What she says: I’m fine

What she means: Even if Lucas and Yuugo were both prepared to die fighting the Ratri at B06-32, they probably intended to try to survive and rendezvous with the kids— but from the moment Lucas was hit, Yuugo completely abandoned the desire to make it out alive. He was a good enough shot and survivalist that he’d probably have been able to take out the remaining hitmen and escape if he’d gotten his hands on another weapon, and he knew the shelter well enough that he probably could have worn them out and hunted them down individually instead of blowing up the whole place. There were weapons hidden in every room and likely in the tunnels. He only went for the armory after Lucas took a grenade blast, and the reason he did wasn’t to arm himself again, but to get to the gas outlet. He knew Lucas was gonna die and so he bet all his remaining cards on a plan that would totally ensure both Emma’s survival and his own death. He sacrificed his life without a second of hesitation, defying every instinct that was beaten into his head for 13 years prior to meeting Emma, to make sure that Lucas never felt alone or abandoned again and that the kids could all escape. Yuugo’s character development over the short course of his arc is absolutely devastating and beautiful, please take a moment to appreciate what an incredible character he is
