about my work
i have three main WIPs that i shift my focus between: wizard novel, vampire novel, and alchemist novel. i typically don't name projects until they're complete.
wizard novel is a grand-scale dark fantasy trilogy with a setting inspired by medieval scandinavia about two men, a misanthropic elven mage and an aimless aging warrior, who are sucked into a conspiracy that forces them to reckon with legacies of violence, their places in a society that discards them, and ultimately what they're willing to sacrifice for the potential of a better world.
vampire novel is a young adult paranormal romance set in a small northern minnesota town in 2009 about a teenage boy who, reeling and isolated after a personal tragedy, meets a strange girl with her own dark past and an obsessive quest to retrieve something from the bottom of the lake.
my greatest influences are the nature writing of robert macfarlane, the fiction of julia fine, katherine addison, and cat valente, fantasy RPGs like dragon age and the elder scrolls, and the films of masaaki yuasa, alex cox, and jane schoenbrun.

🕸️ after a long break from original fiction i’ve FINALLY started to write again - my main genre is romance set from 1985-1999, and can be summarised as ‘bad people doing bad things to each other’
🕸️ outside of writing, i love to reading, hiking barefoot, and alternative fashion. i’m also obsessed with music, which is where i get a lot of my inspiration from - if im not playing music im most likely asleep
🕸️ my current project is nicknamed ‘UNI DAZE’ or ‘The Transmission Verse’ and it’s a loose series focusing on a group of friends navigating mental health, queerness, and choosing the unconventional path against the backdrop of the 80s and 90s. each book focuses on a different relationship in the group, and can be read as a standalone since they don’t follow on from each other, but they can also be read as a series all together.
🕸️ the first book of the verse, SUBSTANCE, is on its second draft, and i’m working on the second and third books as it rests. introductions incoming !!
🕸️ as a writer, i love to explore unconventional romances - or, rather, romances that aren’t usually shown in fiction. i like to write characters that are ugly, characters that are unapologetically bad people, characters that are sick or disabled and aren’t fixed by love… anything that isn’t typical is free game. essentially, i just want to explore as many lives as i can lol.

But without further ado! Hi hello hey howdy good day to all you delightful lovelies, call me Druzy (they/them)! This is the blog that suffers under the barrage of my chaotically on-fire-all-the-time brain children I call "My Ideas".
Watch out for the occasional deluge of overly enthusiastic rambling praise of the absolute splendour of my fellow creatives' work. Disregard the haphazard, makeshift mess of scaffolding that is the headache-inducing overhaul of my various original stories. I'm sure that lopsided, towering pile of queued up reblogs of creative resources (advice, references, inspiration, ask games, etc.!) is perfectly safe, it's just shaking and leaning towards you because it's so excited you're here!
I've got a lot of work to do to update my assorted project pages and introductions, and you can simply forget about any semblance of up-to-date-ed-ness when it comes to the pre-2026 posts on my main story's worldbuilding or character backgrounds. Only a few years later, and my old writing makes me cringe. >:0
Nonetheless! I have left up all those old snippets and elaborative rants to be perused if you feel so inclined, despite my fervent internal pleading for the contrary. Just don't trust anything you read to be accurate to the current plot line I have in my head.
