Lila McKenzie

My name is Lila Mckenzie. I was born in 1899 in New York and spent half my life working as a burlesque dancer until my life changed drastically. Not long after I had turned 41 I was attacked in an alley where I was smoking. I was turned into a vampire and was taught how to live as a vampire by a man named Ewan who eventually became my mate. We now run the club I used to work at as well as a small apartment complex.

  Ewan pursed his lips together and pondered on the question, taking a glance out to the window beside his desk before looking back to his wife. “We could do interviews or something of the sort. Make sure that they seem like trust worthy people. Besides. The doors to the club will be locked and have alarms on them at night.” He then unfolded his arms and reached out with his right hand to Lila’s hand. “Neither of us exactly have an ability to detect lies. But like I said. It’d be a trust factor. Not entirely sure if we could keep Lucas under house control… Seems to have a mind of his own. And an appetite to match.”

"I’m not worried about the club, darling. I’m worried that the humans might discover what we are or that Lucas might lose control” Lila said taking her husband’s hand. “It would come in handy to have such an ability at the moment” Even though it would definately have come in handy to have a lie dector gift Lila was happy that he was not one of the gifted vampires. It seemed like they never got a break, that someone or something was always after them.

                                        [ @immortalburlesquedancer ]     Ewan looked up from this computer desk and placed the paper that was in in hand down before looking towards Lila. “If my numbers are correct, we seem to be financially stable once again. Which is good. Means we can stay right here.” He crossed his arms over his chest and let out a sigh of relief. “– Since the building has extra apartments. We could very well rent them out to people. That would bring in more money. As much as I have a good paying job and all, it can be a little bit stressful with the club and all. Though, we seem to be getting more business again.”

"Business is picking up, I assume people are finally starting to realize the difference between a burlesque club and a strip club” Lila said still in a bit of a bad mood after the incredibly rude costumer she had to deal with earlier. “Are you sure renting out the extra apartments is a good idea?” she asked before sitting down on his desk. “Not that I mind, but how do we know the people are trustworthy and won’t ruin what took us so much time to build up?”

“I do no tolerate this kind of behaviour at my club. Either you leave my girls alone or I will personally kick you out. And when I say kick I mean it literally” Lila said to the costumer that was behaving extremely badly and she noticed more than one of the girls as well as other costumers that got uncomfortable.

"Not entirely sure how to put this. But last week I was walking down the street, and I ran into a little girl. She didn’t have a home- I’ve gone to the police station and such. No reports were filed of a missing child. I was wondering since she didn’t have any place to go. and we have a couple spare rooms in our apartment. She could stay with us. I know it’s a risky move. And I tend to have a habit of doing this. But none of the other’s seemed to stay."

"A human child Ewan? It is far too dangerous. What if one of us lose control and slaughters her? how do you plan on explaining that if her parents start missing her or if someone finds her? The Volturi will kill us"
