I read a theory that the reason Dain’s signet is retrocognition is because he never knew what his mom was like, especially since General Aetos would never talked about her…

…maybe, instead of wanting the power to interrogate, to know everything, all he wanted was the ability to see her.

I think the missing riders along with Xaden and Garrick are Bodhi and Aaric.

Bodhi’s with Xaden because they’re now both Venin and are under sage command.

Bodhi would still be an initiate, but I think Xaden’s sage will use Bodhi as blackmail to get Xaden to train (the more Xaden channels, the less Bodhi will have to)

Garrick is out with the missing dragon eggs to the Dunne isle to barter, after Aaric had a vision that they needed their army to win.

Aaric is back in his father’s palace, trying to convince the king to do/not do something, also after a vision of the future.

Violet is lowkey an unreliable narrator, especially in terms of how badass she is. I’m rereading IF right now and am on the scene where they’re hiking with the flyers, and girlie really:

almost got shoved completely off a cliff by a flyer she was trying to help,

had to hold two people from free falling off said cliff,

lost one of the people she was trying to save,

dislocated her shoulder,

got blamed for the flyer’s death by her man’s bitchy ass ex-girlfriend who both has it out for her and major political standing,

watched a healthy gryphon die triggering her (unresolved) emotions of Liam’s death,

watched Ridoc get shot in the chest,

gets her shoulder put back in,

and then proceeded to fight off 4 wyvern?

Girl? All of this likely took place in the span of 10 minutes.

In a place known to kill cadets left and right? Where professors do nothing to stop it? This is what an actual teacher would do - train, and keep them safe while they do.

It’s not just Xaden, it’s all of the marked ones. The way Garrick and Bodhi counter signets, keep cadets safe and go head to head w Carr. The way Imogen trains marked ones including Sloane….I love them
