Running a tired hand through her hair, Liz slid into an empty booth in the far back corner of the diner, placing her overstuffed bag next to her as she took in a deep breath. Doing her best to center herself, she reached for the menu, plucking it from its holder on the table as her eyes scanned the options. Feeling a set of eyes on her, she looked up, readying a smile. “Long day.” She laughed, shrugging. “Thankfully we’ve managed to make it to Spring Break, though. It may seem menial, but I’ll take the win where I can get it.” Offering a tight-lipped smile, she dropped her eyes momentarily. “So, come here often?” Liz joked, knowing full well this was just about the only diner open in town.Â
