Request: Okay, so I just saw the lion king again, yep it was my second time, and I was thinking about something like y/n go see it with Shawn and your son and he starts crying on the sad part of it, just lots of fluffy, Love all your writings by the way :) (from: @emma-manuhpe)

A/N: I haven’t written for dad!Shawn in a while (except for Two Sides of the coin but that’s different). Anyways, I haven’t seen the live-action of Lion King so I took most of my knowledge from the animated version.

You sat comfortably in the cinema chair, Shawn’s arm wrapped around your shoulders. Your son, Eli, sat in between you with a gleeful expression. It was his first time seeing the Lion King.

Both you and Shawn had, of course, seen the animated one but Eli would be seeing it for the first time. To be honest, you were quite excited yourself since it was your favorite film growing up.

Though you were a bit nervous for him to see the very scarring scene, when Mufasa died. Since it was the live action, you wondered how much worse it would be.

You saw him the second he walked into the café… light blue jeans, leather jacket and a silver chain hiding under the white fabric of his t-shirt.

He hadn’t noticed you yet so you went to the back of the café to bring out some more orders. It was the same guy from the party, wasn’t it? You remember it so vividly…

Your friends laughed around you at the joke one of them just told, but you seemed to drown it out when you locked eyes with him… He was sitting with a group of other guys, all of them had some sort of instrument in their hands. But the guy your heart started beating faster for was strumming the strings of a guitar. Your ears perked up when you heard him sing, his voice was so… alluring.

He said something to his friends before getting up, not breaking eye contact, as he walked towards you. He was tall to say the least, wearing black trousers and suspenders over the white sleeveless shirt, and very well built. The tight shirt didn’t leave much for the imagination, but you weren’t complaining.

“Can I have a dance?”, he quirked an eyebrow as he stared you down with a mysterious smile. You knew these types of guys… they were charming, hot and took you on amazing adventures. Until they leave you and break your heart.

“Do you know how to wrap your hands?”, he asked once he was done. You shook your head no and he motioned for you to sit down on the bench next to him. He took your hand and slowly started wrapping bandage like things around it.

“Too tight?”, he asked softly.

“No, that’s fine.”, you nodded.

“Fine or good?”, he smiled, “Because there’s a big difference.”

“Good.”, you smiled back. As he started wrapping the other hand he started noticing your fidgeting and slight shaking.

You looked around at your desk, where you kept all of your paintings, to see if you had any paper left.

Shawn came up behind you, his bare chest pressed against your back and his arms wrapped around your waist.

“They’re beautiful.”, he commented silently into your ear, sending shivers down your spine.

“Thanks… but I don’t have any paper left.”, you frowned and gathered all the paintings in a bunch. Shawn was quiet for a while, thinking. It left you some time to lean into his chest and relax for once. You were trying to practice painting so that you could finally paint a mural in your bedroom. You’ve always wanted to paint a mural but never had the time. Now that you had the time, you didn’t have the paper!

“I really wanted to practice for my mural… get the pattern down, y’know?”, you sighed.

“You can practice on me.”, he muttered.

“What?”, you turned around to face him.

“I mean, you can paint on me.”, he smiled.

“To bed it is!”, he smiled.

 You let out a yelp as he picked you up and carried you to the bedroom.

You stared in the mirror, following the waves that your hair created. It was that red set of hair that had gotten you teased through out school. The word “ginger” rang in your ears ever since. Ginger was a way to describe the way you looked but it wasn’t supposed to be a nickname… or in this case it was more of a way of teasing.

Shawn walked in as you tried to do something with your hair, like put it up or something.

“Are you ready to leave?”, he asked with a small smile.

You watched him walk out of the bathroom with a warm smile on your face. How could you have gotten so lucky?

Shawn was in the studio when he remembered what had happened last night. 

The music that was blaring was giving him the worst headache ever but he was there for Y/N, so it was fine. Was it a friends birthday? Yeah, one of Y/N’s friends was turning 21… that’s why he was drinking a bit too much.

Y/N was trying to pull him away somewhere, she was probably really inoxicated herself because she was muttering some nonesense.

“Stop, Y/N!”, he had almost yelled.

“What?”, he remembered her looking really hurt, the memory was heartbreaking on it’s own.

“Stop pulling me around! You’re being so annoying!”, he had never thought about the word annoying when trying to describe Y/N.

It was the alchohol and the headache that was talking at this point. He remember her mumbling out an apology.

On the way home he didn’t talk to her and at home he didn’t cuddle up next to her like he usually did.

That was probably why she acted so weird this morning. Usually she was supper bubbly and always kissed him before he left. This morning she had been cold and distant.

Shawn groaned at his former drunker self for being so stupid. That’s when he got an idea…

He was done for the day now anyways so he said bye to everyone, got his guitar and left.

A/N: Thanks for giving me a reason to rewatch that video! I feel kind of creepy because I’ve studied that video so much now…

As Shawn’s assistant, you followed him almost everywhere. That included to shoot his music videos.

This time you followed him to the shoot for “Nervous”. He had shown you the plans for how it was going to look and you had told him you thought it would be a cute idea. Though you were a bit jealous of the girl who would be sitting behind, getting to touch him.

I mean, how could you not get a crush on him? If you spend an hour alone with him you’ll eventually sigh like a disney princess and you had spent months with him.

Once you got to where you’d be recording everything was already set up. Except one very important detail.

“The model called in sick last minute.”, the director said, “We’re trying to find someone but it’ll be hard to find someone who’d be willing to do it right now.”

You looked around, the room was basically just filled with men except women who worked in the film crew or with sound.

Shawn looked back to you and a light bulb lit up in his head.

“Y/N can do it, right?”, he looked at you.

Your face flushed red at the thought of it.

“You can?”, the director asked, “That would give us a lot more time to shoot.”

“Um… sure.”, you barely had time to answer before someone got you in a make up chair.
