My web portfolio is out in the world now! It's a bit silly, but I'm fairly happy with it. Wish my luck on college acceptance y'all.
(Yes I used Canva, so what!! It worked for what I needed, is free, and doesn't have a massive popup like wixx or weebly)
Week 10
At last, it is complete.
There better not be any horrible mistakes I failed to notice.
Still happy with it! Thank you for joining me throughout these last 6 months as I developed my film. I had a blast.
Week 10
At last, it is complete.
There better not be any horrible mistakes I failed to notice.
WEEK 9
WE'RE ALMOST THERE FELLAS!!!!! Here is the entire film exported but not timed out. Next week it should be complete??? I think I had a couple oversights but I don't know.
I don't think it'll be 6 minutes long by the time I'm done with it. At least I sure hope it isnt for the sake of maintaining viewer attention.
Week 8
I have started coloring, but I was surprised with concert tickets two nights in a row and so my plans to finish sort of went out the window. The good news is that I am a little over halfway done and it took me only 3 hours to do the first half (with audio book, when I tried to do it without an audio book I got a lot less done). I'm going to push up my work days so I can get myself back on track. Rather than exporting the entire film with green bgs, here is a clip showing what my coloring process looks like. I feel like its a bit hard to watch in the state that it's in.
Week 7
Here's what I got for the week. This coming week I'm gonna color and add special effects! And add my missing backgrounds as I go along.
Week 6
Similar to last week, I exported before filling in backgrounds so please forgive the emptiness for the time being. Also, I keep forgetting to switch my export to 12 fps, so it is still a bit fast. Next week (Nov 11) I should have act 3 inked so that by November 18th I am sufficiently done with my film so that it can stand on its own. All I will have left at that point is polishing.
Week 5
I'm not feeling great, but my animation is going pretty well! I'm sorry for the delay, I could have sworn I submitted my update. Here is Act 2 scenes 3 to 5 (unadjusted for time, that will come week 9).
Week 3 (cont.)
Please read previous post first!
Here is my work at 12 frames per second
Week 3 and 4
I unfortunately had some medical concerns last week and was unable to post anything. Here is the work I've done over the last two weeks so far. If I do any more, I will update again formally for week 3. I have two speeds for this section that have influenced how I feel about the pacing of my film drastically. I've come to the realization I much prefer most, if not all of my film at 12 frames per second. I did make this on twos at 24 frames per second, but I like the way it feels at 12. Of course, some places feel really dragged out so I'll have to go back later and remove frames, but I prefer that to feeling like everything is way too fast.
Week 2
I decided to be rid of the little evil shadow dance in the beginning. I feel like it ultimately didn't add enough to warrant keeping it, rather, it looked a bit awkward and out of place. Instead, I think I'm going to go back and add crashing noises to imply violence. Another thing to note is that I will likely extend the frames in which Sweater is standing at the bottom of the house so that the argument can be mostly done before they run off. I'll fix up the audio toward the end of the quarter.
Note to self: my character line art is size 8 with the square brush, everything else is size 3 with a round brush
Post Production Week 1
We're gonna do it this time fellas, I'm not falling behind!

Here is the most recent version of my film. There is still plenty of work to be done.

WEEK 11!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS IT FELLAS!!!! It is 3 AM and I have finally completed my rough. While watching, I ask that you have grace with me and ignore that very obvious scuffed quality of the film. I could not find some of my original frames so I had to improvise and the drastic change in quality is as a result of said improvisation. All this to say, I hope you enjoy the show.
mmmmm crunchy video quality... WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CREDITS????????????? I dont wanna leave anyone uncredited but also I am exhausted so here are screen shots from the video that youtube didn't want out there for some reason.
Take that youtube
Here's the updated video with the correct file uploaded to youtube. I may or may not be embarrassed.
