Can you give a tutorial/your thoughts/tips when you color your eyes? I love that you dont use pure white for eyes because its soothing and shows the highlights really well, but when i try to do that the eyes look really messed up xp Thank you!

this is just a super basic method I use when coloring eyes :P ALSO when I use words like warm and cool, I’m referring to the colors, not the temp

A few colour and lighting experiments i’m doing while i work on a tutorial for simple shading, knowing what you think might help me improve it! These are all using the same base colours and the same technique but in different ways, i’ll cover that in the tutorial.

Hey Sora! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to make plaid design ilke what you did for the suadwm plaid shirts :3

Aright so heres what ive been doing through all suadwm thats been working for me. First drawing your article of clothing in the desired color you want the pattern to be in:

Then i make the pattern on layers clicked off as “Clipping Group” so they stay on the shirt layer like this:

I then select a darker red and draw the first stripes of the pattern. I prefer to start with the thickest stribe on my pattern (though flannel patterns can differ). I like to make the direction of the stribes different where the fabric on a shirt would be turned, like the sleeves in a different direction from the torso. I then set the opacity down a little (in this example opacity 73%) :

Then a new layer, also in the clipping group, I select a darker red, this one almost black and draw new slimmer stripes going in the opposite direction of the previous ones. I also set the opacity down a bit on these so the stripes overlap each other:

I repeat this in as many colors and thickness of stripes as i want on my pattern, in this example a light red:

And in the end you get this result! I like to take a color that differs a lot from the original color just to add a little extra spark (in this case it’s yellow):

I’m not super good with making tutorials so I hope it can be understood ;v;

well I just got here and all but I'd sort of like a tutorial on how you do shading and highlights? yours is really good, and I can't really shade or anything, so if you could explain how you do that, that might be cool? no pressure of course!

Hey, there! Just saw your animated comic of MLB and I'm totally and utterly in love with it. Sorry to bother you but I really wanna know how do you make some panels animated? Is it weird to say I love the way you draw hands?? Like the gif where lance is rubbing Keith’s shoulder? I love it so much! Drawing hands are soooo hard for me lol

If it’s hard for you, here are a few posts to help you out! (You’ve probably seen them going around, but here you go anyway, all together (kinda)) [x] [x] [x] Use refs, and keep practising. At some point, you won’t really need references anymore. I’m halfway there, and it’s such a satisfying feelingfhjsdk. And if I made it, well, then, so can you. I believe in you <3

Tips on shading?

Hmm you’re incredibly vague so I just did a process thing. Hope this helps! Also generally don’t shade with black/gray unless you know there’s a certain look you’re going for.

okay your art is so good and i'm an artist and i'm not sure what my style is, would you ever publish bases or maybe step by step drawings of hands or hair for example? it would really help me out, love your artwork

aw man thanks anon!!! hmm im not the best artist out there but i can try to give u some tips!

-this is just my opinion, but only use bases as references and dont actually use em! learning from scratch would help u alot more

-hair has mass/volume (unless like the character is balding/is designed that way/etc) , idk how to explain but heres an example:

-try using ur own hands as reference! dont be afraid to look up references if u need em theres like a million of them online

-if u cant figure smth out break them down into basic shapes first then start from there (kudos to @firecrier for this tip btw!!!) for ex:

and honestly i suck at hands but honestly just keep practicing i actually developed how i draw hands from making danganronpa sprites lol but uhh i usually just draw things from scratch like no basic lines or anything unless im practicing my anatomy but ye!! hope this helped!

EDIT: EXTRA TIP DONT WORRY ABOUT FINDING AN ART STYLE!!!! JUST STUDY AND PRACTICE AND YOULL EVENTUALLY FIND IT ALONG THE WAY!!!
