And it’s there in canon, in writing, it’s just that Neil doesn’t pick up on it

No because this is so real yall don't GET it. They both had NO ONE for the majority of their lives. No one to laugh with no one to share their pain no one that understood what was happening to them. And then suddenly Aaron could have that and wanted it so badly that even after being told no he still tried. He wanted a friend and a brother. And even tho Andrew was hostile, Aaron had nothing to base sibling behavior off of.

don't know what's been going on in the aftg fandom lately, but in all the years I've been a part of it, I've NEVER seen so many defenders and so many disgusting, stupid people romanticizing Riko. Seriously, guys, what kind of worm is eating away at these people's brains? It's fucking disgusting to bring up this idea that at some point he and Kevin were really like brothers or acting as if their relationship could have been healthy in some way. Aaaaa, I'm going crazy, I swear i'm going to starr hittin people

I have to agree with this. Like I understand he can be an interesting character to people. I understand it but I don't like it. But people going as far as to change him in their headcanons to be a more tolerable human being to justify them liking him is actually so dissapointing.

Obviously you can like villain characters but there are actually people going about it like "oh he's my baby girl" like??? Are we for real? He is an abuser, he tortured Neil and killed Seth and hired someone to fuck up Andrew. He wasn't tricked into doing these things, he did them willingly and without hesitation. I get the whole "Oh but he was raised by a Moriama so of course he thinks thats okay, he would have been different outside the nest" need I remind you that Kevin and him had the same fucking life and Kevin, with all his flaws, is NOTHING like Riko. Riko does it for the sick thrill he gets from hurting people. He ORDERED the ravens to do what they did to Jean.

Why are we okay with people liking him, not because he is a well written villain, but because they wanna act like he isn't a bad person?? This is the equivalent to an influencer in real life abusing his girlfriend and everyone calling her a slut and taking his side because they think he's hot. Like people wake UP and stop idolizing abusers, fictional or not.

I don't really mind if you think his character is neat and wanna study his brain to see how he ticks but please don't romanticize him and try to erase all the bad shit he did just because of who he was raised by.

Can we just for once let a villain character be a villain character, be a bad person, be a disgusting lowlife human, without trying to redeem them? He wasn't made to be redeemed or liked so can we please just leave it like that?

And if you are someone who likes him the same way you would like Neil or Renee or any other character in AFTG I actually would like to know why, I wanna hear your argument for this because I genuinely can't understand why people would choose him to be one of their favorite characters when I was on the edge of my seat screaming with joy when he wasn't gonna be a problem anymore.

Saw iron lung on Monday and I gotta say, I'd love to see Neil Josten put in that submarine. Yes this is partially from the fact that Simon is apparently called the butcher, but also they both give me the same vibe

i can't stop thinking about that scene in the beginning where simon is at the control panel and that shadowy figure darts off to the side where the computer is. and then parallel to that scene towards the end where simon is at the back of the sub and looks over to the control panel and sees that horrific (almost humanoid?) creature with too many teeth sitting in the chair and simon quickly darts over to hide by the computer almost like what that shadowy figure did in that earlier scene

idk maybe i'm still iswm pilled but that felt like some eldritch time loop shit. or simon literally seeing himself for the monster he is (or thinks himself to be)? or both???

YES i pointed this out to my bf in the theater literally as soon as he saw the monster "look look it's a parallel to earlier", i love the idea that it's him seeing himself as the monster he thinks he is in BOTH scenes, but us getting a closer look at the monster in the chair being closer to the "you want the butcher? fine." scene is MWAH chefs kiss
