Jackson knew little about her, but he knew that notebook seemed like her life source. And that she was pretty weird. His hands were occupied by a clipboard and a patient chart. Both of which he wasn’t sure he was willing to share. She looked over his shoulder, and he gave a quirk of his eyebrow at her. His neuro case.

“Craniotomy with Shepherd. First neuro patient since we’ve got here. You still on trauma today?”

She recognized the look on his face. She’d seen it many times before. April didn’t try to be nosy, it simply came naturally. Jackson was being protective over his case and she was getting in the way of that. He didn’t want to share. “Uh yeah...Lexie is with my patient. I mean, our patient. I’m waiting for his labs” She stammered, tucking her hand behind her ear as she shifted back and forth on her feet. “Craniotomy huh? With Shepherd. That’s great. I mean, wow. First day. WOW.”
