BIOGRAPHY

‷ Watch out , Imogen Simon has crash-landed into Roswell !! They look twenty-five years old and celebrate their birthday on March 20th. They are from Big Bear Lake, CA, reside in Neptune Avenue and are currently working as an aquarist and researcher. One thing you should know about them is they competed in the 2016 summer olympics as a swimmer."

Born in Big Bear, CA. Adopted by a single dad named Isaac shortly after she was born. Together they were a dynamic duo through the years.

Isaac was a marine-life rescuer who would travel all around the globe for conservation and environmental advocacy and assistance. Imogen travelled in tow since she was a babe and quickly fell in-love with marine life herself.

Due to the constant travel, she was homeschooled and was incredibly mature for her age. Constantly being around adults, she wasn't afraid to ask questions and became rather inquisitive and intelligent with age.

When she was eight years old, her father was approached by the Discovery Channel. For the next ten years together they traveled to aquariums around the globe to help improve the facilities, education, and care of the animals. (Think Steve Irwin meets Hell's Kitchen).

Imogen was his sidekick on the show and began to grow her own following by teaching kids about marine life and conservation.

By the time she was 18, Isaac and Imogen Simon were household names have been invited to a handful of experiences and events, and the show came to an end. She went off to college and Isaac sought love for himself and early retirement.

Went to college in Boston where she studied marine science. Is wanting to make her own name a part from her father.

Has been in Roswell since college working at the aquarium that had helped out when she was twelve years old. She found the town to be one of the most unique places she's ever been and figured it would be a great start for her own career.

Works as an aquarist and researcher at the aquarium. Favorite part is getting to educate kids about marine-life and to see their engagement.

Known to be a bit socially awkward, but means well. Considered to be intelligent, diplomatic, considerate and empathetic. Also has the tendency to be non-confrontational and sometimes self-pitying.

Enjoys sea creature more than people, likes a nice cup of tea, and swims regularly. On her downtime, she runs a Youtube account where she vlogs as well as has a podcast and does photography for fun.

With three of her coworkers sick and calling out, it left Imogen with the task of picking up the slack and making sure all the animals were fed and properly placed for the evening. Due to being shorthand, she sent out an SOS hoping that some loving sea animals and picking up the tab for dinner at the café later would bring a friend or two out. Walking towards the entrance, se smiled as she watched her assistant for the next few hours show up. “This is your last chance to back out. Once you cross this threshold, you are trapped in helping me feed all the friends,” she smirked. Of course she was kidding. It would just mean that she wouldn’t be heading out of here until rather late. “We can start at your favorite animal first!”

Malia figured-- what was the harm? She could do this. She wasn’t even afraid. That is, until she gets there and starts thinking about the terrible things that could end up with her one less finger. “Okay, talk me through what I’m supposed to do again?” she asks, taking a deep breath and trying to shake her whole body out. Pumping herself up she shrugs. “Let’s start with whatever doesn’t have like teeth or stingers or any thing,” she decides. “I can work my way up that way and maybe won’t squeal like a little girl.” Malia knows she’s still going to squeal like a little girl but she’s hoping to hold off until there’s actually something to yelp about. “I still can’t believe I agreed to this.”

“You’ll just help me prepare the feeds and help distribute it out to the different animals in their enclosures.” Imogen could tell that Malia was nervous, but she didn’t blame her. This wasn’t anything usual for them and at this rate for the Simon, it was another day of her life. Being around animals since she was three, nothing truly fazed her. It was only on the rare occasions when any of the creatures acted out of character for their personality that it could sometimes be alarming. However, she had the utmost patience for those under her care, wanting to make sure that they were taken care of properly, even if it meant she’d be at the aquarium past midnight.

“We can start with our two large fish tanks then,” she chuckled. There were two groups of fishes that were circulated between the larger tanks and colonized ones. On her list she had split with Tyler, her fellow aquarist, Imogen said she could manage the fish tanks. “Don’t worry, anything that you don’t feel comfortable with, I can handle. I do appreciate your help!”

“No, not at all. That was rather impressive,” Imogen replied, applauding the others for shutting the egomaniac down. She was enjoying her fries and salad at the bar top, watching her requested channel of English soccer. Her dad was an Englishman himself and through his diehard love for Manchester United, Imogen too was one who regularly followed the game. Promising the bartender that she would give his niece a behind-the-scenes look of the dolphin exhibit, she got the game turned on.

“I never understood why people feel they have the privilege to invade people’s space and assume they have the right to treat people horribly.” Gen had heard too many horror stories about men approaching women and being declined. Toxic masculinity was repulsive and they needed to learn a thing or two. “You handled that very well though, so good on you.”

It wasn’t that Tiziri cared about how she came across or even what others opinions of her were, she had made such obvious throughout the entirety of her life and even more so in the past fifteen years of career building, many an opportunity ‘lost’ due to an inability to cut herself into bite sized pieces. She was, however, cautious of causing discomfort to those who were unjustly within her line of fire — especially in the case of females younger than herself, a preference to inspire rather than frighten those who she could have just as easily been years prior.  “Mm…” It would be easy to get into a spiel about celebrities and the lack of privacy that some argued they had chose for themselves, but she wasn’t sure this could be brought down to something so simple, some men having a tendency to act a certain way no matter the status of the female that had caught their attention. “Unfortunately, a lot of men seem to think that they’re either desired by all or simply entitled to whatever they like. Even more unfortunate, for them, I’m not afraid to let them know otherwise.”

“Well it’s refreshing, I’ll add it to my own playbook of declining people.” Albeit, not many were bold enough to approach her freely without the context of using who she was. Not that it was their fault or anything, but it would be nice to not be approached with ‘Wow! Your Imogen Simon. I love you and your dad.’ More than not they liked her father and wanted the chance to ask about more details about their favorite episode or an aquarium they had visited. It was exhausting, especially because she had to put up a facade that she was delighted they wanted to talk, when instead she just wanted to enjoy her drink and meal in peace.

“You seem familiar. Where would I know you from?” It was scratching the back of her brain, but Imogen couldn’t put the full picture together. Otherwise, they had one of those faces, but that most definitely wasn’t it at all.

evanie was too kind for her own good . perhaps , to regular folk , such a comment would seem like a positive but , throughout the years , it had landed the woman into more trouble than it was worth . naivety wasn’t in short supply within the body of the redhead ; she could have easily been walking into a trap , a stint of unpaid and unappreciated work , and yet she had barely hesitated when the notification came through from imogen , knowing that a few hours with her friend would be worth any and all consequence . “ i’m not gonna back out !! “ the woman beamed as she approached the other , taking a confident step across the threshold ; no backing out now . “ i grew up on a ranch . how different can it be ?? they’re practically the same , just underwater … “ surely that was what a seahorse was , right ?? “ what sort of animals are here ?? “

“Great, otherwise I was gonna tell Billy the guard to lock the doors,” she smirked. Imogen was thankful for the help, even if it was for an hour, it would allow the process of getting a portion of her assigned feedings done. The senior aquarist was on paternity leave and her two other fellow aquarists had callen out sick, leaving just Imogen and Tyler to manage the animals for the day. Thankfully they had the help of the interns throughout the day to manage the daily aquarium visits, but it took away from their normative routine of research and checking that the tanks and zones were at status quo for the animals.

“Have you taken care of animals on the ranch? What type did you have?” Sure there were some similarities but if Evanie only ever milked a cow, she would definitely be in for a ride. “We have 50 different species of animals here. Pretty much every type of species is accounted for, from sharks and rays, to amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.” Imogen was proud of how well the aquariums had done since her and her father showed up almost ten years ago. “We’re gonna start with the otters Lola and Minko.”

“Thank you for taking the time to meet me up with me,” Imogen smiled towards the brunette. It was a mutual friend that had connected the two of them. Her coworker Alvin was a huge D&D fan and player. So much so, that Alvin had Esmeray customize a map for his own birthday. Despite her questions and probing, Imogen was not gleaming enough about the game and he put her in touch with Esmeray.

“What’s the key to winning in your opinion?” That’s what she wanted to know before anything else. The online forums and blogs had a pervasive amount of information and in due time the Simon would formulate her own opinion. However, for now, she hoped to gain insight from the woman seated across from her.

Since moving back to Roswell Es had started to build a nice little network of friends that were in the D&D space. When Alvin had reached out to her about sitting down for a chat with one of his coworkers, she’d happily agreed to it. Any chance to bring more people into the fold and show them what the game could do for them was something Es would never pass up. Looking up from the food she was starting to munch on, Es gave an eager nod. “Hey, of course. I owed Alvin a solid anyway,” she chuckled. She would have done it regardless, but helping a friend made it an easier sell.

The question brought a tilt of her head, lips pursing together in thought for a moment. “You know, I don’t think it’s really about winning, honestly. At least not in a long-term group. It’s kind of almost like you’re building a story together as a group and just seeing where it goes?” she mused with a bit of a shrug. “I’ve run sessions where it’s totally all about winning, though, just short one time things. It really all depends on what you’re interested in. Have you ever done any kind of tabletop gaming?” Es could easily talk for days and days about it, but she knew that too much too fast was the easiest way to scare people off of something.

“Hmm, okay,” she nodded, coupling some spinach leaves with strawberries from her dish. So, no need to be overly competitive, but strategic. Duly noted. Imogen was used to being a party of one and rather independent. Always the youngest in the room, she learned how to master things on her own most days and so working with others normally didn’t bode well for her. “Umm…I did one called Discover Lands Unknown a few months ago. It was an adventure game where you were trapped in the wilderness and had to work together to survive the harsh storm.” It was quite fun and she actually did enjoy herself. Except it wasn’t too extensive as the narrative was pretty much already created and they had to work based on that.

“So if we’re building stories, what is the objective then? Or is it just simply partaking in a storyline?” If it was the latter, it would take more effort on Imogen’s part to buy into this whole ordeal. Clearly though, it was quite a lot of fun considering the amount of people who played this game on a regular basis. “What’s your favorite part of the game?”

Lucy knew very little about any animals that weren’t dogs but he was willing to give it a go when Imogen asked for her help. “Hey, I’m in, I’m always in,” she beamed. It was true, Lucy had a tendency to put herself in ridiculous situations, but she never quit. “Let’s start with your favourite animal,” she countered, because honestly she had idea what the choices were.

“Oh I don’t have a favorite. That’s far too hard to pick,” she smiled at them before leading the way. Imogen had been around these sea creatures since she was potty-trained. Dolphins were wonderful because they were so intelligent, joyful, and playful creatures. In the same token, she loved sea turtles because they were such a vital role to the organismal hierarchy of the ocean. “We can start with the penguins. Today they’re getting anchovies and sardines.” It shouldn’t take that long as there are only ten of them in the aquarium currently. “Do you have any pets?”

“Oh.” He scratched at his jugular, thinking. “Well, I needed a heavy income. Entomology wouldn’t have provided me that, so I continued with psychiatry.” He shrugged, deciding to not be harsh but just sugarcoat it. He’s met many people who’ve had more of a forwardness– which definitely shocked him but he’s gotten used to it. It wasn’t something to scold about. “Most people need a psychiatrist in the Bronx too.”

Nabeel shifts a bit, grabbing a random book. A handbook encyclopedia of bugs. He has a copy at home. “I was looking for a new read, specifically well—beetles. I suppose I can’t be too picky now though, there’s so few beetle books that I haven’t read.”

“Psychiatry,” she nodded as she dwelled on what was said. Sounds more exhausting than getting the opportunity to hang out with bugs and crawlers of various types and regions. Albeit, a heavy income was subjective, she could understand how one’s interest was not considered livable. Imogen and her father lucked out that there was something exciting about the duo that led them to have a multimillion dollar career.

“New York? What brings you to New Mexico?” Were the people in the Bronx too challenging that they needed a change of scenery? It wouldn’t be surprising. “That’s understandable. Maybe you should choose a new creature to look at. Have you thought about bees?”

Imogen had stepped outside momentarily to receive a phone call from her father. He had texted her earlier in the day that he had big news to share with her. She didn’t even bother to think about what it could be, because with Isaac Simon, everything in life was exciting and noteworthy of sharing in his opinion. Whether it was how good a toasted blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese was for breakfast or that he found $10 in his coat pocket. The man was very jovial where she was very methodical and it made for a great balance in their relationship as father and daughter.

 Hanging up the phone after fifteen minutes, she had a small smile on her face, when she turned towards the individual a few feet from her. “Oh, it’s okay. I have ear plugs and just keep my hair down,” she smirked as she tucked her phone into her coat pocket. Her coworkers and their friends loved karaoke night. Albeit she would prefer a night in with a good movie, this was her attempt of being social and connecting with people. “It’s one of my coworkers and their friend. It’s why I made sure I took this phone call at this current moment in time, to spare my ears and chest vibrating for a few minutes.” It was rather comical to see them give it their all due to some alcohol courage, but they were far better at their day jobs. “What about you? Gonna belt out some Billy Joel?”

Leo can’t help but feel bad for the woman. With friends like those, she’s clearly got a little more– or maybe a lot more patience than he’s ever had. His brothers were sure to sing loud and obnoxiously, that is until their older brother tackles them onto the ground to stop the screeching. The youngest wasn’t so bad but only when he thought no one was looking. “Neat trick.” he comments. He’s worn ear plugs or ear muffs of sorts for most of his life, especially working on the construction site. They could definitely fix the problem. Leo hadn’t exactly planned for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum though. “Should’ve called the rest of the contact list, they went for an encore that no one asked for,” he comments, placing the cigarette behind his ear. Rubbing his tongue along his bottom lip, he shakes his head. “I think I’ll pass. I’m not much of a karaoke guy. I just happened to still be here when it started. Why? Are you trying to make sure I don’t steal your act?”

"Yeah, I learned that after the first time out when they were just singing nonstop ABBA." Imogen quickly removed the artist from her music playlist for approximately a month. It was over the top and if they ever were to audition for any of those singing competitions, they would all be rejected or receive a large red X. However, it was nice to be included in hangouts and thought if she did at least once every few months, it wasn't the worst thing in the world.

"Well I'm talking to you, so you're sparing my eardrums a few more minutes." In actuality, she did not like having a phone whatsoever. If she could have a flip phone she would. The only relevancy to the device was her dad's constant voice memos, being able to connect with people on social media, and posting her content here and there. "Hah, no not in the slightest. I'm more of a shower singer and love a good carpool karaoke." Having cameras and lights in her face since she was eight made her want to limit her exposure being front and center as much as possible. "I think that's better for all parties involved, you know?"

Imogen had always been a person that in order to read she needed to have the book in hand. There was nothing better than marking pages with a pencil, placing a bookmark in between the seams, or even getting to spend over an hour every time she went to the bookstore. With a coffee in hand, she was mindlessly strolling through the aisles waiting for anything to spark an idea. Of course she had a book in hand about marine biology but she also was hoping to find something else to read as well. It was nice to change up her literature even if it was some romantic fiction of two people falling in love. As she rounded the corner, she stopped observing the figure as she overheard them. “Are you an entomologist?” 

Imogen had the opportunity to meet some incredible entomologists over the course of her young life. Her father thought it was important for her to have an all encompassing knowledge and learn about the ways the various creatures help sustain the environment in massive ways. It was easy to overlook the importance of bees, ladybugs, and ground beetles. Although it wasn’t her interest, she knew that they equally played a role just as much as her beloved sea creatures. “Are beetles your favorite bug?”

His eyes widened for a moment, nearly becoming as big as a tarsier. “Oh, me?” It felt like a slow minute for Nabeel before he rubbed at his eye, clearing his throat with the action. “No no, just a hobby of mine… Well technically, I did study it in college… Never pursued it as a career though.”

The remembrance of his roots with entomology made him slightly uncomfortable. His body swaying with distant thoughts before he had stood up, a book following in his hold. He nearly forgot what made him start enjoying the little creatures of Earth, nearly forgot what began it all. “Ah, you heard me… —but yes, beetles are my favorite bug.” He smiles, a fond essence washing over him. “I even got a tattoo of a Green June Beetle in college… and a, ‘nother one after graduation.” Nabeel mumbled, lightly scratching at his neck to show off the smaller tattoo on the side of his neck.

"Oh. How come?" Imogen was never one to hold back her thoughts. Her dad told her she was needed to watch her tongue the first time she told a producer his question was dumb. Imogen was eight and they had asked her how deep and wide the ocean was. She simply stared at them for a moment, leaned into her father, and whispered that his question was stupid. Not realizing that she was mic'd up and that the whole team could here. However, her question was in genuine sincerity. Was it not as interesting as he thought? Did something else spark their interest?

"That's cool." Tattoos weren't her thing, but she thought people were able to express themselves how they seemed fit was great. Whenever she did come across somebody covered in tattoos, she was always curious to know the when, where, and why. "I know a few entomologist, but only one of them have a profound love for beetles." Instead of having chickens or gnomes propped all over their home. It was beetles galore. "What you looking for?"

Imogen was besides herself in this moment. Although an accident, she felt awful for not paying attention. She was dog sitting for one of the interns who was out of town for the weekend. Her dad had sent her this new chocolate chip cookie recipe. Imogen had left out the bag of chocolate chips when she ran out to do an errand only to find half the bag consumed and an incredibly lethargic dog. Quickly, she brought him to the vet's office doing her best to keep her composure. Her friend told her not to fret, but Imogen always had this strong connection to animals. Feeling like she caused harm to them was a tough pill to swallow. As the vet returned into the room where she waiting, she averted their gaze entirely. "Are they gonna be okay?"

"Rini! It's such a beautiful day to find a great costume!" she beamed at the other as she walked towards the storefront. They were both at the café when some dude came in with speakers dancing and throwing flyers on to each booth and every civilian he passed by in the establishment. It took Imogen to figure out what was going on, but it was costume party at the town's grand ballroom. This dude was turning 30 and wanted the whole town to show up. Imogen thought it was odd, but one of her New Year's resolution was to be more bold and step out of her comfort zone. Rini had been her waitress that day and the Simon asked them to join her on this adventure. "Any ideas on what you want to dress up as?"

Anytime that Imogen became a regular of a dining establishment, it was her goal to try everything once on the menu. Even if it was by chance the weakest item on the menu, her intention was to give everything the benefit of the doubt. There was a reason it was placed on the menu after all. The lucky thing with the café was that it didn’t get any simpler than burger, fries, and milkshakes. Pretty much the same three items, but variation in multiple ways. Today, she was having chili cheese fries, a turkey bacon cheese burger, and a salted caramel milkshake. Situated at the counter with her new comic book in tow, she looked up at the sound of a familiar person. “Hi Riley! How’s it going?” she waved, perking up at the sight of the other.

"I will always support local, but I am furious I just spent ten dollars for this smoothie," Jade began with a small huff before heartily drinking from her cup of pineapple-mango smoothie meant to help the recovery process in her body after a long work-out. There was a good, long pause - in reality it was more like fifteen seconds but for her it was an eternity. Whether she knew her conversation partner or not was irrelevant - she had a habit of spouting off at strangers to skip the awkward greeting phase. "Most of the time when these shops spout out their health bullshit it's only, like... half-true, but they want to charge ridiculous prices for something that is... average at best." Another small huff before another long sip, allowing herself to enjoy the taste. "This is the freshest Goddamn pineapple and mango I have ever tasted in my twenty seven years on this stupid fucking planet. So now I must support them forever at the expense of my wallet."

“I mean you could have probably just made it at home. It would have cost you the same amount, but the bonus is that you’d have extra servings for another day,” Gen points out before she takes a bite from her pitaya smoothie bowl. Situated at a table in the town’s food court, she was reading a newsletter on her iPad when she heard how irate the raven-haired woman was about the cost of goods she just purchased. Granted, Imogen had always been well off, the price of consuming anything never truly jarred her. She was a multimillionaire by the time she was eighteen.

That was all associated with the show, merchandising, and all the sponsorships that came with the name ‘Isaac and Imogen Simon.’ Therefore she never had to think twice about how much things cost her which she knew was a blessing. In the same token, Imogen was one who lived an average life, never one being hypnotized by excessive wealth and riches. In all her years the most expensive entree she ever had was probably $85 and she wasn’t even the one covering the tab. “I heard everything is farm to table, so you’re getting the purest and ripest fruits. Pesticides free. That’s why it cost $10.”

location: Out Of This World Bookstore

It’s been six days since Nabeel had settled in Roswell and needless to say, he was starting to grow comfortable with the place. While he isn’t well acquainted with his neighbors at the trailer park, he can find himself now growing comfortable to at least acknowledge them or let the kids pet his cats; Garbanzo and Shoe. Which the cats are happy about as they love the attention. Seeing the way they chased - yes chased - the kids around brought happiness to his chilled heart.

With that new safety, he started to leave the trailer park to explore the town properly. It had a lot of places of entertainment but it was the bookstore that stole all of his attention. It was the second time here, his first being yesterday where he had rung out some books. Said books were returned today before he disappeared into the bookshelves, beelining to the general vicinity of wildlife.

His body falling short as he kneels to the lower levels of the shelves, being careful to not knock over the person behind him or get in their way. “Beetles, beetles, give me beetles.” Nabeel smiles, dragging out his words like it was some silly song.
