A little introduction (except I'm bad at the little part)
I don't want to talk too much about myself, cause I like this site for its anonymity, but I post in the tag A LOT so I just wanted to introduce myself.
Hi, I'm Dig (gender, sexuality and pronouns are confusing and I don't know, but happily identify as queer in the same way Dan does.) I'm in my early 30s, from the US, Jewish and disabled.
I've been on Tumblr on and off since 2011, so I was very aware of Dan and Phil, but actively avoided the whole YouTuber fandom like the plague. Though looking back, I feel fairly certain I would have been happier being here than in the other several fandoms I was in, but, well, hyperfixations chose you, you don't chose them.
I spend many years trying to run away from modern fandoms cause living people can disappoint you, the dead cannot, and my mental health couldn't handle being disappointed again.
On Oct 13, I saw one of the many social media posts from publications who don't know shit, made a really uninformed post and then realized maybe I should know what I'm talking about before saying anything, and that was pretty much it. I've been here ever since and watched way more videos than someone should be able to watch in a month.
I've worked in various forms of entertainment for years so on top of just loving being able to forget about work being part of the Phandom, I'm also getting some inspiration for how to do my job better, which makes the whole, this is an escape thing slightly more challenging.
I've basically only listened to music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s for the past 4 years, and now, like many other Phannies I'm reacquainting myself with the music I listened to in high school and college. Both nostalgic and a bit of exposure therapy.
Sorry, I'm naturally very longwinded, I doubt anyone will be reading this whole thing, but if you do and you wanna say hi, please do! I'd love to make new friends on here (or something more, you never know I guess).
And if you're also 30+ ask about my 30+ Phannie discord!
