Sinners.
Outcasts.
That's who Jesus came for, not the 'righteous'.
The Pharisees were shocked: "This is the one sent from God?"
Yes, the one sitting with tax collectors & sinners.
They thought the Messiah would avoid the broken.
But Jesus chose to eat with them.
He didn't come to sit in temples.
He came to walk with the hurting.
He came to save the very people religion tried to avoid.
"It's the sick who needs a doctor.”
You don't have to be perfect to walk with Jesus.
We fall. He heals. 🤍
Mark 2:13-17
Never water down or minimize the mighty Gospel of God by considering that people may be misled by certain statements. Present the Gospel in all its fullness and God will guard His own truth.
Oswald Chambers
(Galatians 5:17)
The children of Israel who God delivered from bondage in Egypt saw God move in ways no other generation had the honor to see. For them He parted the Rea Sea before there eyes; He feed them with food from heaven; He quenched their thirst by turning rocks into water; He even came down from heaven to give them His holy commandments and to make Himself known, personally.
All God ever wanted to do was bless that generation with the best of all His blessings, but their sin nature constantly rebelled against Him. That entire generation died off in the wilderness going around in circles, having never received the promise of God.
Our sinful nature is the part of us that we MUST allow to died daily. Our greatest mistake is having a passive attitude towards the parts of us that seek to rebel against God. We can't debate or reason with our sin nature. If we give our sin nature 2 inches, it will take 10 feet. We can NEVER satisfy sinful additions, habits, and ways. There is no such thing as "just one more time" with the sinful nature. If the sinful nature is the part of you that's calling the shots, rest assured it will cause you to miss out on something you would rather have.
(Exodus 3:11-12)
One of the things I find interesting about the life of Moses is that he went from a man of great significance, to no significance, to even greater significance. Who he was in Egypt was nothing compared to who he was in God. In Egypt, he took orders from Pharaoh, but in God he was the one giving Pharaoh orders.
But before Moses became that great man of God, he had to go through a season of being a nobody. Highly educated, but now watching over sheep. Use to royalty, but now living in the wilderness. Privileged his whole life, but now average like all the rest.
Without a doubt this had to have been the worse part of Moses' life. But it was there, in his insignificance, where God was preparing him for greatness. Before walking in his divine calling, the greatest honor Moses had was being in the same room with Pharaoh, but in his divine calling he was greater than Pharaoh, and the highest honor Pharaoh ever had was to being in the same room with Moses, only he just didn't know it.
When God is working on you to prepare you for what He created you for, you will have seasons of insignificance. But God is working on you in ways you just can't see or detect. He's emptying you of self and filling you with His spirt and all the necessities you'll need to carryout your calling.

GOD will put you in a position where you don't have to beg, borrow or struggle.
I love it when GOD interrupts my thoughts and reminds me that the battle is not mine, but His.
