“When you’re going over and over stuff and I’m not there, like, and you’re by yourself. I worry.”

“There’s nothing to worry about.” Fear settles in Louis’s chest. He’s got to get better at it, at hiding the broken bits from Nick. The bits that’ll fuck them up. “You don’t need to worry.”

Nick presses his mouth to Louis’s temple. “You can talk to me. About anything.”

Louis isn’t sure how true that is, and he’s not about to test it out. “I know,” he says, instead.

“Just try and do it sometimes, all right? Boyfriends, innit? Got to be a bit of talking there sometime.”

That fear that’s settled in his chest spikes. It’s an effort to not let it show on his face. “I’ll do better,” he says. “I swear.”
