me and this random couple are going to see sinners this friday
Everyone wish me luck on my date today I’m so nervous what if they don’t like me…
You show up and Michael B Jordan is sitting in both seats.
☝️only funny addition so far. I’m actually shocked nobody else thought of that yet
you literally have to unironically listen to some shit like party rock anthem so you don’t kill yourself
"oh, I live in a desert and-"
"wow that must be so terrible" "deserts are so ugly" "I would never want to live in a wasteland like that" "it's just empty nothingness"
wishing 10,000 exploding hammers upon you
behold New Mexico

ID 4: colorful hoodoos against a twilight sky
ID 5: white sand dunes as far as the eye can see
ID 6: a collection of hoodoos against a stormy sky at sunset
ID 7: a juniper tree standing with a cliff wall in the background

this post and all its wonderful additions (look in the notes) is circulating again. these photos and many of the ones added in the notes come from the US Southwest.
right now the trump administration is attacking the public lands in the Southwestern US. most recently (July 2026), in Utah the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments have been cut by over 90% to allow for mining. these lands are sacred to multiple Native nations in the area and contain irreplaceable archeological sites. additionally, the commission of Native representatives who aided in management of these lands has been dissolved leaving Native people without a voice in caring for the remaining land. (read more here)
here in New Mexico, the 10 mile buffer zone surrounding Chaco Canyon preventing oil and gas drilling is under attack. Chaco Canyon contains incredibly old and incredibly fragile archeological sites sacred to Pueblo people. these sites are threatened by mining and drilling. (read more here)
The attack on the Chaco buffer zone is currently in a public comment period open until July 29. PLEASE leave a public comment to save these irreplaceable places.
some people have cut this addition off of their reblogs and quite frankly that's disturbing.
you can't appreciate the desert and also erase the fact that these places are under attack.
and I'd even say it's downright racist. this isn't "just" the desert, these are sacred locations to multiple Native nations and they are under attack because they are sacred to many Native people. the least you can do is reblog to raise awareness to the attacks on these lands. there is no going back from mining and drilling. there is no way to repair these ancient archeological sites when the vibrations in the ground topple them and when they are bulldozed.
submitting a public comment is the absolute bare minimum you can do and if you can't be assed to write 1 sentence saying you don't support removing the Chaco buffer zone then at least leave the reblog encouraging other people to do so attached.
Johnny Eck was a performer from the 1930s who was born without any legs:
He's primarily known for appearing in the 1932 cult classic Freaks directed by Tod Browning.
However what I'm mostly obsessed with is this account of a magic trick he did with his non-disabled twin brother (text under the cut)
Like this is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Can you imagine
Easily one of the top 5 funniest things you can do as an identical twin
I like to bring him up when talking at the museum about sideshow stars who were genuinely brilliant performers.
Get in loser, we’re going back to Fall 2004 🍂🤎
okay this makes me feel like an ancient hag to say, but i was thinking some younger listeners to wolf 359 might not know of this: "the artist formerly known as warren kepler" isn't something he came up with, it's a reference to prince (the singer) who changed his name to an unpronounceable glyph for a bit, so no one knew what to call him and everyone started saying "the artist formerly known as prince".
now i personally didn't think there was anything further to this. oh kepler made a pop culture reference, fun. he likes funk, sure he likes prince! but then i looked up "the artist formerly known as prince" just out of idle curiosity and turns out what i didn't know is that prince didn't change his name out of eccentricity or as an artistic expression but because he was in a legal dispute with warner brothers who had trademarked "Prince™". which was the man's legal name and not a pseudonym. and so when he split from wb, they disallowed him to perform under his own legal name. it is a true story of a man being held captive by a corporation so thoroughly, his very identity no longer feels like, no longer is his own. so yeah, the artist formerly known as warren kepler. goddard really had that man in a gorilla grip
They say ooooh be a good boy for daddy and you'll get a reward. But then the reward is just gay sex. This is bullshit. I wanted a skateboard
Then they say if you're a bad boy daddy will punish you. But what's the punishment? More gay sex! You can't escape it. This whole damn place is in the pocket of Big Sex
everything is okay
i live here

I finished this painting last night. The world has been a lot lately, and I live painting places to escape to for a while. Somewhere hidden, cosy, peaceful...
I refuse to ever apologize for art.
Fucking dire, man. If this isn't a call to action to stomp your consumerist urges and return to the DIY days of yore, I don't know what is.
Festive friends, I implore you. You don't need this stuff. There's a dozen reasons you don't need to buy this kind of mass produced seasonal decor and AI creeping into it is just the newest reason. Consider instead a) buying from reputable/independent/local artists, b) thrifting/buying vintage or c) just making it yourself. There is nothing I would love more than seeing a mass rejection of AI usher in a new DIY art/arts and crafts movement.
draw that woman with tummy hair it's good for you
like on a literal mental health level I literally think regularly acknowledging women naturally DO have body hair is good for you. don't let the beauty industry take you for a ride. don't let them decide what women look like
Googled something about quick hydration and it suggested big jug of water, couple tbsp pickle juice, dash of lime juice.
Its surprisingly tasty????
Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.
-ancient roman posca: water, red or white wine vinegar, honey, salt, herbs (coriander, mint, thyme)
-switchel: water, ginger, vinegar, sweetener, lemon, salt
-ayran: yogurt, water, salt, mint
-Agua pepino: water, cucumbers, lime, sugar, optional mint.
I have been reminded of:
-shrub: vinegar, sida water, elderberry (or other berry), sugar.
I have now been informed of
-sekanjabin: honey, vinegar, mint, water.
"Wow, I wonder why this post was popular this week."
-sees the reports of the heatwave in Europe-

vaginal infections, utis, and extreme ph imbalances are no fucking joke. please wash your goddamn hands before you stick your fingers in someone
100%, and in case anyone was unsure - this applies to transfems who have had vaginoplasty/vulvoplasty as well! safer sex and hygiene applies just as much to neogenitals
