I don’t know why the sudden wave of hate towards this band.
1) TØP are entitled to their own opinions of themselves and others
2) Lane Boy is not racist and wow, I’m so sorry if you find me racist for saying this but I don’t know how to make things politically correct, black people actually DON’T own the rap genre. Yes, rap IS predominantly owned and the majority of the popular artists in the genre ARE black. I don’t understand why folks seem to be threatened by his popularity in the genre and his now fairly major foot in it. Yes. People have rapped about the same subjects. Yep, there are other white rappers! But I think everyone is just taking Lane Boy way too seriously. It was Tyler’s way of saying he wants to be different from what producers & the like told him, and what YOU all are saying too: “You should sit down and keep to what you know.”
3) Because Tyler has a “transphobic” brother, I have seen no evidence but I’m sure you all will GLADLY pull it up for me, this means he follows the same views? I don’t know about you but I am absolutely nothing like the rest of my family. For instance, my father is not exactly homophobic but I will tell you he is very against gay marriage. Personally, I think it’s great. Wow, we aren’t the same person imagine that.
4) I am 23 years old. I have loved this band for three years now, and the fan base has changed a lot since their recent billboard hits. Just as many other new and popular artists, namely boy bands, the fan base is now compromised of mostly 11 - 18 year olds. I personally see no problem with it, because I don’t play the ownership card over “real” fans in the fandom. You know what kids do though, right? They say some stupid shit. Lots of it actually. Tell me you didn’t know that? Hell, adults say even stupider shit. If you don’t like what a person says about something they love, unfollow their blog.
Leave us alone and fucking listen to some music you DO like and love it like we love Twenty One Pilots. I hope you one day find something you can love as whole heartedly as we love them, because the feeling is liberating and unmatchable.
