“it’s a neat idea.” the male spoke as he gestured towards the event happening around them. “but it does not compare to auradon. we just always do it bigger and better.”
she didn’t admit it often, but a majority of addison’s childhood had revolved around attending and assisting bizzy’s fundraisers and making sure they’d, as montgomery’s, upheld their pristine image. the carnival reminded her of a gala they’d once hosted for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the spring. only at that fundraiser, archer had nearly burned down one of the game kiosks, and she hadn’t smelled any smoke just yet. addison held a stuffed elephant she’d won earlier in her hands, observing the carnival with an objective view, “ really ? what would your carnival have ? unicorns rides ? gold dusted popcorn ? a parade with cindy lauper and tears for fears ? ”
𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 , due to many reasons , though it was clear he’s bothered by something in particular . maybe it was the dramatic change in atmosphere or the dreams he’s been having late at night , but one thing is sure : it was hard for him to stay focused . downing yet another bottle , the god lets out a deep sigh . he’s been keeping busy these past few days building a water fountain similar to the one he had in asgard , taking much needed breaks from time to time . the only thing keeping him sane was the alcohol pooling in his head . ❛❛ not as strong as the ale in asgard , but it will suffice , ❜❜ thor chuckles to himself , noticing the figure linger nearby . ❛❛ would you like a drink ? take as much as you please , there’s plenty more where that came from . ❜❜ truth be told , he desperately needed the company . it was hard dealing with this on his own .
piper enjoyed working at the villa donna. the excitement and freedom it had given her allowed the witch valued time to deal with being here. ( however that could’ve came into perdition, she hadn’t the slightest clue ) a vast part of her missed P3, sure it’d been busy and hectic and more work than she’d been ready for –––– but it was hers . and now she had nothing. P3, leo, her sisters . . . they were all gone. when she ducked into the bar, painful echoes threatened to break the surface. her memories felt like a past life yet her heart didn’t recognize how much time had passed, contracting grievously in her chest. pushing out a quick breath, piper leveled herself, pushing her shoulders down and sitting beside the stranger, her bag fell off her shoulder and hung on her chair. “ okay, kind stranger, i’ll bite. ” she flashed a smile, although it was only half as genuine. she wasn’t sure what kind of indie beer company he’d been talking about, but she knew what it was like to be depraved of familiarities. her fingers touched the frosted glass, taking the glass from the counter and raising it , “ how about a toast ! to . . . asgard and strong ale .”
shortly after teasing the ‘stranger’, manny turns back towards her own clothing rack. she lends an ear, but she really isn’t paying attention—until a few of spinner’s words manage to worm passed her lack of attention. her browsing stops & her eyebrows knit together. there’s something undoubtably familiar about the voice. it’s older, sure—but still familiar. her head tilts to the side as she slowly backtracks, getting closer to the changing rooms. thud. one half decent look at him, and the hanger in manny’s hand drops to the floor. ❝ oh.. my god, ❞ she murmurs. ❝ —spinner ? ❞ the usual strength in her voice remains, but anxiety & timidness lurk underneath it. out of all her years on the island, she hasn’t run into anyone from her neck of the woods, and she’d really hate to be wrong. manny blinks, unsure of how to process what she’s looking at. ❝ that really you, spin ? ❞
spinner had nearly knocked into the changing room from the speed he’d turned . crossing his arms over his chest, spinner tried to regain some kind of composure he’d previously ( sort of ) possessed. unfortunately, it’d the only lasted for a moment until his eyes widened. “ holy shit . . . ! manny , what’s up ? ” he throws out his arms in surprise, showcasing the terribly triangular display on the front of the shirt . he steps forward, a shocked scoff erupting from his lips “ last time i saw you - ” he scratched his head, trying to recall when it actually WAS that he’d seen them last. drawing a blank he blinked twice, his smile turned with confusion. “ uh , i actually don’t remember the last time i saw you . ” weird , but spinner didn’t wait to think on it . the shock of seeing his old classmate was enough to keep his attention. “ what’s up, santos ? ! ”
“really?“ will had never given much thought to his aura but he was curious to hear what the woman had to say. “i’m all good, i think. why, is vibrating bad?“ at the warning, his brows furrowed. he was pretty sure he didn’t even have a license – thought it was an odd thing to be unsure about, he realised. “i don’t think i’ll be driving anytime soon but hey, thanks for the warning! i’m will, by the way,“ he extended a hand.
“ oh , nothing is ever at REST in the universe . the air vibrates, the river flows, the earth revolves . . . vibration –––– it’s not necessarily a bad thing . " with a quick glance down, she took her hand in his, resisting the temptation to flip it over, the seer continued instead, “ sybill . it’s a pleasure. ” she released the hand from her grip, dark orbs narrowed, her vision floating around the other, observing the shades of yellow carefully before speaking , “ your soul, it longs for an experience filled with peace . ” after a moment , she looked at them curiously. “ but peace .. peace can only come when the vibrations regain a rhythm. ” it was odd, since will didn’t lack in harmony , “ perhaps developing a protecting auric shell could help ! ”
on her shortcut through the park, molly can’t help but notice godric’s outburst. she pushes up her brows as she slows to a stop- curious as to what he’s saying. “kings with integrity?” scoffs molly as her head slightly leans. “what history books have you been reading lately?” her head shakes. “kings tend not to have integrity. no one’s ever demanded that of them, or held them accountable for it. so they’ve never needed it. quite depressing, really.”
unfortunately. “ seeing the flaws in the world is a curse only retained by few ! you must be a powerful witc –––– er woman . ” godric catches himself a second too late, instead of trying to backtrack, he instead pushed forward, a finger pointing towards the other before continuing, “ i suppose good council can be hard to come by. ” he’d been lucky, between helena and rowena , he had developed a strict moral compass ( although one that had been corrected more times than he could count ) but now that he’d been at the island , he hadn’t been rewarded the same gift. perhaps THAT’S why he was memorizing shakespeare instead of being a pillar of society . “ say , do you consider yourself a principled dame ? ”

FOURTH OF JULY GONE WRONG STARTERS
“I’m pretty sure that’s how my cousin lost his thumb.”
“So, the fireworks might have gone through the window…”
“The store ran out of beer.”
“Can you Americans be less obnoxious?”
“I just saw an old man run down the street in a flag speedo.”
“Stop shooting those off! My dogs are going ballistic!”
“You’re supposed to let go before it fires!”
“Are you sure bootleg fireworks are a good idea?”
“Will you stop singing Hamilton already?!”
“Captain America didn’t fly into an iceberg for this.”
“I don’t want to celebrate a country where Trump is a viable presidential nominee.”
“Is it supposed to be smoking like that?”
“Oh shit. The flag’s on fire.”
“That bootleg firework ate a hole through the roof!”
“Don’t point that at your eye!”
“Stop aiming at people!”
“I… think this is a real grenade.”
“Everyone at this bar is dressed like a founding father. A sexy founding father.”
“I’m not sure that fireworks are legal here.”
“No, you cannot throw poppers in the toilet!”
“Ha. Look. That last one exploded in the shape of a dick.”
“Someone’s great-uncle keeps talking to me about Nam again. Help.”
“Oh good. I was wondering when your family would start talking conspiracy theories.”
“I swear I just saw a mosquito big enough to pick up a toddler!”
“Is it legal to drink vodka on Independence Day?”
“Holy shit, there’s a ______ near the base of the firework! Someone get it!”
“I’ve been accidentally flashed so many times, you’d think it was Mardi Gras.”
“Hey, look! Someone’s trying to use fireworks to propose.”
“I refuse to eat a hot dog because no one’s willing to tell me what’s inside it.”
“Who knew sparklers were flammable?”
“I just saw someone wearing a flag as underwear. I can’t tell if they’re patriotic, or just disrespectful.”
“Has anyone figured out why we’re celebrating this holiday yet? Anyone?”
“Everyone is American on the fourth of July. Everyone!”
“Every time I try to open a beer, it explodes. What. The. Fuck.”
“The sparkler barely singed your hair. I promise, you can’t even tell!”
“I’m sorry I pushed you in the pool. Obviously, I didn’t know you ____.”
“Now that I’ve experienced an American holiday, I understand why everyone hates them.”
“I just saw some dude walking around with a bald eagle. What the fuck is happening?”
“I can’t tell if I fear or respect Americans more after today.”
as confusing as this whole ‘back to the future’ moment is, manny can’t help but be having a blast. it reminds her of the first school dance she ever snuck into at degrassi—and while the thought of home makes her heart ache, the clothing options are a nice distraction. manny’s minding her business, browsing the racks out outdated clothing, when she notices someone exiting a dressing room in. the sight of their ridiculous outfit makes manny choke on her own laughter, but she’s quick to cover her mouth. ❝ super cute, ❞ she promises sarcastically. ❝ it looks like you’re everyone in the breakfast club—all at once, and on their way to jazzercise. ❞
spinner wasn’t very gracious . especially in small, cramped dressing rooms. but there was no way he was going to stick with the powder blue tracksuit he’d woken up in . instead, he moved his leg around, testing out the flexibility of the thick demin, the uncomfortable stretching ( or lack there of ) around his knee made him cringe . “ dude . . ! ” he whined, vision skipping over the mess of clothes that he he’d compliled on the short wooden chair . maneuvering a green bucket hat from under a few colored pants, he pulled it over his curls before emerging from the dressing room . just as he’d gotten a good look at himself in the mirror , spinner’s face screwed, “ for real ? ” he shrugged off the patched demin jacket, revealing the loose white shirt that hid underneath. “ i don’t think i can do jazzercise in these . . . maybe some YMCA action .”
❝ and here i thought i had put it on silent, ❞ chloe drones. she hardly looks up from her magazine ( she isn’t into hippie - dippy shit, so auras don’t necessarily grab her attention ), but she does offer a slightly suspicious look. the more sybill talks, the more chloe’s eyebrows seem to furrow. is she—prophesying another one of her deaths ? despite writing the witch off as a crock of shit, she can’t ignore the shiver that goes down her spine. if something were to happen to her, she no longer had max to rewind time & bring her back. if she dies here, she’d just be.. dead. but still, she snorts. ❝ you clearly don’t know my history with fatality. ❞
“ i understand the hesitation , sometimes i too would rather tempt life’s foolish game than take public transportation . ” her response was languid, although her expression slightly crestfallen , glittery nails pressed against the bridge of her nose , a lame attempt to brush off the sensory overload as it came in waves . the sparks of turquoise and silver that glittered around chloe teased her, sybill heads the silver warning, swaying away from the feelings of doubt, a nervous smile appearing . “ regardless , tread carefully ! putting yourself on silent . . shouldn’t you be taking care of yourself better ? ”
AH YES, THE MYSTICAL ARTS – something killian was entirely too familiar with, and yet this ? this felt foreign. he wasn’t at all tuned into auras and soul colors and zodiac signs and peering into the veil of the future, or whatever it was that con artists on a boardwalk would spout off about to make a quick buck. an easy smile spreads across the pirate’s lips and he leans against whatever’s closest ( and right now it’s the shelf in the grocery store holding different types of campbells soups ), folding his arms over his chest. “is that so ? i hate t’be the one to break it to ya, lass, but fatal might just be my given name.” the word had followed him around enough over the course of his existence that he probably wasn’t too far off from the truth, either.
“ is it truly ? ” excitement shone behind her eyes . her curiosity the better of her , as it so often did . the seer swung her arms, fingers lacing together behind her back . thoughts swam around her mind , bounding silently off the . “ did you know fatal comes from the latin word fatalis ? it means ‘ destined by fate ’ . . ! in the end ––– role certainty , clarity of purpose , isn’t that what so many painstakingly search for ? ” her gaze flickers back to the other, her lips turning in an innocent grin . “ do you make habit of running close to death ? ”
robin’s pace comes to a stop as the woman approaches him. did the island have to be so strange that he can’t go to the bloody grocery without someone spewing something kooky? “reckon i’m all right to take my chances. thanks.”
“ ᴏʜ ! of course , by all means ! a brave man like yourself , you should be just fine . ” sybill waved her hands , a mirror to the others dismissal . instead of furthering her warning , her attention shifts, her hands sway above mounds of fruit , eyes scanning over vibrantly colored apples absentmindedly . with a trepidatious look over her shoulder , her colorfully colored nails chose a golden apple from the bunch . “ besides , –––– i’ve heard valiant men fair very well in the afterlife ! ”
“ oh my ! you aura is absolutely vibrating, . . are you alright ? ” the misty toned witch couldn’t help it , since arriving she’d been trying to keep most of her cautionary tid - bits to herself . yet , she couldn’t help it , the color had been entirely too distracting to allow unrecognized. instead, she turned her head, as if to get a better look at the others surroundings. her eyebrows furrowed in confusion for the other before cautioning, “ i wouldn’t drive if i were you. four way stops while teetering on passage to the beyond can be extremely dangerous, if not 𝗙𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗟 . ”
it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since you’ve stepped foot in the hallowed halls of hogwarts school, you know the face of your house’s founder when you see it. so when sirius catches a glimpse of none other than godric gryffindor, his curiosity refuses to let him keep strolling by. ❝ blimey, ❞ he mutters. ❝ they’ve just gone and brought every sorry soul back, haven’t they ? ❞ for once, sirius’ commentary is more for himself than anyone else. he approaches the legendary wizard as he finishes, a half empty cup of tea in hand. ❝ quite the decree, ❞ he comments, slight amusement cloaking his every word. ❝ though i can’t say i’ve ever met a king who hasn’t been power hungry. ❞
“ you’re english aren’t you ? do you not know of your own history ? Æthelstan was one of the greatest kings there ever was ! perhaps -- okay, yes, it was a short rule, but doesn’t diminish the honorability of the man . ” godric countered evenly, although by the end he looked more disinterested in the plot of the play and his old hazy past and instead increasingly more interested in the other. leaning in curiously, he questioned, “ have you been aquatinted with many kings in your time ? ” perhaps he could learn something about power hungry kings from the curly haired man . in any case, it could help him with a more accurate and genuine portrayal.
✳︎ / 𝙴𝚈𝙴𝚂 𝚁𝙴𝙼𝙰𝙸𝙽 𝙲𝙾𝙽𝙲𝙴𝙰𝙻𝙴𝙳 𝙱𝙴𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙳 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝙸𝚁 𝙻𝙸𝙳𝚂 𝙰𝚂 𝚂𝙷𝙴 𝙻𝙸𝚂𝚃𝙴𝙽𝚂 —— her attention is iron clad as she hangs onto every word that leaves godric. shortly after, her expression tenses, and her eyes open. lizzie meets godric with furrowed brows, eying him with impatience. ❛ woah, woah woah - don’t go rogue ! that’s not the next line, ❜ she points out. there’s something about listening to someone with an accent read shakespeare that she likes, even though she has no real reason to be participating in… whatever this is. ❛ what, you don’t like it now, so then my fun must come to an end ? ❜
GODRIC releases an exasperated noise, hands falling back to the heavy script, “ it’s not simply whether i like the contents or not, it’s unbecoming of someone of my stature to portray such a cold murderer, although it remains in the confines of the theatre . . ! it goes against my nature, elizabeth. i fought valiantly against the biased and nefarious nature of my foes not through stolen secrets and moonlight murders . ” at the very least, there were some promising monologues he had been appraising. and in end, his word and his actions were one in the same. with a great sigh, he digressed, “ is act ii any better ? ”
max’s face flexed with confusion, but not because she hit her head. emmett’s word choice just confused her. “don’t you mean count down from four?” she asks. a guttural groan leaves her as she forces herself to sit up, and it’s then she notices that emmett’s holding her skate board. despite her body’s protest, max climbs to her feet. “isn’t the first rule of stealing is to, i don’t know, flee the scene of the crime?” she raises an eyebrow, looking at emmett with an expectant expression. you gonna give it back, or?
emmett regained himself easily with a shrug of his shoulders, the measly mistake slipping his mind after the affront of behind called a thief. “ i’m just doing my duty as a good samaritan, putting in my time for neighborhood watch and you insult me. you should be a more grateful, freeloader ! ” emmett insulted, although the extension of the skateboard offered truce as did the laugh that followed, “ but , i guess if you’re lucid enough be the grammar police or whatever you probably don’t have a concussion. ” at least that’s what he thought could cancel out the probability of a concussion for the owner. that and something about sleep he couldn’t recall.
forget what you know about SYBIL TRELAWNEY, the canon one from HARRY POTTER ! they’ve been a 19 y/o student since arriving 1 YEAR ago. you could call them the town CRYSTAL GAZER ; they’ve got a rep for being + STRIKING & + DEMURE yet - MELANCHOLIC & - ISOLATED, but are associated w/ [ divine fortune. layered rings. working in coincidence. grey areas. dreaming of the future, stuck in the past. ]. they remember getting her job at hogwarts.
sʏʙɪʟʟ was the great great granddaughter of the seer cassandra trelawney. not that she knew it at first. her mother had been a pureblood and had distanced herself greatly from the world of magic after the taboo of a muggle man had became the taboo of a child. her mother lived in fear that her half blood child would be driven mad by the power her own mother couldn’t harness. the gift of being all knowing had always come with sacrifice. yet the attempt to distance her family from magic had only resurfaced it’s roots. sybill had become a child with an affinity for coincidences and sets of three. perhaps at times portrayed as mystically mad, sybill often favored riddles and shades of grey, dancing in long dresses and looking through crystals.
she could recall clearly how many freckles had been on her dearest’s cheeks. she remembered the fabric of their cream colored couch and the feeling of their cats fur between her fingers. yet, the memory of their dreadful argument had appeared more perspicuous than any of her visions had ever been. if she WERE to be hired, he’d thought it absurd to continue with her own last name. he’d wanted her to abandon her heritage, her legacy, to instead be called higglebottom ? she remembered saying no, the sound of the door slamming and the pounding rain hitting her cheeks. she didn’t remember her time at hogwarts, or much of what albus dumbledore had said to her that night. she remembered her sweaty palms, her amber painted nails digging into her soft flesh. the interview felt like her last chance. the key for her room at the hog’s head reminded her that it was.
in requiem, when not taking courses at university, through clouds of smoke and dark hallways, sybill can be found trading fear for trust in tarot cards for a negotiable fee. although sybill is trying to move forward and make her new life here, her incomplete memories still rattle brokenly in her head.
