Your hands were shaking as you stood in front of your father, your boyfriend by your side. The two of you had been dating for a few months now and things were moving quickly, getting more serious than you ever imagined they would be. Seth entered your life at the perfect time and the two of you were pretty perfect together. There was just one obstacle in your way -- your father.

Seth was already pretty familiar with your father, Dustin. The two had worked together a few years back, so it wasn’t like they had to meet each other all over again. However, your father had never known Seth as your boyfriend before.

And there wasn’t a great track record for him approving of your past boyfriends.

You cleared your throat, deciding to just go ahead and jump on it. “Dad? Uh, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”

He looked up from where he was sitting in his recliner, hands steepled in his lap. “What is it, [Y/N]?” He asked. Your father’s gaze shifted over to where Seth stood. You think in that moment he realized what was happening, but waited for you to confirm it.

“So, uh, Seth and I are dating now.” You said it as quickly as you could, the words coming out of you so quickly that they all began to run together. Next to you, Seth looked completely uneasy. 

This was something he hadn’t had to face before.

Dustin’s face was unreadable. You knew exactly what it meant. He was trying to process what he had just heard, trying to decide how he felt about it. “Is that so?” He asked, but he was looking at Seth, not at you. “Why don’t you two have a seat so we can have this conversation?” Then he looked at you, “That’s what you wanted, right?”

You swallowed. “Yes sir.” You and Seth took a few steps backwards to the couch, taking a seat. You sat close enough that your thighs were touching. So badly you wanted to reach out and entwine your fingers with his, but you knew you couldn’t. You had to get your father’s approval first.

“What makes you think you’re the right fit for [Y/N]?” Dustin asked Seth.

Seth froze next to you for a moment before clearing his throat and speaking. “We get along very well. We make each other happy. We just work together.”

“You understand you need to do more then ‘work together’ to make a relationship actually work, don’t you?”

You realized that you were just a witness to this conversation now. It was between Seth and your father. Seth nodded. “I realize that, sir. This relationship is still fresh and new. We’re learning day by day about each other, but I think it’s right.”

“Why did you pick [Y/N]? Out of everybody that you could pick, why him?”

Seth looked over at you and flashed you a smile, as if silently telling you not to worry. “To be honest, he’s gorgeous. That’s why I originally picked him, of course. Then, we got to know each other. We like the same things, we share hobbies and enjoy learning about each other. Every day with him feels like an adventure and I want to keep exploring it.”

You couldn’t tell if your father was okay with this relationship or not. He was still unreadable as he looked at Seth. “You seem to be romanticizing this relationship a lot. You have a prettily worded answer for everything, but are you ready for when things aren’t pretty? At the first sign of something ugly, are you going to run?”

Seth didn’t hesitate. He quickly shook his head. “Absolutely not. I know I may be romanticizing things a bit because of how new everything is, but I’m not looking at this with rose-colored glasses. I know things won’t always be this great between me and [Y/N], but I’m willing to deal with that. I’m willing to accept that and work through it.”

Once again, your father was silent. He looked between you and Seth before sighing. “I’m not saying I approve.” His gaze settled on Seth. “You still have to prove yourself to me, Rollins, but I’m not going to fight against this relationship. At least not yet. Is that understandable?”

It wasn’t a lot, but it was enough. At least for now.

i’m super sorry about my recent absence. unfortunately, work is a lot and drains a lot of my creative energy.  truth be told, my writing has been criticized a lot at work recently as well, which dampens my want to write. 

instead of abandoning the blog, i’m going to move to a less frequent posting schedule. it won’t be as in-demand content wise, but it’ll keep things steadily pushed out so i can still write for you guys, since i do love doing it. <33

Today’s the best day of your life. It’s your WWE debut. You’ve been training with your brother for years and it’s all finally paying off. Your match is scheduled for later tonight, so you’re sitting in the back watching your brother, Seth’s match.

The Shield is facing the League of Nations, and so far, everything is going well. They have everyone down; they just need to get someone in the ring to make a pin. Before they can though, Lana gets into the ring. She stands right in front of Seth and slaps him in the face. Your brother looks shocked and takes a step back, away from her.

Lana closes the distance between them and slaps him again, and again. You know your brother won’t put a hand on her.

It’s not your place, you know that, but you can’t stand there and watch. Since you’re already geared up, you run from backstage and down the ramp, sliding into the ring. Nobody in the audience has any idea who you are, but what does that matter?

Before Lana can realize that’s happening, you grab her hair from behind her and throw her to the ground. Without a second thought, you’re on top of her swinging. They wouldn’t put a hand on her, but that doesn’t mean you won’t.

You get off of her and push Lana out of the ring as Seth manages to pin Rusev. The bell rings and The Shield’s hands are raised. You stand off to the side and let them bask in their glory, until Seth reaches out and grabs you.

You expect a lecture, or at least a stern look instead he smiles down at you. “How about being the fourth member, [Y/N]? I think we could use a hand every now and then.” You look over to see Roman and Dean nodding in agreement.

You smile up at him. “Of course.”

You’re lucky that your daughter is as big of a wrestling fan as you are. It makes bonding so much easier. For her birthday, you decided to splurge (even though you knew that you shouldn’t) and bought her front row tickets to the PPV coming to your town.

You’re standing next to her now, watching her with a smile. She’s been lit up since the minute you two walked into the arena. She’s the biggest fan of The Shield, Roman being her absolute favorite. He’s facing Bray Wyatt tonight and if Roman doesn’t win, [D/N] is going to be upset. You have your fingers crossed.

Bray’s music hits and [D/N] instantly starts booing. People around you cheer, but she’s certainly not happy. He makes his entrance, pausing to look at the six-year-old booing him as loudly as possible. When Bray looks at her, [D/N] sticks her tongue out at him.

You think you see him almost smile.

When Roman makes his entrance, your daughter is literally bouncing. She’s grabbing the barricade and using it to hop, doing her best to get a glimpse of him. She’s screaming, you know tomorrow her throat will be raw, but it’ll certainly be worth it.

Once Roman gets to the ring, introductions are made, and the bell is rung. The match starts and it looks like it’s going to be a win for Roman. [D/N]’s eyes are glued to the match, cheering whenever Roman lands a hit and booing whenever Bray strikes back.

In her hands is The Shield sign that you spent all of yesterday helping her make. She really wanted one of the boys to notice it. She keeps waving it around, hoping to catch Roman’s eye.

Bray knocks Roman down and gets out of the ring, walking over to your daughter. He jerks the sign out of her hands and rips it. As a mother, you’re slightly annoyed, but you know he’s playing the part. You expect her to be upset about it, but you’ll buy her a shirt and she’ll be over it. What you don’t expect is for your daughter to reach out and slap Bray across the face.

He looks shocked and before you can apologize, Roman is behind him. He looks at your daughter and smiles. “Thanks for helping me out.” He says, winking at her.

You think your daughter is going to die happy right then and there. When Roman eventually wins the match, you know her night can’t possibly get any better. It was worth every penny.

The show comes to an end and people start to file out of the arena. You and [D/N] wait a bit, knowing traffic is going to be hell. When you start walking out, a man in black comes up to you. “Ma’am, would you and your daughter come backstage with me, please? Someone wants to talk to you.”

“…Sure?” You’re worried Bray is actually upset that [D/N] slapped him.

She looks up at you, confused, and all you can do is shrug in response. The two of you follow him backstage. He stops outside of a closed door and knocks on it, a muted voice says, “Come in.”

The door opens and your daughter screams the minute it happens. Standing inside the room are Seth, Dean and Roman. Without a second thought, [D/N] runs up to Roman and hugs him. He laughs and picks her up, giving her a squeeze back.

“We wanted to thank you for how brave you were tonight. You really helped me win the match.” Roman says when he puts her down. He looks over at you and smiles.

There are tears in your eyes, you feel like you’re going to cry. They’ll never know how much this means to you or your daughter.

You’ve had a rough week at work. Tonight, you just wanted to have a few drinks with your girls and unwind. Somehow though, the group of you ended up separated. With a drink in your hand, you try to navigate your way through the dense crowd. You mutter ‘excuse me’s’ and tap people on the shoulder to try and squeeze your way through without spilling your drink.

You get to a relatively clear spot in the crowd and stand on your tiptoes, trying to see through to find your friends. That’s when you feel a hand brush past your ass. You try to think nothing of it. It’s a crowded club, you probably accidently bumped into a few butts when you were trying to get through.

However, when the brush turns into a grab, you know it’s no accident. Momentarily forgetting about finding your friends, you whip around to see a guy standing there. The grin on his face gives you the creeps. “Hey baby,” He says. “Watcha doin’ here all alone?”

The guy practically screams sleaze. You roll your eyes. “I’m not alone.” You say, looking over your shoulder, praying your friends come save you from this encounter.

“You look pretty alone to me.” He says, taking a step towards you. His hand grabs your hips and he tries to pull you close to him. “Why don’t we go somewhere quiet? I promise to show you a good time.” The guy reeks of cologne and alcohol. His voice makes your skin squirm.

You try to get out of his grip, but he’s stronger than you are. Panic beings to flow through you. You’re in a busy club yet you feel completely alone. Nobody seems to notice the situation. Or at least you think.

“Hey. She’s with me. I’d appreciate it if you’d leave my girl alone.” A voice breaks through the crowd and you can’t turn quickly enough to see your savior.

He’s gorgeous. Long dark hair, he’s built like a god and tall. He’s like a literal angel who fell from Heaven to come save you. The guy takes one look at him and starts to back away, soon fading into the crowd to find another girl to go bother.

You turn to your savior and smile, “Thank you.” You tell him.

“It’s not a problem. I couldn’t just stand by and watch him bother you.” He extends a hand towards you, “Roman,”

You take it with a smile. “[Y/N],”

“Well, [Y/N], since we’re here, why don’t you have a drink with me?”

This guy is giving you good vibes. Plus, maybe the creep won’t come back if he sees the two of you together. He’s gorgeous, so that’s a plus. “Why not?” You say with a smile.

One thing somehow led to another. You two were sitting at the bar, chatting, really vibing. Roman was an interesting guy, plus he’s nice. You were really feeling him and evidently, he was really feeling you too. After a few drinks together…you’re lying on your back in the backseat of his car.

Your clothes are forgotten somewhere on the floorboard, mingled with Roman’s. He’s on top of you, lips pressed into the crook of your neck. He bites the skin there, running his tongue over the same spot quickly after to soothe it.

He’s pressed into of you, thrusting gently into you. The pace is slow; he’s taking his time. His hands explore your body as he fucks you, his lips moving from your neck to your collarbone.

You feel light-headed. Everything feels so damn good. You move your hips up to meet his thrusts, your hands mocking his and exploring his body. He’s ripped, hard like stone. A part of you wonders if you’re so damn drunk that you’re hallucinating.

Being on the road is your only solace from home. You feel more at home in hotel rooms than you do the walls of your own home. Your relationship has been abusive for years and you know you need to leave…but you just don’t know how. You keep telling yourself he is going to change, but you know there’s no guarantee. You know he’s probably going to keep hitting you. Nobody knows how hard it is to actually leave.

Whenever you’re on the road, you hope the tour will take as long as possible. You find yourself hoping for delays and hoping for dates to get added, just to keep yourself safe. You’ve been lucky over the years; nobody has found out about your secret. More than that though, you’ve made the best friends a girl could ask for.

Once Dean, Seth and Roman were moved to the main roster, the four of you became almost inseparable.  To cut costs, you guys usually room together. Tonight, you’re rooming with Roman. The two of you are probably the closest out of the four of you. You two just hit it off and it went from there.

You just got out of the shower, standing in the bathroom to towel yourself off. You pause, looking at your body in the mirror. Faded yellow bruises cover your skin, along with some new darker purple ones from before you left. Some of them are clearly fingerprint shaped, a clear indication that you had been thrown or grabbed.

Just as you get your pajama pants on, the bathroom door bursts open. Roman is standing there, mouth opened. “Fuck,” He says. “I’m so sorry, [Y/N]. I didn’t realize you were in here.” He had been out getting some food with Dean and Seth, he probably thought you were doing the same.

You’re quick to bring the towel back up to cover your top half, but you’re sure he saw the bruises. Your cheeks are flushed, and you can’t look him in the eyes. “Don’t worry about it.” You say, shaking your head. “It happens.”

“Right.” He says before backing out and closing the door behind him.

You take a bit longer in the bathroom, getting ready for bed but also calming your nerves. When you come back out, Roman’s sitting on his bed. Silence settles between the two of you as you walk to your own bed, taking a seat.

The silence doesn’t last long before Roman says in a low voice, “He hits you?” It’s a question, but it sounds more like a statement.

There’s no hiding it now. No lie would be believable. You swallow hard. “Sometimes.”

“When did it start?”

“I don’t remember.”

Neither of you are looking at each other when you talk, both of you keeping the divide between you. It’s a rough conversation, one you would rather not be having but here you are. You have no choice. “Why didn’t you ever say anything?” Roman asks.

“I didn’t know what to say. I was embarrassed and scared to ask for help.” It’s a quiet admission, one you wish wasn’t true.

“Yeah?” Roman finally turns to look at you. “You don’t have to be embarrassed and you sure as hell don’t have to be scared. When we get back, I’m coming home with you. You’re getting your things and you’re coming home with me.” His voice is firm. “He’s never putting a finger on you again. If he tries, I’ll toss his bitch ass across the room. Got it?”

Tears run down your cheeks. You’re scared, but thankful. You have the best support group anyone could ask for; you just wish you would have asked for help sooner. “Got it.” You say softly.

You find yourself leaning up against the wall, arms crossed over your chest. In front of you is Elliot, one of the latest trainees at Black and Brave Wrestling Academy. You’ve been here for years, seeing as how your father owns the school. Year after year, new guys come in and some of them flirt with you. However, Elliot is different. He’s the first one you have found yourself interested in as well.

For weeks, the two of you have been going back and forth with your flirting. By now, you’re sure everybody knows how you feel about each other. Today’s different though. Standing across from you, Elliot is grinning from ear to ear. “[Y/N],” He says. “why don’t we go out tomorrow night?”

You raise your eyebrows, trying to look as unimpressed as possible. Inside, you’re seriously freaking out. “Like a date?” You ask, doing your best to not get your hopes up. You don’t want to look desperate or anything…but you’ve been waiting for this moment for a while now.

Elliot’s grin widens. “Yeah, a date.” He says. “Are you down?”

You’re quick to nod your head. “I’m absolutely down. Let’s do it.”

“Cool. I’ll text you tonight with the details.” He says. “I should probably go train before I get yelled at for standing around too much though.” He looks over his shoulder, both of you noticing your dad approaching.

“That’s probably a good idea.” You say and Elliot starts to walk away. It’s not like your dad, Seth Rollins, is ridiculously protective or anything. He’s let you date before, but he always wants what’s best for you.

As Elliot walks away, Seth approaches you. “What was that about?” He asks. He tries to look like he’s not too interested in whatever the two of you were talking about, but you both know that’s not true.

You’ve never kept a real secret from your dad before. You shrug as you look up at him. “Nothing really. Elliot just asked me on a date.” You say with a smile.

Seth nods, rubbing at his chin. “Huh, interesting.” He says before walking away.

Little did you know that your ‘uncles’ (not by blood but they’re your father’s best friends, they might as well be your uncles) would be stopping by. Dean and Roman enter and everybody looks starstruck by their appearance. They stop and talk to your dad for a minute before heading towards the ring.

Instead of your dad running things today, they’re going to run things for the trainees. After tweaking your ankle, a week ago, you’re still sitting things out for a bit, so you’re stuck sitting on the sidelines to watch. You’re a little upset about it, wanting to gain all the knowledge you can from your uncles.

You watch the entire day as everybody is really put through the ringer. If they don’t get something perfect, they’re made to do it all over again. You start to notice though that they’re being extra hard on Elliot. It’s nothing near abuse, but they’re pointing out the smallest flaws when he does something, ones that would generally be overlooked.

When the day comes to an end, everybody is exhausted and dragging their feet out of the academy. You walk up to your uncles with your arms crossed over your chest. “What was that about?” You ask.

“What do you mean?” Roman responds, clearly playing dumb.

“I saw how you all treated Elliot. You were harder on him than anybody else.”

Dean shrugs. “We wanted to see if he could cut it.”

“And?”

Your dad smiles down at you. “Well, let’s just say so far he’s proven to be good enough for you.”

You don’t have to say a thing. Jack watched as you fell to the ground and immediately hopped into the ring. He walked up to Rick Knox and said something to him before gesturing over to you. Rick seems to nod, and Jack turns away.

Kip and Penelope have no idea what’s going on, you think. Because they’re standing in their corner looking incredibly confused. When Jack walks away from Knox, Penelope starts to cross the ring back over to you.

Before she can reach you, Jack is kneeling in front of you. He’s blocking you from everybody else as he gently runs his hand over your ankle. You wince in pain as soon as he touches it. He turns back to Rick and shakes his head again. “She can’t continue.” He says.

You look up at him. “I’m sorry.” You say. You don’t want to cost him the match. You offer to crawl off to the side and let him finish things, but Jack shakes his head.

“No. We’re going to get you taken care of.” He says.

Backstage, the doctor checks you out. The entire time, Jack is right by your side. When he says you’re going to have to go to the hospital, Jack says he’s coming too. When you get the news that your ankle isn’t broken, you think Jack is happier than you are about it.

You do need to stay off of it for awhile though, so you’ll be out of action for a few weeks. You’re clearly upset about it but Jack crawls into bed next to you. “Don’t worry about it. You’ll be back in the ring before you know it.” He says, taking your hand in his.

“I know.” You say with a sigh. “I just…wasn’t expecting this. I can’t believe I messed up.”

“Hey, you didn’t do anything wrong. Sometimes these things happen.” He tells you, giving your hand a squeeze. “But you’re going to come back stronger than ever. I promise. And then we’ll get a rematch against Kip and Penelope. We’ll kick their asses, I promise.”

You can’t help but laugh as you listen to him. How did you get so lucky?

“For you.” You tell him when the kiss breaks.

He pushes you against the tile wall of the shower, his hands exploring your body while yours explore his. You kiss each other deeply, your tongue exploring his mouth, tasting him. When his hand slides between your legs, you moan into the kiss.

“Nope.” You shake your head. “I was speaking in ‘what ifs.’ I don’t have a crush on you. Sorry to break your heart.”

“Sweetheart, we both know you like me. I see how your cheeks heat up every time I look at you.” He reaches out and tucks a stray piece of hair behind your ear. “Stop trying to fool yourself.”

Your cheeks are burning, and your heart is pounding. You look up at him, go to open your mouth to say something. Anything to make you feel less like an idiot. Before you can say a thing though, MJF’s lips are on yours. You’re shocked, standing still for longer than you probably should have before you kiss him back.

Too soon he breaks the kiss and smirks at you. “Knew it. You like me. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have kissed me back.”

You’re embarrassed, enraged. You want to run and hide because he’s such a fucking asshole. Before you can act, MJF speaks up. “Which is fine because I like you too.” His lips are back on yours, rough and needy and you’re returning the kiss, matching his intensity.
