So my godmother has a PhD in psychology, and once during a conference she was showing some statistics about the correlation between gender and the subjects you’re supposed to be good at. There was an experiment in which a group of young girls took a maths test on their own, and another (same difficulty) one when they were in the same room as a group of young boys. For the same level, they did much better on their own. Also, girls’ good results at maths tests tend to dicrease from the age of puberty, when they get more sexualized and gender roles are more pressurizing. The pressure linked to the stereotype makes it real… PLEASE DON’T LET IT.

The funny thing is Harry looks so pleased with himself when the question is asked, like “no way is it gonna be us”.

So i was at work today and i saw these mugs and i had the worst thought. So imagine harry opening one of the ridiculous number of gifts Louis buys Harry for Christmas (he puts it off until mid December and then goes through stores and just buys eVERYTHING). Anyway Harry opens this gift and it’s a simple mug that says “I love You” on the face and Harry awws and says thank you. Fast forward to the afternoon and Louis makes him tea in the mug and brings it out, taking his own seat looking smug. That’s when Harry sees the “I love you more” in Louis’ sweater paws. He squawks and shouts about how “That’s not fair you’re such a cheater Lou trade me!” and Louis refuses and wobbles away through the house spilling tea everywhere.

in 50 years…… some college students will be sitting in a classroom taking their class about the history of pop music, and the teacher is introducing an influential boyband from 2010s with their debut single What Makes You Beautiful being played in the background…… a student whispered to their classmate “my grandma has this CD. like, an actual CD” another student who claims they only listen to real music will be bouncing their head to the tune thinking “I was born in the wrong era” while the other student is trying to remember the names of all members even tho they only remember henry style because he’s in an old movie I guess??? was that the same person??? and then there’s this student in the back who’s almost falling asleep thinking why did they choose history as a single instead of what a feeling

Please read, I really need help.

So as most of you know I’m sixteen year old girl living in Canada, and I’ll be in my final year of high school this fall and applying to universities before the end of the year. As universities, programs, and career possibilities are the only things I ever talk about on this blog, you can imagine how important it is for me to be able to go to university for something in life sciences or engineering. However, what most of you may not know is that I have a very unusual, and complicated situation and I’m currently in great need of financial help.

Basically, this time the following year I was fifteen, essentially homeless with no place to live, unable to get a job, and my depression was at the worst it’s possibly ever been. Upon turning sixteen I was able to apply for Ontario Works to support myself on my own, and obtain a stable living situation that I’ve had the past ten months. However, as those familiar with OW know, I barely receive any money and it just covers my very basic needs. Even though I’ve been trying to save for my university costs, it’s been extremely difficult. I’ve been trying to get a job but it’s extremely difficult with no experience, and with my mental health issues I won’t be able to mentally withstand having a job with my full course load, and be able to pull off the grades that I need for university. I really need help in affording application costs, and applying through OUAC will cost me $150 for three programs, and an additional $50 per program/school after that. I also really, really need help for my future university expenses including a laptop, books, and possibly even tuition and housing costs.
