I think about Jennifer's Body a lot. It suffered so much from misogyny: poor marketing from misogyny, misogyny against Megan Fox, and I'm assuming monumental misogyny behind the scenes because it was directed by a woman. It blew my mind when I saw it probably around 5 yrs ago.

The British American np having found a wounded baby hawk or falcon (haven't decided which yet) and nursing it back to health. The English np guiding them in teaching how to train the bird. Those memories of bonding between parent and child forever haunting the nps to come. The bird becoming immortal but only ever listens to those from the original British American bloodline.

The War of 1812 being personal.

The English bloodline seeking revenge against the American one. Effectively ending the bloodline that tied them together. Albeit, on accident, but it ruined the relationship between the English np and any American np afterwards. The bird vanishes and is inly seen every once and a while. It'll hover, but doesn't obey well to new American np's. The Civil War only makes it worse till the bird becomes a myth.

Over a century later and Alfred is now the np and the bird pops back up and is very loving towards him.
