Imogen Bello was born and raised in Logan, Utah to a single father. Her mother had died while giving birth to Imogen and her father never remarried. They lived a pretty great life considering all of the hardship that they dealt with and Imogen appreciated all the sacrifices that she knew her father made for her all of those years.

She finished high school a year early and went to a local college for business administration. Four years later, she was getting her bachelors degree and finding her footing on where she wanted to go next. Her best friend convinced her to move to New York city with her and Imogen did just that.

They lived in a small apartment for the next seven years, she worked in various corporate offices where she would help their marketing and job staffing. She was the best of the best when it came to making sure the companies that she worked for had the best staff possible. During this time, she met a guy by the name of Adam and he was everything she thought she wanted.

They dated for a few years, but he was a serial cheater and Imogen had enough. She broke it off with him and they went their separate ways which was the best for the both of them. Once she broke it off, she didn't hear from him and thought that he was gone for good.

It was about a year later when she met Oliver - an up and coming tattoo shop owner and she fell for him quick and hard. It was the first time that she had ever felt love in the way that you see in movies. Everything felt perfect but when things go right, soon they go wrong.

Her ex started blackmailing her. He had some incriminating photos of her that she wouldn't want to see the light of day. He wanted money - and lots of it. She didn't have much to her name. Enough to get her by but not enough to keep him silent.

It was while she was figuring out how to get enough money to pay him, the woman found out that she was pregnant. She was scared of what her ex would do to not only her but to Oliver. It wasn't the smartest decision, but she took the money that Oliver had for his loan shark and ran.

She didn't go back home to Utah, no. She went to London and started her life over there. Months later, she gave birth to her daughter and things started to get better. She was determined to save the money she took and even though it took her longer than expected, once she had it she had to find Oliver.

It took months before she found that he had moved to Blue Harbor, Illinois and Imogen followed suit. She has been in town for a month working as a florist and trying to find the right time - or the right way - to approach Oliver about everything.

Leilani hadn't met a single rude person since getting here which wasn't saying much because she didn't leave her home really since she got here but anyone she did meet was nice enough to her. It seemed like it was going to be a nice place for her to stay for a short while. After hearing the suggestion that the other woman offered, she shrugged, "You know what? You're right! I might just get a scoop of black raspberry and a scoop of rocky road! I think that sounds really good actually." She smiled softly and then looked at the little girl that the women was holding onto her hip and she smiled. "And what's your name little love bug?"

Imogen smiled, nodding her head. “Great choice. Two very good flavors that I know you won’t regret choosing.” As they moved through the line, she ordered her and her daughter’s ice cream. “Add hers to my order, she said to the cashier before paying. Her daughter smiling ear to ear at the woman next to her. “Kat,” her daughter said softly, waving at her. “Her full name is Katerina but I usually call her Kat or kitty kat. I’m Imogen. Would you like to join us?”

“Imogen! I’m so glad you could stop by,” she greeted warmly. She glanced down at Imogen’s daughter and wiggled her fingers in a greeting. “And hello to you too!” Imogen and her daughter were so sweet and Maya was always happy to see them stop by the café.

“Funny story,” she began, offering Imogen a lavender lemon scone. “the idea came to me when I was working on a new tea blend. I had been experimenting with different herbal combinations, and one night, I brewed a pot of lavender tea and added a splash of fresh lemon juice. It smelled incredible, and the taste was even better. I knew I just had to try it in pastry form. What do you think?”

Maya turned back to the table, grabbing a pitcher that sat there and a small cup. “Here, try this. It’s lavender lemonade – pairs perfectly with the scone and really enhances both the floral and citrus notes.”

"You know I can barely go a day without visiting you," she replied back with a smile. Her daughter gave her a small wave as she grabbed onto her leg. She rubbed her daughter's back as she walked closer to where Maya was standing.

Taking the scone, she tore off a small piece and gave it to her daughter to try. As soon as she tasted the flavors combined together, she couldn't help the moan that left her mouth followed by the immediate laugh that left her lips. "My god, Maya. I have never tasted something so delicious. I swear you outshine yourself every time." Imogen was good at a lot of things but coming up with these different items would not be something she could do. She barely cooked but she loved to be able to come to Maya and try whatever she had available.

Taking the drink, she sipped on it before letting her daughter have a drink. "You are something else. I don't think there is anything you've made that I don't think I've liked." Giving another smile, she set the empty cup down. "How have you been?"

“ a murder. ” she parroted, brows furrowing in thought. “ huh — you know, i’m not really surprised. just feels right, y’know ? makes sense. ” crows being a symbol of death, death and murder went hand-in-hand. it was kind of clever, in a way. “ if i’m gonna be honest, i do too. the majority of the time i end up pissed off. i don’t know how people find these therapeutic. ” placing the unfinished puzzle beside her, she directed her attention on her newfound company. “ i feel like whoever makes them is some pompous, ” asshole. she wanted to say, but she was quick to catch herself before she did. even though she was notorious for having the mouth of a sailor, she’d never let it slip in front of a child. at least, she tried not to let it. there were times here and there, during games especially, where the occasional hell would echo, but that was that. alright, maybe a shit too. “ person with a superiority complex that takes pleasure in watching people fail. same with that new york times connections game. you ever play it ? ” the babbling of the little girl beside her eventually caught jude's attention and she couldn’t help but smile. “ she’s cute. what’s her name ? ”

Imogen nodded her head because in essence it did make sense that it was called a murder. Her father had always been superstitious about seeing a bunch of crows around and what it could mean but she had never been one to worry much about those kinds of things. "I don't know how they do it either, honestly. I mean I get word searches because those are not as bad but like sudoku and crosswords are like the devil to me." Imogen laughed as she knew exactly what the other woman was wanting to say but she didn't. She leaned forward and whispered, "They're assholes." She shook her head, " Nope and that's coming from someone that just spent the last ten years in New York. I never thought or heard about it. What exactly is it and what kind of torture does it inflict on people?" She smiled, looking to her daughter who began playing with a flower that was budding in the grass. "Thank you. Her name's Katerina but we mostly call her Kat."

She would usually take her along with but there were too many things that she needed to get done in just a short amount of time. Her first task was to go to the doctor to get her established and then she found herself going through the aisles of dreamland market. She had her basket in hand when she noticed a familiar face down at the opposite end of the aisle. "Foster, hey. How are you?"

The shop didn't really need that much help. They did enough business but Thalia needed something to keep her busy. And having someone else around was a good exercise in becoming more social. Even if it felt like pulling teeth. Fortunately, Imogen seemed undaunted by her cold nature. "Wild lupines. They are fantastic pollinator plants." Thalia continued to walk around with the mister, making sure that all plants were properly hydrated. "It is a significantly toxic plant, however at one point, it was used to make tea. I find them quite fascinating." Her finger gently traced the edge of her monstera plant. "Your favorite?"

Imogen listened to Thalia and nodded her head as she spoke. "Toxic in like could kill you or just like harmful enough to make you sick?" She loved learning about plants more than she ever thought that she would and to hear Thalia speak about her favorite put a smile on her face. "Do we sell those here?" When asked about her favorite, she shrugged her shoulders. "I mean I want to say sunflowers because when there is no sun they turn to each other for like energy and stuff which is pretty cool. But I also find Wolfsbane to be pretty interesting as well. And it's super pretty when you look at it. But you can also never go wrong with like daisies or roses either. I'm a sucker for a good flower arrangement, you know?"

It was quiet at the pub, that's why Jack liked it. Unfortunately, 'quiet' didn't necessarily translate to 'peaceful'. He'd shown up tonight with the simple aim of getting out of the house, planning to tuck himself away in a corner and nurse a couple of drinks somewhere that wasn't his couch, effectively escaping the feeling of the walls closing in on him at home. It'd been a long week and he didn't particularly feeling like dealing with other people—not that he usually felt like it anyway—but in typical fashion that lack of desire seemed to tempt fate. As he leaned against the bar ready to order another drink he felt somebody jostle him from behind.

"Hey, you mind?" he huffed, turning to look at them. "Personal space here."

Imogen hadn't been to a bar in over two years since she found out that she was pregnant. Not that she went a lot before she found out but she was one to love a good karaoke night out with her best friend. Her babysitter had offered to let her go out knowing that she had been rather stressed ever since the two had met. She had just arrived to the bar - which was rather crowded - and she was moving through the crowd when she got pushed into someone sitting at the bar.

"Sorry. I didn't do it intentionally. Who knew that this was going to be this crowded," she started, taking the seat next to him. "Can I get you a drink as an apology?"

Maya stood outside Latte Love on a sunny Saturday morning, a gentle breeze carrying the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries. A small, elegantly decorated table was set up beside her, laden with trays of her latest creation: lavender lemon scones. Each scone was perfectly golden, with a delicate glaze that caught the sunlight and made them look almost too beautiful to eat. Dressed in a stylish yet practical apron, Maya greeted those passing by with a warm smile as they went about their days. "Good morning! Would you like to try a sample of our new lavender lemon scones?" she called out, her voice filled with a blend of excitement and nervous energy.

There was something about the weather and atmosphere of this town that made it feel like London. It was something that she knew she was going to miss when she moved to Illinois but the reason for moving outweighed her sadness for leaving. Katerina had woke her up before the sun rose and she was running on coffee fumes and a half eaten bagel. Staying inside her home wasn’t an option, she needed to get out. So she grabbed a bag and the two girls headed into town. They had stopped by the flower shop to say hello to Thalia and then headed to look at the different boutiques in town. It wasn’t until she caught a whiff of lemon and coffee that she realized she was near Latte Love. Maya was outside and she could hear her offering free samples. Imogen headed to the table with a smile on her face. “I swear you outdo yourself every time,” she said with a chuckle. “What made you think of putting lavender and lemon together?”

Having only been in Blue Harbor for five days, Leilani was really avoiding what she knew she wouldn't be able to avoid forever. She wanted to tell Dante about the baby that she would be having in the matter of months now. She was about five to six months along and she knew this was going to be crazy to him but she knew it was something that she was going to have to do. Instead of doing what she knew she needed to, she stopped and was going to distract herself with some ice cream from Chilled Creamery. She had walked past it and she knew she needed something, but wasn't so sure yet. She was in line and looking at the flavors.

Being here for only a short time she didn't really have any friends so she turned to the closest stranger and she asked. "Alright so I know I want something fruity and i'm not sure if I want the strawberry cheesecake flavor, key lime, or black raspberry. But oh! I feel like I could also go for something chocolately like rocky road! Ya know? Any suggestions for someone who's never been here before?"

It was later in the afternoon when Imogen got off work and picked up her daughter from the babysitters. Instead of going directly home, she decided to treat not only herself but her daughter for some ice cream. It hadn’t been the easiest day for Imogen - the thoughts overtaking her in her work and when she got off. She just wanted to forget about everything and focus on her and Katerina. And what better way to drown your sorrows than with ice cream? As they headed inside, she knew that there would be a line - it was one of the best places around.

As she held her daughter on her hip, they both looked at the ice creams. Imogen trying to figure out which one to get for the both of them to share. Their usual was strawberry but she didn’t know if she was in the mood for that or something else. When she heard a voice next to her, she glanced over with a smile. “I have been debating the same thing,” she said with a laugh. “You know what I say? Get a scoop of both. I think I’m going to go with strawberry and mint chocolate chip. Both of which are so very good. If you’re feeling adventurous the black raspberry is one of the best that I’ve had and usually I’m not a fan of raspberry but you won’t regret it. I mean all of their flavors are delicious.” She moved down the line before she placed her order. “So, where did you move from? I’m a newbie here as well. Been in town a month.”

Imogen was new to the flower world but she loved them so working as a florist seemed like a fitting job. She was thankful to Thalia for giving her this opportunity to learn and grow, which she has done since she had arrived in Blue Harbor. It wasn’t easy starting over and while she knew the future was up in the air, she was excited about where it was going. She had just finished up with a customer when she turned to glance back at Thalia. “Who knew flowers could mean so many things. I never thought of it before but like flowers could be used for any and all occasions. It’s just wild to me,” she said with a small laugh. “Do you have a favorite flower? I don’t think I’ve asked you that yet.”

Oliver sits at his station, working on the last customer of the night. Once he finishes up, he takes their payment and works to clean up everything before heading to the front. He wonders if he should go grab a nightcap at the bar down the street, it beats going home by himself for the night. He grabs his backpack off the floor and puts the strap over his shoulder, moving to turn off the light and head out of the area his station was.

"We're clos..." He starts until his eyes lift up to actually take in who is standing in the lobby in front of him. He straightens his posture as he reaches one hand out to place it on the surface of the counter. He glances between her and the bag in her hand, the expression on his feature gives nothing away. He's had two painful years to think about everything she had done to him and he didn't understand what had happened.

One second they were good and the next she was gone with everything he worked hard to earn.

"Imogen."

He nods slightly. "What are you doing here?"

Imogen could see the wheels spinning in his head about why she was here. She wondered what he was thinking and would give anything to be in his mind. Was he angry? Yes. Was he going to shut her out of his life? Possibly. Would he forgive her? She wasn’t sure. She honestly didn’t expect him to forgive her. If the roles were reversed, she didn’t know if she could. The hurt that she caused him not only in taking his money but also leaving him was something that she didn’t think he could get over and she would have to deal with the consequences of her actions.

It wasn’t until her name fell from his lips that she realized just how much she missed him. The love that they had was everything and she screwed it all up. She knew she would never find a love like what they had in her lifetime and it wasn’t until now that she realized just how bad that felt. A few moments passed as she tried to gather her thoughts. “I, uh” she started, but nothing she thought of felt right.

“There is so much that I want and need to say and I don’t even know where to begin.” She paused, moving closer to the counter where she laid the bag. “First, I want to say that I am so sorry for the way that I handled things. I should have talked to you but I was scared and I ran.” Her lips pressed together as she looked down at the ground before looking back up at Oliver. Gesturing toward the bag, she moved it toward him. “I know this doesn't make up for what you probably went through when I left but this is everything I took and more. I know you worked hard for this and I’m sorry that I ran with it. You didn’t deserve that.”

It had been one month since she had been in Blue Harbor after finding out that Oliver was there. It had been one month that she avoided him. One month that she had watched him from afar - too scared to approach. He hated her that much was guaranteed and she couldn’t blame him. Hell, she hated herself for hurting him like she had. In her mind, she thought she was protecting himself in one way or another but she should have found another way. She knew that and every day for the past almost three years since she had left him, she had regretted that decision. It wasn’t an easy thing to do and she hoped that maybe he would be able to forgive her - eventually.

For now, she needed to get this over with. She needed to let him know about their daughter and give him back the money that she had taken. Finding out where he worked, she waited for the last person to leave before she entered the parlor with the black bag in hand. He wasn’t in the front so she waited - and paced back and forth going over what she was going to say in her head but nothing came slightly close when he did reappear in front of her. Years of not seeing his face caused tears to well in her eyes but she blinked them away as she looked down at the bag in her hands.

people who claimed to finish crossword puzzles in ten minutes or less were full of shit. jude would end up staring at a set of empty boxes for ten minutes alone before her pen would even ink the first letter. either those people were cheating or they’d managed to memorize the entirety of the thesaurus — the dictionary too. she wasn’t sure why she did them, to waste time mostly, but more often than not the margins would be decorated with flowers, smiley faces, and the occasional ‘superman s’ instead of an actual answer. this time around, she’d gotten relatively far along. just a few words left. prying her lips from the straw she'd been absentmindedly gnawing at ( how ladylike ), she sat back and straightened out. god forbid she hunch, could even hear her mother's grating voice barking at her in her head 'shoulders back, chin up, tits out' ... granted she only ever abided by the two formers, never the latter. each heavy blink rid her vision of the checkered boxes, but she couldn't accept defeat just yet. wouldn't dare. “ hey, ” she eventually chirped, an attempt to address whoever happened to be within earshot. “ you wouldn't happen to know a word for ‘a gathering of crows’ would you ? ” pen tapped along the corresponding spaces, “ six letters. ”

Imogen found herself and her daughter at one of the small parks, sitting on a blanket and having a picnic. Not that her daughter was actually eating anything but just picking at the food and playing with the few toys that they had brought. They had just gotten through with playing on the playground and your girl was tired - more so with knowing she had been in town for a month and couldn’t find the courage to face her past. She had been in her own head when she heard babbling and then another voice close by. Her head snapped up at the question as she thought for a minute before smiling. “They’re called a murder.” She only knew this from a book that she had read before. “I don’t know exactly why they’re called a murder but they are,” she said as she looked at the paper in the other persons hands. “I hate crosswords. I feel extremely dumb when I can’t complete them, you know?”

Imogen had been running some errands before she had to pick her daughter up from the babysitters. She decided to stop in to get a coffee - lord knows she needed the pick-me-up.
