hi everyone!! my name is bee and welcome to my blog! i write harry potter fanfics on here (oneshots and drabbles but i like to call them blurbs) and you'll see that i tend to write more about certain characters than others (cough cough fred and remus), but i am open to writing about all characters! most of my fics are fluff but also some angst depending on how i'm feeling that week, and some smut scattered throughout. now that i've written quite a few things, i've decided to put together a masterlist, sorted by character. hopefully this will be helpful in seeing the things i've put out!
inbox is always open so if you don't see something in here that you'd like me to write, i'd LOVE for you to shoot me a request!!

--
the door nearly slammed into the wall as you and remus stumbled through. it was your first date night since becoming new parents, and you definitely felt the effeects of it. you didn't know where you ended and he started; you were so entangled in each other, making out shamelessly like you used to as teenagers. but you weren't a teenager anymore - the nights of drunken make-out sessions at the party in the common room were gone, replaced by late-night diaper changes and getting tipsy after one glass of wine.
"shh, we're going to wake sirius up!" you giggled against his lips when remus reached for the coat rack and knocked it over, but he only grunted and deepened the kiss even more.
you walked backwards, refusing to unlock your lips from your husband's, and tripped over a stray shoe. remus caught you just in time and pulled you back into him. he whispered, "careful there, pretty. you don't want to break those beautiful ankles of yours."
"oh, my ankles, huh?" you wrapped your arms around remus's neck to draw him down until your noses brushed against each other and your lips tickled his, "my goodness, moony, i knew you were a wild one but i didn't know you were this wild."
he closed the gap between your lips and between kisses, replied, "only for you, my love."
"get a room, idiots." sirius's groggy voice called out, only a tad louder than a whisper. evidently, he had not been asleep.
at the beginning of the night when he first arrived to babysit your daughter, he had taken her from your arms almost immediately and shooed the two of you out of the house. two hours later, he was corpse-like in the armchair by the fireplace with towels flung over his shoulder, baby bottles scattered on the floor, and your daughter, fast asleep, strapped across his chest in the baby bjorn. his head was resting on the teddy he had bought her.
remus rolled his eyes and whispered as to not wake your daughter up, "padfoot, this is our house. the entire place is our room." you stifled a laugh as sirius simply waved a hand at remus and dismissed him completely.
"fine. whatever. just go do it somewhere else. quietly. and do NOT wake her up." the last sentence came out as a hiss of someone who had just battled a fussy baby to sleep.
you took a step towards sirius, reaching out for your daughter, and started to ask, "do you want me to take –" but before you could finish your sentence, remus was tugging you away.
"no no no, you heard him, y/n, he said we could go do it somewhere else. so i'm doing you somewhere else."
from behind you, sirius mumbled, "get it, moony." before falling asleep again.
you smirked at remus and looked up at him through your lashes in the way you knew drove him crazy, and purred, "you're going to do me? wow you're so romantic, so charming." remus moaned and pulled you into the bedroom. he pushed you onto the mattress with an animalistic look of hunger in his eyes and growled, "oh, y/n. you don't even know."

"yikes, that takes the cake as your worst date yet."
theseus lay on the ground across from you as tossing a ball in the air and catching it. you’d just come back from a date with with some random kid named arthur something-or-the-other, who you had given a chance because he had asked you out with a confidence that had been attractive to you. turns out, that confidence was actually his least attractive quality. he spent the entire time bragging about his past dates with other women, and then at the end of the night, pinned you against the wall in a way he clearly thought was romantic, and attempted to kiss you, only to land face-first in the wall when you ducked. you left him red-faced and sputtering as you flipped him off and stalked away.
you sighed a long, deep sigh. "i really don't know how i do it, theseus. i always–"
he tossed the ball up before finishing your sentence, "pick the most evil men in all the wizarding land to go out with?"
"exactly."
"well, i hate to say it, but i did tell you so–" you threw a couch cushion at him, wiping the smirk off his face. you ignored the fact that he had, in fact, told you so.
he threw the cushion back and turned his nose up at you. "fine, i won't tell you what i found out today."
"thats not fair theseus," you whined, "i always tell you everything i hear!"
he taunted you in a sing-song voice, "it's reeeaally good gossip too!" you grabbed the five other cushions on the couch and started chucking them at his head.
you clapped your hands in delight and jumped up and down in your seat. "tell me, tell me!" gossiping was your and theseus's favorite things to do together - in fact, it was what had brought you two together to quickly become best friends - you had first met when you caught each others' eye in the dining hall, trying to hold in a laugh when a student got caught in the flurry of owls and threw a platter of biscuits in the air.
your excitement spread to theseus, who sat up with a mischievous glint in his eye. he had been holding this news in all day and he was practically bursting, you could tell.
"it has to do with you."
you cocked your head, feigning nonchalance. if you showed too much excitement, theseus would dangle the gossip in front of you. he was such a tease.
"oh?"
he scooched himself closer and leaned in dramatically. he continued in a low voice, "it has to do with you and my brother."
"wh-what?"
theseus watched with large grin as your face grew hot at the mention of his brother. ever since you and theseus had grown close, newt would join in on your study sessions, trips to hogsmeade, and lazy days in the courtyard. theseus and newt could not be more different from each other, and that's what you loved so much about spending time with the brothers. they were both well-known at hogwarts, theseus for being loud and outgoing, newt for being intelligent and just a bit strange.
you quickly developed a crush on the latter. newt quickly became comfortable with you, which meant that he would prattle on about his latest creature hyperfixation. theseus teased him about it, but you quite enjoyed watching his eyes glimmer as he spoke.
it was during one of these conversations that theseus realized your feelings for newt. it was all he could do to contain himself when he caught you lost to the world, eyes only for newt, but rest assured, he made sure you tease you about it the second his brother was gone.
so theseus's face brightened ever so slightly when your cheeks turned pink at the mention of newt. a grin spread on his face and he replied, "yes, y/n, you and newt."
you suddenly felt you had to be gone from the room. brushing imaginary lint off your sweater, you sprang up from your seat and patted theseus on his head. "well, it was good to see you buddy, but i think i'll turn in. i'm very–"
"he has a crush on you too." he let that linger in the air before adding, "actually, the word i believe he used is looove." he drew out the last word for maximum effect.
you froze. he had to be joking, right? but maybe he wasn't. he wouldn't joke about something like this. could newt possibly truly like you back?
theseus sat back, watching the gears turn in your head, and when you didn't speak, he continued, "i've always known, you know. it's just that i finally got him to admit today."
you searched his face, still trying to figure out if he was being serious. "theseus, this would be a very mean thing to joke about."
"i'm not joking, y/n. i've never been more serious in my life, actually." he did look very serious, almost even grave. the truth was, ever since he realized the feelings you had for each other, he had been hoping something would blossom between you two. but newt was too shy, you were too afraid to ruin your friendship, and after two years of watching you pine for each other, he decided he had had enough.
"to prove to you how serious i am," theseus snapped you out of your spiraling thoughts, "i arranged a little something tonight."
your eyes widened to the size of saucers. "theseus, you did NOT."
"i absolutely did." like clockwork, the door to the common room swung open and newt stepped in. he nearly dropped his satchel when he saw you sitting with theseus. evidently, he had been tricked at the hands of his brother as well.
"ah, there he is!" theseus walked over to newt, who had now simultaneously gone pale and red in the face, and threw his arm around his shoulder. he practically dragged newt to the couch and pushed him onto the seat next to you.
you sat together stiffly, as if you were strangers sitting next to each other on a crowded bus. newt was the first to break the tension, offering a, "h-hello, y/n." he attempted to pair it with a smile but failed, instead staring at the ground. you mumbled some sort of unintelligible response as you stared at the ceiling, as if you were watching for something to land on you.
theseus threw his hands up in exasperation. "for the love of merlin, fine! i'll do everything! newt, y/n. y/n, newt. newt, y/n is in love with you. y/n, newt is in love with you. now, go!" he fell back into the armchair and watched intently.
you gasped, then buried your face in your hands. you wished you could either shove him into the fireplace or sink into the couch.
"theseus, what is wrong with you!" you swore in your head you were going to kill him. you were going to pound his face into the ground over and over again until –
you felt a gentle hand on your shoulder.
"y/n, is he telling the truth?" newt's voice shook ever so slightly. he had never felt so nervous. but then again, he had never felt this way about anyone before, so he didn't know how to compose himself. he just had to know the truth.
your heart skipped a beat at his touch, and you slowly removed your face from your hands. you turned slightly, enough to lock eyes with the boy. he was bright and his eyebrows were scrunched together in the most adorable way. his soft gaze met yours, a hint of hope in his eyes.
your face grew even warmer at his searching eyes. you supposed there was nothing else to do except finally tell him the truth. your breath quickened and you closed your eyes to brace yourself. why did you feel so nervous? all those dates, the past partners, and you had never once felt these nerves.
"the truth is, i-" you blinked your eyes open to confess, but were distracted by theseus in your peripheral, who was leaning forward, practically falling off the sofa, and looking a fool with a huge grin on his face. he looked as if he was seconds away from grabbing a large bucket of popcorn.
"sorry, but do you mind?" you scowled at theseus and newt ducked to hide his laughter.
theseus reacted as if you had slapped him. he rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the couch with a huff. "fine you prude, i'll leave. have fun, you two. and remember what i told you, newt." as theseus stalked out of the room, he made sure to nudge his younger brother and wink. this only made newt blush a new shade of red.
when you were sure theseus had left, you turned back to newt. you scrambled to regain what courage you had built up before, but you were grasping and coming up with nothing but air.
"newt," you cleared your throat and shifted nervously in your seat, "i... yes, i'm in lo–"
suddenly his lips were crashing into yours, cutting you off. you froze for a millisecond, stunned by this uncharacteristic boldness, but then your arms were wrapped around his neck, drawing him closer, and one of his hands was running down your body to your waist, the other entangling itself in your hair. the kiss was almost animalistic as two years of tension finally unraveled and your lips melded into one. you melted into his arms, letting him take you however he wanted.
you didn't know how many minutes had passed before your lips slowed and your eyes fluttered open. breathless, you leaned your foreheads against each other. newt's fingers were interlaced in yours and he ran his thumb over your knuckles.
he brought your hand to his lips and gently kissed it. his confession came out in a breath. "i'm in... i'm in love with you, y/n. have been for a while." the butterflies in your stomach fluttered into your throat as a smile broke out across your face. you touched his cheek and kissed him again. this time the kiss was gentler, more tender.
"YES!" you jumped and whirled around to the sight of theseus springing out from around the corner and pumping his hands in the air in victory.
"THESEUS!" you shouted indignantly while newt giggled behind you. despite the stern look on your face, theseus skipped over and excitedly planted a kiss on your head, then his brother's, then shoved his way in between you two.
he threw his arms around you both and squeezed your shoulders so hard you thought for a second it had been dislocated.
"hello to my new sister! welcome to the family!" theseus was like a child in a candy shop; he was so happy his plan had worked, possibly the happiest you had ever seen him. how could you be angry at that?
"woah, slow down there buddy." you patted his hand and chuckled. newt laughed from behind theseus, "yeah merlin, give me a few years, theseus. i just got here."
"i'm just excited you gits! took you long enough!" theseus slapped newt on the back. "you did good, little bud, i'm so proud!"
for the next few hours, you and newt let theseus sit with you like this, his arms thrown around your shoulders, the three of you squeezed onto one couch. every so often, you would catch newt's eyes, sparkling and crinkled with a smile.
with his eyes closed and a content smile on his face, theseus sighed, "you guys are like my mom and dad."
"theseus, you're older than us." newt replied without missing a beat. you couldn't help but laugh out loud at the murderous look theseus shot at newt.
"don't worry newt, he'll tire soon and then we can be alone." you said, not caring if theseus heard.
this was a mistake; theseus took this as a challenge and said, "oh, that's what you guys think."
and indeed, he sat like this for an hour and a half, and only went upstairs when you and newt dragged him, half-asleep, to his room and tucked him into bed, truly like his parents.
the rest of the night was spent in each others' arms, watching the flames in the fireplace slowly die, stealing long, lingering kisses. you saw your future in each other, in each others' arms, and of course, with theseus there too.

the door was thrown open with a loud creak and a bang as it hit the wall and made the basement shake. you could see two faint silhouettes, one of which was fenrir greyback; the werewolf was one of voldemort's top henchmen, and the reason you had ended up here. fenrir's growling laughter echoed through the dank basement as he threw the figure onto the ground. the newcomer grunted as he hit the floor but managed to throw an obscene hand gesture at the werewolf before the door slammed shut.
darkness engulfed you again. it had been days - or maybe weeks - since you had met the poor newcomer's same fate. you had been ripped away from your boys: george and lee, but most devastatingly, your boyfriend fred. for the first few days, you pounded on the door and screamed until your fists were black and blue, but even the strongest can be weakened. ever since that night, you had barely been able to eat or drink; the anxiety over your friends was debilitating, and you spent all your waking hours wondering if they were alive or dead. thankfully (but quite unfortunately), luna and ollivander had been able to coax some food into you, just enough for you to survive.
--
the four of you had been on the road for months now, ever since the trio disappeared on their mysterious mission. at least once a week, you, fred, george, and lee ran a secret broadcast called potterwatch, a radio show you had come up with to keep the wizarding world informed and aware to the best of your abilities. fred and george had worked out the kinks while you and lee used your vast connections to recruit trusted informants.
one night, after bill's guest segment on goblin sentiments, you leaned against the wall of your latest safespot - a shed behind an abandoned warehouse - and chatted with him as he packed up his things to return home.
"y'know, the news isn't the only thing people like about the show."
you tore your gaze away from fred, who had just pelted himself in the face with a ball he had bounced against the wall, and turned your attention to bill.
"really? what else is there to enjoy?"
"the fun of it."
you were taken aback. "the... the fun? of the war?"
"yeah," bill smirked, "even when you're reporting on a war, you lot have a very difficult time keeping it doom and gloom. they like the jokes and shenanigans - makes things feel kind of normal."
you couldn't help but chuckle. he wasn't wrong about the lack of ability to be serious in the group. from then on, potterwatch turned into a part-time comedy show, with the four of you hopping on once a week to simply chat about everything and nothing and hopefully make people laugh.
the night you were attacked had been the first warm night in months. you had just finished a broadcast - "... the next password will be 'marauders.' keep each other safe. keep faith. and goodnight" - and were hanging out in the front yard of your latest hideout, which was a small cottage in the middle of an abandoned town.
you sat on the front steps with fred, watching as george and fred pelted snowballs at each other and giggled like little boys. you leaned fred's head against his shoulder and he held you close to his side, rubbing your arms to keep you warm even though you already were.
you were the first to break the silence, humming, "fred, when all of this is over, what's going to happen?" the two of you played this game everyday; it was an excuse to be able to fantasize about a future, something that was never guaranteed these days.
fred's face split into a smile as he replied with his line, "hm, i think we could have a little cottage like this one."
"yeah?"
"yeah. and we could have a nice garden -"
"neither one of us know how to garden."
"- that we would kill every year, and george would probably be there because he's an annoying git."
george stopped mid-throw to point at his twin and yell, "save me a room!" lee took this opportunity to hit him in the face with a large snowball. fred rolled with laughter and you shook your head, giggling at george's stunned expression.
when fred was done laughing at his brother, he wiped tears from his eyes and pointed at you, "now your turn."
you tapped your chin with your finger, feigning deep thought even though you knew exactly what you were picturing. "i think i'd like a flat in london too. our cottage would be where we can get away to when london gets to be too much. d'you think we could do that?"
fred chuckled and pecked you on your lips, "anything you want, baby."
he opened his mouth to continue when there was a CRACK and suddenly, you were engulfed in robes. a scream escaped your lips as rough hands grabbed your arms and started dragging you before you could even reach for your wand.
the boys roared with anger and through the robes, you saw red lights flashing back and forth as they fired curses at your captors.
"you'll have to try harder than that!" it was fenrir. you had heard whispers that voldemort himself had put him in charge of hunting down wanted wizards. he cackled as he easily dodged the curses and continued to drag you away from the group.
you heard another familiar laugh. "gotcha now, weasleys! he's going to be so happy with us!" yaxley swerved back and forth, effortlessly avoiding the flashing light.
you kicked and screamed as hard as you could, twisting to try to reach your wand, which was tucked in your pocket, mere inches away from your fingertips, but fenrir's grip was too strong.
"YAXLEY!" he boomed, "this bitch is too squirmy, we need to come back for the rest of them!"
"you stupid werewolf, there is no way we are returning without them!" yaxley's turned slightly to fenrir with annoyance in his eyes, and george took the split second to hit him in the chest and knock him off his feet.
"GIVE HER BACK!" through the grunts and yells, you heard fred's yell in a way you had never heard before.
"FRED!"
"Y/N!" his voice gave you the strength to twist around and kick fenrir in the shins. he growled in pain and slammed you on the ground. the wind was knocked out of you and you couldn't respond to fred, who was trying to fight his way through to you.
yaxley managed to catch his breath and pushed himself ofof the ground. "FINE. let's go. but you're going to have to explain to the dark lord why we've only come back with this girl." panic bubbled in your throat, but all you could do was lay limp on the ground, struggling to breathe. you started fading into black and the last thing you heard was fred screaming your name in agony.
--
the newcomer groaned again as he dragged himself upright.
"dickhead."
your focus on the wall wavered as you registered his voice. something in your hazy mind blinked awake.
"bloody fucking hell."
the brain fog lifted and your heart dropped. you were fully upright now and squinted at the figure in the dim light, trying to make out the familiar voice. you'd know this voice anywhere, from the countless moonlight nights in his arms and kisses in the rain. but it couldn't be. you pushed the hope that was rising in your chest.
his name escaped your lips, dry and crackly from having not spoken for days. "fred?"
he froze. you could cut the tension in the air with a knife.
"y/n?" fred's shaky voice called back. yes. it was him.
a sudden burst of energy surged through your body, and this time, you called out for him with all the strength you had. "fred! fred, i'm here!"
a flash of red hair in the dim light as he scrambled to his feet and ran to you. he was wrapped around you in a second, calling your name with the desperation built up over days of anguish.
your arms wrapped around his neck, and tears mingled as you pressed together as if trying to meld into one.
"fred, my love, is it really you?" you gasped through sobs.
"it's me, y/n, it's me baby. i'm here. oh merlin, you're alive. you're alive!" and then his lips were pressed against yours. you kissed him back as a weight lifted off your chest. you finally felt alive. he kissed you everywhere he could reach, your forehead, your cheeks, your nose, your lips, and you couldn't help but laugh, partly in relief, partly in disbelief. it felt good to laugh again.
george. lee. their names suddenly flashed through your mind, and you pulled back. panicked, you gasped, "the rest of them? the boys, are they -"
fred nodded furiously, "they're alright, they're with mom and dad right now. don't you worry your pretty head about them." you sighed in relief and sank into his chest. he pressed you again his body and in typical fred fashion, chuckled, "should i be worried you're thinking about them while you're kissing me?"
you laughed and gently hit his arm, which elicitted a sharp gasp of pain from fred. you pulled back in concern, and finally were able to really inspect his face. blood flowed from a gash on his forehead, only just beginning to stem and coating his cheek with sticky red. his left eye was turning a sickly shade of purple and cuts covered his arm. the arm you had hit was slightly bent at an unnatural angle.
you couldn't help but gasp as you ran your fingers over his wounds.
"merlin... what did they do to you? you look terrible!"
"thank you for that, baby." he grinned before stroking your face and running his eyes over your own relics of torture, his smile fading just slightly, "you look gorgeous yourself." he did mean that. of course you looked beautiful even with cuts and bruises all over your face.
he sighed when you didn't reply, and begrudgingly answered, "they did exactly what they do to people who turn up on their doorstep. they were very happy to see me, it was quite welcoming, actually." you sank down on your heels, lost for words.
"you... what?" tears brimmed in your eyes, and the joking glint in fred's eye disappeared.
"y/n-"
you covered your face with your hands and a muffled cry came out, "how could you, fred? how could you do that?" you were angry that he had risked his life to save you, that he had risked a world in which you would never see him again. "i could have figured it out, you shouldn't have done that."
fred gently took your hands in his, uncovering your face, but you refused to look him in the eyes. he gently replied, "i know you could, but you shouldn't have to. there is no world in which i wouldn't come after you, y/n. i'd cross every ocean, fight any death eater, go into any dark, gross, mouldy basement, just to find you." he kissed the top of your head and stroked your hair, and your anger melted away, just like that. your eyes slid shut as you leaned into the his chest and felt his heartbeat against your cheek.
every beat of his heart was confirmation that he really was with you now, and for the first time in days, you felt hope again. as long as you were together, you'd figure it out day by day, take each step together.
remus doesn’t particularly like when people touch him. it’s instinctual, protective. even when sirius slaps him on the back, laughing hysterically into his ear, when james piles onto him, drunk out of his mind at a post-quidditch-match party (usually slurring about how fantastically he played that day and throwing a snitch into the air that inevitably bumps into his forehead), or when peter backs into him during potions to escape the cloud of smoke, he flinches and pulls back.
the moment he realizes he's fallen for you is when you're walking together by the lake. it's cloudy that day and the air is thick with soon-coming rain. you're talking about everything and nothing at all, finding laughter in the most mundane things.
the moment he realizes he's fallen for you is when he makes a witty remark about lucius malfoy's oily pink scalp and you fold over, overcome with giggles. you bracing yourself on his chest, but he doesn't back away. he actually feels himself leaning into the warmth from your palms while desperately trying to hide the swarm of butterflies that flutter in his stomach. for a moment, the sun peeks out from behind the clouds and illuminates your crinkled eyes - or maybe that's just him.
from that moment, there isn't one day that goes by that he doesn't seek your touch. a brush of your fingers, your head on his shoulder, his arms wrapped around you, your warm lips pressed to his.

author's note: I LOVE FREDDIE! that's it, enjoy
"Hello, honey!" Mrs. Weasley ran at you with wide open arms. She pushed Fred out of her path, whose arms were also stretched towards his mother, and he clutched his heart and gasped loudly, feigning hurt.
"Mrs. Weasley!" You stretched your arms out to receive her, "You are looking absolutely beautiful this morning!" She scooped you up and almost knocked the breath out of your lungs, and the flowers you had brought her out of your hand. It was your first time meeting each other in person but you had been writing to her and Mr. Weasley in Fred's occasional letters home and she already loved you like a daughter.
A wide smile split her face and she breathlessly waved off your compliment while wiping a streak of flour from her cheek. "Oh honey, you are too kind, too kind!"
"Looks like you've been replaced, Freddie." George was lugging his large suitcase (weighed down by his and Fred's test products), and patted his brother's shoulder comfortingly.
Fred smirked lovingly at the sight of his mother bombarding you and replied, "None of us are surprised though are we Georgie? Can't blame her though."
Mr. Weasley burst out of the cottage and also bowled over Fred, whose fiery red hair was now rumpled from being knocked about. Arthur managed to knock over George's suitcase as well as he sped towards you. "Well, look who's here!" His excitement was twofold: number one, meeting his future daughter-in-law, and number two, finally being able to discuss muggle life with you.
Months ago, he had found out you were muggle-born and to no one's surprise, a four-foot-long letter arrived the very next morning, filled with questions about your muggle life. The letter was punctuated by an apology from Mrs. Weasley; you could practically hear her rolling her eyes. You were more than happy to oblige Mr. Weasley and had been writing him back and forth for months now, and it was now time for him to grill you in person.
He snatched both of your hands out of Mrs. Weasley's hands and shook them violently. "Y/n, y/n, I can't express enough how delighted I am to meet you finally, so very excited--"
"Alright everyone, okay if I have my girlfriend back?"
Fred pried you from Mr. Weasley's grasp and started to drag you away from his parents, but you remembered something. "Wait, wait!" Fred stared at you quizzically as you reached into your bag and rummaged around. You quickly found what you were looking for and pulled it out.
"For you, Mr. Weasley." You bowed low and presented the item to him. He gasped and clapped his hands in delight.
"A tellyfone!" A chunky gray Nokie lay in your hand. It was your parent's old phone and you had asked them to send it to you weeks ago to pass on to Mr. Weasley. He had mentioned his fascination with hand-held phones in his letters, and even though this one didn't work anymore, you knew he would absolutely lose his mind over it.
He was actually breathless as he carefully approached you, as if the phone would run away if he made any loud noise. "May... may I?"
You couldn't help but laugh at his wide eyes and shaking hands. You placed the phone in his hand and closed his fingers around it. "It's all yours, Mr. Weasley." His eyeballs nearly popped out of his head.
Fred took his chance to grasp your hand again and pull you away. You looked back and smiled at the sight of Mr. Weasley waving the phone in his hand and running to show it off to Mrs. Weasley, who was already backing away.
Fred stopped after a few feet and you felt yourself being spun around. He grabbed you by your waist and pulled you in to plant a huge kiss on your lips.
"Fred!" You blushed as he pulled away and you hastily glanced back at Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, nervous that they might have seen. He laughed and gazed at you adoringly.
"My dad's not letting my mom go any time soon, we're not going to see him until sundown." Indeed, Mr. Weasley was still in the throes of excitement as his wife plastered a smile on her face, not wanting to dull her husband's moment.
When you were satisfied that they would not notice, you gave in and threw your arms around his neck, "Fine, baby, give me another one." Fred happily obliged with another kiss, and you held him close as his passionate kiss nearly bent you backwards.
"Gross, guys. Get a room." Ron and Harry gagged as they passed the two of you and Ron called over his shoulder, "In fact, you do have a room! This is your house! Go to your room!"
Fred waggled his eyebrows at you. "He does have a point, y/n, might as well put it to use." With a mischievous cackle, he began dragging you inside with you pretending to protest behind him. Fred didn't think he could be any happier. He'd just had a glimpse into his future, and it was looking good.

It was not easy being Harry Potter's little sister.
Not in the way that people might think — you didn't have a problem with your brother being in the spotlight, that life seemed like a nightmare. As the daughter of Lily and James, you attracted quite a lot of attention anyway, but your brother, being the "Boy Who Lived," had a burning hot spotlight on him. Having less attention agreed with your quieter, shier disposition, especially after seeing what forced stardom put your brother through. You preferred to read quietly in the courtyard, do all of your homework on time and excel in your classes, and and keep your circle small. Your circle adored you — Harry doted on you and your friends loved you with all their hearts. The professors thought you were lovely, and the rest of the school saw you as a smart, friendly girl. Even Peeves left you alone, for the most part.
That fateful night, your mother had known who Voldemort was there for, and by sacrificing herself for Harry, had been able to protect the both of you. However, being at the Dursley's meant that you and Harry would have to continue on her last act act and protect each other. Dudley loved picking on you both, but especially you, the smaller of the two. You quickly proved that you had inherited your mother's bravery. Harry always tried to take the brunt of Dudley's abuse, but you were also fierce and had no problem baring your teeth when you had to. Even at your young age, you would stand up to Dudley whenever he hounded Harry, even though Dudley was twice your size. Sometimes that meant cutting him with your sharp tongue or letting your uncontrollable magic burst out of you. This would always earn you a week in the cupboard, but eventually, Dudley learned to not mess with you.
Harry was even more protective of you at school. Whenever Draco or his crew targeted you, he would whip his wand out faster than they could blink, or if he heard that Snape bullied you in class, he'd have no problem giving him an extra hard time in his class the next day.
Sometimes, it bothered you. Of course, he knew you were perfectly capable and was simply doing his job as your brother, and you loved him for it. But some days, you just wanted an outlet for the rage you carried around and Harry didn't let you have one. He'd say, y/n, I'm not letting you get in trouble because of your anger issues. It was probably good that he got in the way; you were one of the most talented witches Hogwarts had seen, and who knew what damage you were capable of causing if you flew off the handle?
It all came to a head when Harry told you he was leaving. He wouldn't tell you why, and that was the most infuriating part.
"Harry James Potter what do you mean you're not going to tell me why!" It was early morning at the Burrow but you did not care if you woke the entire house up. You stood in the middle of the room with your arms crossed and Harry's head was ducked; he was trying to escape that terrifying glint in your eyes.
"I told you, I can't tell you, y/n. Dumbledore—"
"It's always Dumbledore with you, Harry. Have you ever thought about how unfair it is that he is asking a seventeen year old to defeat one of the most powerful wizards of all time? SEVENTEEN."
"Well technically I'm not taking him out directly—"
"THEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Your voice rose and his eyes lowered in shame. The guilt was eating Harry alive; he had been wrapped around your finger since your birth and it was excruciating to not be able to tell you where he'd be, that perhaps this would be the last time you'd be together.
Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes and you broke. You rarely saw him like this, and you could not bear to push him any longer. There was no point, anyway. You knew your brother. You knew that unless he did this, unless he was the one to bring down Voldemort, he would be unhappy.
"Oh, Harry." You stepped forward and hugged him. He immediately squeezed you back and rocked you back and forth, the way he would comfort you when you were a child.
"I'm sorry, y/n. I want to tell you, I really do—“
"I know. I'm sorry. It's okay. You'll be okay."
"Harry, it's time to go." Hermione's voice called out softly from behind you. You wiped your tears before turning around. They were standing in the doorway, Hermione holding back tears and Ron looking at you somberly.
Harry pulled back and met your gaze with urgency. "Listen, y/n. If I don't—” But you already knew what he was going to say. You cut him off with a finger and he immediately fell silent. "Don't you dare. Don't be an idiot. I'm seeing you again, no matter what. You do not have a choice, you hear me?" He gulped and nodded. "I can't do this without you, Harry." The words were meant for him, but also for yourself, to try and convince yourself of them as well. Tears were falling fast down your face and you could barely see him or the tears streaking down his face, so you just hugged him again. Your brother would come back to you. He always did.
Harry forced himself to break the hug and pick up his bag. "Listen, y/n. I got in touch with Seamus. I asked him to take care of you."
"Harry, I don't need—” Now it was Harry's turn to give you a silencing look.
"I know you can take care of yourself. But Voldemort knows that you're my greatest weakness, and he will try to use you. I don't want to be sitting in a tent in the middle of nowhere wondering if you're okay, or if you're hurt, or dead, or if he got to you... please just give me this?"
You paused. This was the least you could do. You nodded and Harry sighed in relief. He held out his pinky and you linked your pinky with it, sealing your promise.
He stepped forward to kiss the top of your head and squeeze you one more time. You took a deep breath, trying to memorize the feeling of your brother. Too soon, Harry broke away. He hitched his bag higher on his shoulder and joined Hermione and Ron.
"I love you, toots." His childhood nickname for you. And then they were gone.
With a sob, you collapsed to the ground.
--
Harry's prediction was correct. Hogwarts had always been your safe house, but it had become a waking nightmare. Students hung their heads low in the halls and normally rowdy meals in the Great Hall were silent. Screams echoed through the castle every night. Professors tried their best to take care of all the students, but even their powers were overwhelmed and they could not keep up with everyone.
Normally you were a quiet girl, never wanting to attract attention to yourself, but you discovered that in times of fight or flight, you were fight. You allowed your rage to take over and became a fierce storm everywhere you went.
Under Voldemort's direct orders, the Carrows kept a close eye on you specifically. You weren't Harry Potter, but you were still a Potter, and Voldemort feared you.
Even under their close watch, you managed to help your fellow students whenever you could. Living with the Dursleys meant you had to learn to sneak around, and you had never thought that you time with them would be helpful, but it was now. Once, you helped some third years escape detention; detention used to be writing lines, but now was hours of fun for the Carrows. Another time, Ginny got caught hexing Crabbe and you covered up for her, landing you a week in detention. Harry was somewhere out there protecting the wizarding world from Voldemort, but you were at Hogwarts protecting the students. The only downside was that this all sent Seamus running around trying to do his job the best he could.
"Please, will you stop that, y/n!" Seamus hissed at you for the fifth time this morning. Alecto was sneering at you, and you were glowering right back at him as you walked to class. Nowadays, even one wrong look would land students punishment, so Seamus was jumping out of his skin trying to prevent that from happening. Again.
"Sorry Seamus, can't control it, this is just my face when I see ugly pigs." You said, loud enough for Alecto to hear. Seamus groaned and dragged you into a side hall where you would both be hidden. He grabbed you by your shoulders.
"I promised your brother I would watch out for you. I told him I would die before I'd let anyone hurt you, but I don't necessarily want to if I can help it. So could ya please please help me out here?" Seamus's thick accent grew almost incomprehensible as his desperation rose.
You huffed but thought of Harry and the promise you had made, plus the circles you had sent Seamus running in during the last few weeks. You conceded. "Fine, Seamus, I'll try to keep it to myself, but I can't guarantee anything."
His shoulders fell in relief. "'M guessing I won't be able to stop you all the time, so that's good enough for me."
You chuckled in response, "Wasn't it rude of my dear brother to put this all on you, wasn't it?"
Seamus replied, "Don't worry, I knew what I was walking into." He grinned. "Now madame, may I walk you to your next class?" He bowed low, head knocking against his knees, and you laughed for the first time today. You took his outstretched hand and curtseyed. "Yes my good sir, please, let us go." He offered his elbow and walked you to class with your hand nestled in the crook of his arm.
--
A few months passed, and the nightmare only grew worse. Every morning, you shot up in bed, drenched in a cold sweat, thinking of Harry. Was he alive? Was he lost and helpless? Freezing in the middle of nowhere or being tortured by a Death Eater or one of the poachers? Every morning you wracked your brain in hopes you'd find a way to reach him, but the attempts were futile. Usually, these thoughts faded as soon as you made your way out of the common room to Seamus, who was always waiting for you with a smile on his face. He walked you to all your meals and your classes, and you tried for his sake, to reel yourself in and stay out of trouble.
His constant presence took some getting used to. You were so used to independence, but you quickly learned to enjoy your time with him. Seamus didn't tell you, but he secretly thanked Harry every day for assigning him this task. Because of Harry, he could spend his entire day escorting you places, sharing meals with you, and making you laugh to try and pull you out of the darkness, even for a few minutes.
As it turns out, there had been no need to worry about your protection. It seemed the whole of Hogwarts had realized the danger you would be in for being who you were, and rose up to protect the Potter name. Neville and Ginny had immediately stepped in to look out for you whenever they could. Former DA members helped as well with the skills they had learned from Harry. Hagrid never stopped protecting you. The professors were always in your vicinity and if you were ever in trouble, were the first ones at the scene. You wished you could tell Harry all of this, so he wouldn't have to worry about you.
One evening, you were walking back to your room with Seamus like you did every night, laughing and giggling about some stupid joke he made.
Suddenly, someone cut you off. Your eyes travelled up until they met Amycus Carrow's leering smile. You felt Seamus's hand grab your arm and pull you closer.
"Well, well. The other Potter. How are we this evening?"
You were strangely calm as you shot back, "Fine and dandy, professor. How are you?" Amycus was not thrilled at seeing someone this calm around him and his tiny pig-eyes narrowed in discontent.
"Back off." Seamus hissed and slid his hand towards his wand in his back pocket.
Amycus noticed Seamus for the first time, and turned his attention to the red-faced boy. "Oho, and your little boyfriend is here too? What a treat! Unfortunately, my sister has kindly requested only miss Potter's presence, so I will have to separate you, just for the night." Amycus's hand started to reach out for you, but Seamus had already whipped out his wand.
"LIKE HELL YOU WILL!" There was a flash of red, and Amycus flew back and slammed into the ground. You whirled around and yelled, "You idiot, Seamus! Why would you do that!" You grabbed your wand and pointed it at the Death Eater as well, who was already rising to his feet. There was a new glint of fury in his eye.
"Yes, Seamus, why would you do that?"
Neither you or Seamus dared to move. A terrifying smile spread wide across Amycus's face.
"Casting a spell against a professor is against the rules, Mr. Finnigan. Grounds for detention," Amycus paused and stroked his chin before continuing, "But no... I don't think that would be enough punishment for you, hm? No, I don't think so. I think I will have to punish your girlfriend instead--"
"NO!" Seamus moved to hit Amycus with another spell, but before he could utter a word, there was another flash of red light and Seamus crumpled unconscious to the ground.
"SEAMUS!" You lunged towards him but you were a step too slow; Amycus's rough hands closed around your arm and started dragging you away. You thrashed with all your might, but he was too large and too strong.
"SOMEBODY HELP HIM, PLEASE!" You sobbed as you fought, but everyone was still at dinner, no one could hear you.
"No one is coming to help him, Miss Potter. When he wakes up, you'll be long gone."
A surge of anger streaked through your body and you managed to grab onto his arm. Amycus yelled in pain as you threw your weight and twisted his shoulder in an unnatural direction, and in that split second, you were able to swing around and punch him straight in the crotch.
He howled with rage and doubled over. You wiggled out of his grip and whipped out your wand, but even in his pain, Amycus was quick.
He grabbed you by your throat and squeezed.
"You bitch." He slammed you against the stone wall and dragged you upwards so your feel were dangling off the ground. Your wand clattered to the ground. You couldn't make a sound, couldn't even try to breathe. All you could do was claw at his hand. "I want the last thing you see to be my face. You have no chance, Potter. I will watch you struggle as you die slowly and painfully, and then I'll throw your rotting body in front of your brother before the Dark Lord finishes him." You wanted to scream for help, for anyone, for Harry, but you couldn't. Black spots started blurring your vision and you could feel yourself fading. No matter how hard you had fought, no matter how much Seamus had done for you, how much everyone had done, this was it. You had been caught, and now you were going to pay.
You were too weak to fight anymore. Upon seeing the life start to leave your eyes, Amycus began to grin, drunk on power. You closed your eyes, waiting for the end, trying to picture something other than his horrible smile...
Suddenly, you were on the ground. You coughed and gagged violently as air rushed back into your lungs. As you laid your head on the ground, lungs screaming, you felt a body hit the ground a few feet away with a thud.
"Y/n!" Seamus was somehow beside you, stroking your hair. You were able to slowly regain full consciousness, and with a groan, push yourself up. Seamus immediately propped you up and held your face in both of his hands, inspecting it to make sure you were really alive. There was terror in his roaming eyes as he frantically looked over you. When he was satisfied you were alright, he let out a huge sigh of relief and pulled you to him. You leaned against his chest and realized you were soaking his sweater with your tears.
"Y/n... y/n... I'm so sorry," Seamus's voice cracked, "I should have known... I should have been more careful, I should have been faster." You wanted to comfort him, but you couldn't get any words out. He held you in his arms as you cried and he shook against you.
"We must go now, miss Potter." Professor Mcgonagall's voice came from above, and you looked up, surprised. You hadn't noticed that she was the one who had cast the spell to blast Amycus aside. She calmly straightened her robes, then offered her her hand to you. She pulled you up with a surprising strength.
"P-professor?" As you regained your footing, you stared, bewildered, at her. Her eyes were stern and fiery, but her lips were turned up into a gentle smile.
"Did you really think Amycus could outsmart me, miss y/n?" You shook your head violently but stopped when it started making you dizzy. Seamus held you up and explained, "She was the one who found me. She brought me back and found you. She's going to help us with plan B."
You were confused. There was no where to go except away from Hogwarts, and even then, the Death Eaters would track you down, no problem. "Plan B?"
He took both of your hands in his and said, "Yes, we made a plan, just in case this exact thing happened."
"Who is we?"
"Us. Me, Neville, Luna, Ginny. All of us came up with a plan in case your life was ever threatened, but we need to go now."
He dug out a galleon from his pocket, the one the DA had used to communicate just two years prior, and turned it in his hand.
"It'll alert them to activate the plan. They'll meet us there. Now, I know it hurts, but I need you to push through for just a little bit longer, 'kay?" He glanced up at Professor Mcgonagall and started to explain, but before he could tell her the plan, she held up her hand and said, "Mr. Finnigan, I do not know what the plan is and I do not want to know. All I must know is that you with both be safe." You knew exactly what she was thinking; if she somehow ended up in the hands of the death eaters, there was a possibility — a slim one, but still a possibility — that the information could be forced out of her. Seamus closed his mouth and nodded.
She nodded curtly, satisfied, and said, "Come with me, you two." You and Seamus ran after Professor Mcgonagall's billowing robes. When you reached your destination, she turned to you and said, "Miss Potter, never lose that resilience of yours. The world may cycle through terrible times such as these, but resilience and hope is what keeps it together." Her eyes softened, and she whispered, so quietly that you thought for a moment she might be talking to herself, "I see your brother in you, miss Potter, and your mother and your father. I always have, and I always will. Never lose the hope, never lose it."
To Professor Mcgonagall's amusement and delight, you tackled her with a hug. She hid her tears and watched until she disappeared safely into your room. Back in your room, you began to pack. You threw some clothes into your bag, along with a few random toiletries, and rummaged through your underwear drawer for the DA coin. You picked up the weighty thing and felt the coolness in your hand. Then your eyes roamed to a photograph that lay hidden underneath a pile of socks.
The picture had been taken last Christmas, before everything had fallen apart, when you had started to finally allow yourself to believe you could find peace and happiness. You and Harry were sitting arm-in-arm in front of the fireplace at the Burrow, clad in that year's hand-knit sweaters from Mrs. Weasley, Christmas pants, and fluffy socks. In the picture, you and Harry were reeling with laughter at something Fred was saying. A brother and a sister, thrust into a life of chaos they never asked for. A last moment of happiness that would at least last in that picture.
You paused for a second and ran your fingers along the photograph, feeling pang of emptiness in your chest at the memory. Tears threatened to spill out of your eyes, but you gulped it down. You would have time to cry later.
You forced yourself out of the trance, then shoved the galleon into your pocket and the photo into your bag, as well as the sweater from Mrs. Weasley, before rushing out to meet Seamus.
He wasted no time and grabbed your hand. "This way." He led you out of the tower and down the halls through a vaguely familiar path, and it didn't take long before you realized where you were running to, the spot you would frequent years ago for DA meetings.
You and Seamus skidded to a halt in the hallway and he began muttering, "I need somewhere to hide students where Death Eaters can't get in. I need somewhere to hide students where Death Eaters can't get in. I need somewhere to hide—"
"YOU PIECES OF SCUM!" Alecto's roar of rage bounced off the walls and you whipped your wand out in preparation.
"Seamus, don't know if you heard, but we have a friend joining us." Seamus nodded and began to whisper more quickly under his breath.
"YOU FILTHY COCKROACHES, I SWEAR TO THE DARK LORD AND ALL THE DARK FORCES IN THIS WORLD I WILL MANGLE YOU BOTH." Her voice was getting dangerously close and you could now feel her feet pounding on the floor.
"Y/n, here!"
You whirled around and saw that a door had appeared. It swung open on its own and you grabbed Seamus's outstretched hand. He pulled you in, and the door slammed shut, sealing the room to the outside world, just in time.
You both slid down the wall, hand in hand. Your heart was pounding with fear but also exhilaration, and you glanced over at Seamus, who was also panting, forehead slick with sweat. He caught your eye and smiled, and despite the panic you had felt mere seconds ago, you couldn't help but smile back.
"You did it, Seamus." You let yourself collapse onto his shoulder. He wrapped an arm around you and drew you closer to rest his cheek on your head.
"We did it."
"You're right, I pissed off Amycus and got us into this mess."
Seamus lifted his head off of you and tugged your chin up to look him in the eyes. "Don't you dare blame this on yourself, y/n. He deserved it and you did what you had to do, you always have. And I love you for it."
As the last sentence slipped out of his mouth, you gaped; his face which was turning pinker by the minute as he realized what he had said. Thankfully, a dreamy voice floated towards you.
"Why, hello! You've made it!" You turned and saw Luna standing in front of you with a small smile. Her hair was messy and her clothes were slightly rumpled, but she seemed otherwise unfazed.
Neville's voice came from the far side of the room, "Oh, thank Merlin, we were beginning to think you weren't going to make it." You watched, stunned, as he came out of a passageway in the wall that swallowed itself up as soon as he stepped out. His left eye was purple and swollen and his pants were torn at the knee, but he was still grinning. He held a platter of bread and meats, as well as a couple bottles of butterbeer.
"Neville? I... how did you..."
"Oh this," Neville waved his hand casually at the wall, "Luna and I had no time to pack any food before coming here and as we were thinking about what to do, this passageway opened up. Turns out it leads to Hog's Head. Dumbledore's brother apparently runs the place, did you know that?! He gave us the food. Said we could come whenever we needed, but didn't seem too thrilled about it."
All you could do was stare, and he shot you a crooked smile and dragged a small dusty table from the corner to set the tray down on.
Luna motioned for you to join. "Come eat, y/n. You need food and rest."
Seamus coughed from beside you and rose to his feet. As he pulled you up, he said, "She's right, and we need to figure out what to do about that bruise on your throat." The only indication of his profession of love was his cheeks, still blushing. He led you to a seat, then grabbed a loaf of bread and tore a piece off, one for you, one for him. He flopped down next to you and let out a groan of relief that rivaled Aunty Muriel's.
Luna was still gazing at you, and in between slow bites, said, "I'll take a look at your neck after you eat, y/n. I don't have much practice in healing but I've read a lot about it. It should be fun to try!"
You nodded hesitantly, not very confident you wanted Luna experimenting on you, and choked on a laugh when you turned to see Neville's look of horror and apprehension.
Seamus leaned in and whispered into your ear, "Don't worry, I'll protect you from her too." You playfully hit his knee, and it was your turn to blush when you met his soft gaze. His face was inches away and you could practically feel his soft breath on you. Your hand was still resting on his knee.
Suddenly Neville coughed loudly and you both jumped apart. Suppressing a smirk, he said, "If everyone could keep in mind this is a room of requirement, that would be wonderful. A room." You hastily tore at your bread and Seamus choked on a piece of sausage. Luna's dreamy expression had a knowing look hidden underneath.
You shoved the bread down your throat and swallowed painfully. "Thank you guys for everything you've been doing. I hate that you've had to risk your lives..." Neville waved you off and said, "You forget that we could have chosen not to do this. No one forced us and we're doing this because we want to." Luna nodded in agreement.
You held back tears as a wave of gratitude washed over you. Seamus noticed your silence and slid his arm around your shoulders.
"We're sticking with you no matter what, okay? It's not just because of Harry either, we just care about you. And you can't stop us, so don't even try." Luna rubbed your arm consolingly and Neville leaned awkwardly across the table to pat your hand.
Neville smiled and said, "Eat up while we have all this, there should be a few others joining us soon."
For the first time in a while, you were able to enjoy your meal, surrounded by friends, in a safe place. For a few minutes there, you even started to feel something you thought you had lost. Hope.
