— A Writeblr Reintroduction
ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Kendall (also found at my art blog @lostximagination or my personal @ttorturedpoetsdepartment). I hate my old intro so I remade it. Don’t mind me.
I’m twenty six years old, white, autistic and genderqueer. My pronouns are they/them.
I’m a part time college student while also working part time to pay for that without student loans. I basically always write some kind of fantasy; writing magic stuff is my jam, but I love all kinds of speculative fiction.
I also do a lot of interconnected stories that exist in the same universe because the world building that comes with it is so much fun, and creates new stories on it’s own.
Almost all of my main characters are queer to some degree, and many of them are neurodivergent!
Also also basically everything I write is released under the Shared Open Universe License (link on blog) because I believe no one person should have complete control over an idea.
FINISHED WORKS
Sparks: [ links in reblogs because tumblr is dumb about putting posts with links in tags ]
Twenty year old Issac Riley has grown up within a secret magical society, but the last thing he ever would have expected was for a girl from his non-magical college to be struck by lightning in front of him… and for her to turn out to be magical too, and for her to turn his whole life upside down, being tied to centuries old history in his family, which pushes him to reevaluate everything he’s ever known.
Anna Kahale didn’t know a thing about any magical society until she was struck by lightning. She was a perfectly ordinary nineteen year old girl, in Seattle for college. So strange occurrences following her everywhere after she was struck is extremely frustrating, and having to rely on a near stranger in Issac is not her favorite thing in the world… even if he is nice. But he’s infuriatingly mysterious, and she’d really rather her life go back to normal.
ACTIVE WORKS
Storms [direct sequel to Sparks]:
It’s hard to cope with the damage done by the Witch Hunter, Kevin Anderson, let alone the new responsibilities Issac has had thrust upon him. His life is falling apart around him. At the same time a world ending threat from centuries past is returning, but he just can’t deal with it. At least not alone.
Anna is still very new to the world of magic, but she’s very aware of the threat facing them and the entire mage community, and is trying to do everything to handle this herself, if Issac can’t.
Eyes Wide Open + it’s sequels:
Lucian Darnell was never a normal teenager, with his family's dark past hanging over him, and the demon attached to his soul tormenting him in an attempt to gain control of his body, but...
His life goes from bad to infinitely worse when another teenager dies, and he's the one to discover her body. With no memory of how he got there.
Terrified that he may have been the culprit, Lucian sets out to solve the case, if to just prove to himself that he's innocent, and he finds himself face to face with his family's past as the roots of this one death go much deeper than he ever imagined.
Sleepless + it’s sequel:
Ilario and Iecilia Heart were born in the magical world of Dreamland, as the Prince and Princess of the Heart Court in their home, but they were young children when everything went wrong. Their mother, the Queen, was killed by her own sister, Adriel, in a coup, and the two of them barely escaping with their bodyguard.
There was nowhere safe for them in Dreamland, as the Heart Court is the strongest of all the courts, and Adriel will stop at nothing to kill them, since they’re a threat to her position on the throne, and so they have to flee to another plane entirely, Earth.
More than a century later, Ilario and Iecilia are equivalently teenagers, and Adriel is closer to finding them than ever before.
Returning home would be beyond dangerous, and they’ve never even considered it a possibility, even as the threat from Adriel looms over them.
Lia doesn’t ever want to go back. She doesn’t even remember her home, and barely remembers her parents. She’s safe and happy on Earth, and the idea of having to go home and face her birthright as Queen and the murderous intent of her aunt terrifies her.
In contrast to that, Ilario remembers their home and their parents, and yearns to return, despite his own share of fears and insecurities. He longs to see his home again and free the people from Adriel’s reign. There are things on Earth he hates to leave behind, but that homesickness has never left him.
The choice is made for them by Adriel, as she leaves them no choice but to return to end her reign, or die trying.
Foggy Press Radio
Fogridge, California is small town, but their high school paper has a local radio show, and that is run by Liz Mason. Liz seen as a bit of an oddball in her town, seeing conspiracy and the supernatural around every corner, but could she be right? Something has never been quite right about Fogridge, and strange happenings seem to follow Liz wherever she goes. With Liz in her school radio show is the voice of reason and her adoptive brother Noah and another girl, Haley Greene.
The rest of the Shadowed Dreams Setting:
Shadowed Dreams is one of those interconnected settings I mentioned before, which includes Sparks & Storms as well. It’s.. like... a lot. A lot more than the others. I’ve talked about it at length. Link in the reblogs.
