#MondayMantra part 2 by the amazing human Emer 💕🤗💫this so much this #Repost @msemerosullivan ・・・ #MondayMantra: Let's be FOR each other.✨💖 • This quote from @ruthielindsey came at @wework's #CreatorAwards last week, in her masterclass with @sophiabush, discussing human connection beyond the confines of social media, vulnerability, and dealing with fear. • If you don't know Ruthie, or haven't yet heard her story, I would encourage you to check this inspiring woman out. Be sure to also check out the powerful masterclass these two women gave. Sit back and soak up their honest heartfelt wisdom and lessons. • Society, for generations, has pushed the narrative that women have a particular place. Drive, passion, ambition, outspokenness, activism, anything that for men is considered a positive character trait, is frowned upon in women. Instead we are greeted with remarks of being too shrill, loud, cold, arrogant. • So many people, women in particular, struggle with self doubt. Our feelings of 'not good enough' are only compounded by a society that chooses to ridicule women for the wonderful things it should be celebrating them for. This all makes the need for women to encourage and support other women even more imperative. As Sophia said, the idea that there is a finite bucket of success for the world to draw from is a myth. There is enough space for all of us. In choosing collaboration over competition, support over ridicule, we remind each other that we are not alone. There are enough external forces telling us the things we supposedly cannot and should not do, without us reinforcing those falsehoods to ourselves and each other. • We have options. We are enough. We can and will succeed. Let's move forward with the power of knowing we are not alone. • • • Artwork by me.
