of course, she felt weird talking about this when she literally looked like she had just gone out of preschool but what could you do. “yeah, i guess, yeah,” her cool was lost that’s for sure. so she laughed. “oh my god, this place is freaky.”

Pearl continued to frown, pushing against a nearby wall in order to stand herself up so she could be at the same height as the girl in front of her. Brushing off the dirt from the the ground  she commented ‘it’s not that you can’t watch, you just can’t lurk. “ She paused, leaning down to stretch her legs for a moment. “I don’t know how many people you lurk around, but at least for me, i don’t like it when I suddenly see people watching me.”

sam was honestly not even going to try to help the girl. it look as if she came close the other blonde, she would bite her head off, so she preferred to keep a small distance between the two. “i didn’t want you to lose focus, i mean it could happen, or that i scared you if i talked, either way bad income,” she responded with a raised of eyebrows. “first i’ve ever done it,” that’s a big fat lie, sam, her mind reminded her. “again sorry, didn’t mean to.”

Pearl had been on edge ever since she arrived at Halestone. Despite reviewing all of her options countless times she still barely accepted that there was no way to leave, and even with that acceptance there were numerous worries that plagued her. Were the other gems worried about her? Was Steven safe? How was his training progressing? Had Beach City somehow been completely destroyed? Was Amethyst keeping the house clean? In a need to relax she wandered off to an empty room she had found while mapping out the school. It wasn’t ideal, but it would give her a chance to practice her dance for a little while and relax. Despite there being no music she took a deep breath and quickly broke into a leap. She landed harshly on her toes, moving into a pirouette before she could even think about how bruised her feet would be. Pearl moved methodically. Turn here. Dip three seconds later. Swing down. Bring her leg up. Drop it down back into the pirouette. Repeat. It was only on her fourth dip down that Pearl noticed someone watching her from the entrance. Startled, she jerked, her legs giving out below her before she ungracefully toppled to the ground. Annoyed, Pearl didn’t even bother to pull herself off the floor, simply turning to look at the other person from the ground with a scowl. “Do you need something.”

sam has mostly gotten over everything, not really overthinking things, it always seem to be the better option whenever she tried to do anything. she would over think and something would happen and she would rather not think at all at, it was better than anything and made things run more smoothly around her. of course, she had to wander a bit, look at things, memorize where she had been to and where she was in the school, made things a lot whole easier like that, but she got mesmerized with the girl dancing, not realizing she might scare her by just standing there. “just watching, i’ll leave.”

   He looked over at her, a faint smile on his lips now. “No pain at all?” The soft coos coming from the baby seemed to bring Kaneki to some ease, it was a sticky kind of joy. “If anything feels off… tell me, alright?” For a moment, his smile diminishes. He looked down at their baby. Something about him brought a blissful type of happiness to Kaneki, making his worries go away. For now, he decides to brush off his suffocating anxiety over her well-being and safety. “And you should be home, Miss Sam.” There’s a certain warmth in his tone. The corners of his lips widen into a smile once more, his grey orbs looking over at the blonde, the one he had grown to love more and more each day. “Let’s go home.”

at his other question, she nodded once again, a small teasing smile on her lips. “nothing at all, i’m fine," the baby was something she didn’t have a certain for. it was something that made her forget about the horrors of her past. where she had ran for her life, when she found out it had been josh, she had to stop thinking. “don’t worry so much about me, please,” she rolled her eyes, or course they were fondness in her action. “aw, do i really need to go, mister?” she joked, this time smiling fully. “okay, fine, fine, but here give me hide,” she said extending her arms to him, looking at him expectantly.

   “It can certainly have a lot of meanings,” he chuckled. The baby seemed to have grown a tad from the first day Kaneki saw him to now, certainly a lot more than a regular baby. Had she been feeding him too much perhaps? Or was it genetics? Maybe he just hadn’t payed much attention to human babies, maybe Hide really was a normal baby; though he had doubts about this. The One-Eyed Owl was born like this, a thing they liked to call a rare occasion–that being when a human woman bore the child of a ghoul she would rarely survive. But Kaneki was an artificial ghoul, a half ghoul. A sigh. Kaneki cradled the baby’s head, a warm smile worn on his lips. “Are you–feeling alright, Sam?”

“maybe even a deeper meaning than we think,” she laughed slightly. just a couple of days after giving birth, sam didn’t feel as bad as they told her she would feel. and she did notice that her little boy was growing differently from other babies but she pegged it off to other things, not reminded that he could be part ghoul. of course, she knew about kaneki being half ghoul, knew the risks but did she care? not really. and she hadn’t really sitting down to think what could have been going on, she had been far too busy getting used to having a kid. the blonde had been playing with the boy’s hand, making baby noises. “yeah, i’m fine, totally.”

   “Hide…”He never knew why that name had stuck with him so much. It felt–right to name his son that. Hide. Little Hide, his little sun flower standing tall on the grass. Kaneki moved through the forest carefully, the dry leaves crunching under his shoes; his arms would sway the small newborn from side to side gently. From now until the child would open his eyes, he could only wonder if Hide inherited Kaneki’s soft grey eyes–or perhaps his ghoul eye as well. The baby’s hair was the darkest brown he had ever set his gaze on, almost black, it was one similar to his own. Such innocence…

sam was more than a sentimental, especially if it came to children, even if it wasn’t her own. but being it her own, it was far more special. she never thought she, samantha, would ever have a baby, hell she always thought she was going to be the single aunt from the group. but now she had one, a baby she could call her own. and his father had just put him a name. hide. she liked it. “sounds like someone is saying ‘hide they’re coming’” the petite blonde joked.

How had they even gotten here? And if Sam was here.. did that mean the others were here too?·“ WHAT is this place? ”

the blonde suppressed a smile, this was no time to smile or anything like that. but it meant not being alone again. come to think of it, she hadn’t seen josh or jess or ash again but some part of her told her, they were around. they had to be, or sam would spiral out again. she didn’t spectate the hug from his part but didn’t stop him. why would she? who was she kidding? she need the human contact. so the girl returned the tight embrace as much as she could, her memories coming flooding back into her brain.

the question threw her off, so she nodded.·“i’m okay,” and she turned to look at him.·“are you okay?” she asked softly, the worry she was so used to feeling stepping into her voice. but right now, she was mostly glad.·“it’s a school, in scotland. i don’t know how we got here or who got us here, they give very little information, actually,” she made a face, almost a desperate one but she tried to mask it.·
