So few weeks have passed without any posts! many apologies! but at least this time I had more of a reason other than just being lazy! So with my time as a courier running out (company downsizing/stopping the cbd part of the business) i was told that I had 2 weeks of work left. Despite half expecting this all year it still came as a shock.
This put me at an all time low, mentally. However after running into an old friend at a cx race a few weeks ago i got back in contact with a company I applied for a job with a year ago. and within the space of 2 days I had a new job, A proper adult job too, on a salary and sick/holiday pay and all that jazz.
Words cannot describe how much of an uplifting and liberating experience this has been for me. Despite the usual nervousness etc of starting a new unfamiliar job I felt like I could finally move on from the last 4/5 years of my life having rid myself of much of what defined those years.
Now anyone who knows a bit about bikes will appreciate how amazing it is to now work for the australian importer/distro of brands such as BMC, ZIPP, 3T, CHALLENGE, ASSOS and SRAM. and as such i kind of splurged and treated myself. a new road bike, 2 pairs of zipp wheels and upgraded to the new sram cx1 groupset on the crux.
Its been an emotional last month, but I finally feel I can move onwards and upwards with my life and for the first time in a long time I feel pretty good about things.
