Reblogging this here despite present inactivity because THE ENTIRE GODDAMN REASON WHY IMAGINE SYCAMORE WAS MADE was because the fandom loved him. This was the goal. A silly place where you could go and say "Imagine the Professor being the adorable nerd he is." Sure it's escapist, sure your faves are only fictional characters, we're all fully aware that the professor is fictional, but life is so hard sometimes it feels good to fantasize, no one deserves to be feeling the lowest of the low, try to resort to that comfort tactic and think to themselves "I'm fucking stupid for trying to resort to this. Even if the professor was real he would probably hate me"

Because you know what? Fandom is built on such huge amounts of love, and everyone deserves to be loved. I'm pretty sure that your favourite character would love you back and treat you well, because you deserve nothing less.

As you might have noticed, there haven't been any new posts since the end of 2014 and the askbox has been closed for a few days. I fell out of the modding routine during the holidays and only now got the courage to tackle the inbox.

...I'm going to be honest: I fell out of the Sycamore side of the pokémon fandom quite a while ago and as such managing this blog is no longer as much fun as it used to be, especially in times where I had to manage the blog in the small amount of tumblr time college allowed me.

And as dumb as it might sound, this feeling was spreading to my enjoyment of Professor Sycamore as a character. I looked at submissions with a feeling of apathy, sometimes dread, and I don't want that anymore, that's why I want to step down.

I'm really sorry for this. It's not really anyone's fault and you have nothing but my thanks for the good times. I started this blog shortly after XY came out, and let me tell you, the period between October 2013 to early 2014 (The Sycathirst lmao) was one of the most fun periods I ever had in fandom, IS was my way of contributing, and that's why I can't bear to fall out of love completely. 

Imagine Sycamore will remain up and I have no plans of deleting, the submissions I had have been posted or queued and the ask box will be open for any odd submission but we're on semi-hiatus, I'll only check and post them every once in a while.

I don't wish to pass this blog to anyone else but perhaps when the hypothetical Pokémon Z or XY2 games come out I'll come back! :) For now though, I'm stepping away.

Imagine him giving Diantha extra marshmallows so she doesn't leave because he knows his puns are terrible and that's why he likes them. Imagine he even gets her a special mug that says "#1 Sister" on it.
