In my head, the winged serpents have probably never fought a day in their lives, but for Messmer's sake they ARE technically long enough to coil around someone's throat to choke them.

That third clip with the snake in the bush is exactly how the winged serpents act when alert.

Self care days for Messmer mostly includes taking care of Phobos and Deimos whenever they shed. Taking long hot soaks and using warm cloths to help peel back stubborn old scales.

In doing so this not only makes them feel better but him as well.

Godwyn and Messmer hanging out at the shamans village together, blubbing it out because HOLY SHIT this place is so sad.

Just had to let that thought go.

It DOES look like the perfect spot to be depressed and cry until you fall asleep (which I'm sure Messmer has done a lot by himself).

He'd allow very few people to come there without supervision but Godwyn would be an exception. That music and the white doves... UGHHHHHHH

The winged serpents weren't immediately born with Messmer as an infant, but later would burst from the flesh of his chest and back like a snake's egg in response to the abyssal serpents presence.

When the big light came on. The two little culprits were found. These little omens were caught mid act in giving another boop. They looked up at him with surprise.

"Oh no oh no"

"Away! away!"

Both little omens yelled. Now, running away as fast as their little feet could

The revelation stunned Messmer long enough to lose track of the booping duo. Many questions arose in his mind but not wanting to let them get far, Messmer begins his pursuit and allows his serpentine companions to lead the hunt as they could investigate places Messmer could not so easily reach.

Following clues left behind by the little omens, Messmer would periodically stop to allow either Phobos or Deimos to wriggle about tight spaces. It is Deimos that discovers one of them first, flicking its tongue out before taking this opportunity to avenge previous boops with one of its own as it lightly bumps against the little omen with its snout.

"Found thee little wretch."

The winged serpents were at first baffled by having their snouts booped without the culprits getting caught and punished for it. With his influence over flame, Messmer lights up the dark chamber in search of those giggling young voices. The serpents for their part, flicked their tongues relentlessly to trace a scent back to its source.

"Enough of thy games! I shalt not allow a soul to bother mine serpents in such a manner!"

"I shant let thee sit here and stew on thy anger and sadness, brother. Nothing good can come out of leaving thee alone like this." Godwyn pulled up a chair to sit next to his brother. He clasped his hands together, watching his brother.

"Tell me brother, dost thou feel well enough to rejoin the festivities thyself? I wouldst refrain from drinking if thou go back, but we can still celebrate together if thou wish."

Messmer thinks for a moment, reaching with a long finger to scratch under the chin of the serpent that chose to expose itself. Much as he wanted to brood by himself, he knew Godwyn would not be so easily swayed to leave him be and figured he should give in at least just this once.

"Not really... But if thou insist upon it, we could celebrate on our own terms."

There was a slight mischievous gleam in Messmer's eye, a rare sight indeed but perhaps the plan brewing in his head was assisted by his earlier drinking and a desire to have an experience unfettered by the derision he knew some nobility harbored for him.

"Perhaps with a couple mimic veils, we can have fun without the burden of our status drawing unwanted attention."
