JAKE.
❛ you were WORRIED, huh? about the jake? interesting. ❜
clearly jake was pleased by this, deep brown eyes raising up to where vincent stood. and of course he wasn't going to question what the other man claimed. he might have been the same insensitive, slightly sociopathic jock that he always had been, but that didn’t mean he didn’t like hearing these kind of things. ESPECIALLY when brooke was the one who was by his side while he recovered, not his parents. adding a new person to the mix made him feel great. he let the man grab his hand because who would fight that? and tried propping himself up.
❛ help me get out of here. the meds wore off hours ago and i don’t want to think. ❜
about WILL, of course.
❝ i can walk out that door faster than i came in if you turn this into a big deal. ❞
vincent knew that it was ariana who had put jake into the hospital, trying to scare the rest of the group and making them know just how serious this all was. for the most part the man was just checking up on the jock to make sure that he didn’t see anything that could get them both in trouble, but a part of him was actually worried about the boy. feelings were overrated in his opinion and that’s why he chose to push them to the back of his mind, not even caring about them in the slightest. blue hues looked around the hospital room, all the shades were closed and the door was shut, so vince was free to take a seat on the bed, not occupying that much space. he looked down at the boy, rubbing his thumb over the other’s hand slowly. where did the line draw between acting and feeling? vincent and his ulterior motives no longer knew the answer to that.
❝ seeing as how you probably don’t want to go home, where am i supposed to take you? ❞
DEREK.
Derek couldn’t help but squint when the male answered his questions to the very point. He knew an awful lot for someone who he just sort of knew. It was a lead, and this guy was now the only suspect. Handsome ones always were these days, twisted individuals that got off on killing teenage girls. “Yes you…” He paused, hand rising so it fell down upon the mans shoulder. He spoke, while he attempted to guide him back over the line of tape. “You know her, you just so happen to be here, and it seems you are now the top suspect.” He smiled, patting the guy on the back. “Don’t worry your pretty face, I’m sure you have nothing to hide if you are innocent. So what does it matter if you are technically the biggest suspect.” He stopped at the tape line, putting the items he held away in his pocket. “Can you tell me anything else?”
Vincent only did something so stupid because that’s what a normal person would do, especially if they were innocent. People always seemed to act on their instincts and emotions, not bothering to think about the ramifications, so when he saw Riley’s dead body he decided to rush over and try to find out what happened. No matter if he was the one who actually killed her, no one but Ariana knew that and she wouldn’t say anything. He pretended to be offended, but ultimately understanding. “I get it, but trust me sir I just want to help. Riley... she was a very special student. Smart, sociable, always on top of her game, on the road to being valedictorian.” When Derek told him that he shouldn’t worry that much, Vincent stopped talking about the cover that he had. He couldn’t oversell the role he was playing either. He nodded slowly, trying his best not to look at the body and maintain his eyes on the officer. “What ever it is that you want to know, I’ll answer it to the best of my ability.”
JAKOB.
“Did you really never notice the way I looked at you and tried to flirt with you?” Jakob asked quietly. He stood in front of Vincent, his hands gently rubbing over the other’s arms. He placed soft kisses all over the other’s face and his neck, keeping his eyes closed as he did so. “That sounds wonderful, but I’m really fine with anything as long as I get to spend time with you.” He followed Vincent to the couch and made themselves comfortable on it, Jakob smirking as he sat down on his colleague’s lap so they could kiss properly. “If anyone here’s Prince Charming, then it’s you. You remind of the guy from Ariel the little mermaid, what’s his name again?” He teased.
“I guess I just never really noticed? Most of me thought you were just being very friendly. This is the last time I confuse friendliness for flirting though, don’t worry.” Vincent really hadn’t caught on in the past few months that the two spent together. While holding onto Jakob’s hand with his right hand, Vincent moved his left back up again to cup the male’s cheek. He leaned slightly forward to return the small pecks onto the man’s lips. “Then we should get this first date scheduled for tonight, no matter what it’s going to be I want to spend tonight with you.” When they moved over to the couch, Vince wrapped his arms around his co-worker, making sure the teacher stood close to him. “Prince Eric? Does that mean that you’re going to save me from drowning and I’m going to make you a prince? Maybe we should go to the beach then. Get our fairy tale started.”
TIMOTHY.
Timothy couldn’t help but chuckle and smile when the man called him attractive. It wasn’t like it wasn’t something he heard on a regular bases from many people, he just wasn’t used to someone flirting with him first. He took another drink of the beer as the couple around him traded conversations of new houses and what it was like with their kids. “Well you are very handsome yourself and seeing as i was alone in the corner very heroic for saving me from leaving, almost like my very own superman.” He smiled again as he became more relaxed “ Being single at these things sucks its like dinner parties where made for couples but no one understands that and invites singles.”
That was only the first compliment of many if Timothy decided to stick around him for the rest of the night. There was something about charming people and making sure they knew just how beautiful they were that made Vincent feel like he was doing something right. That and he also liked how they reacted, seeing the different reactions people had fascinated him. “Do you really think so? Thank you. I hope you know I’m going to write in my journal tonight about how you find me handsome.” Vince couldn’t help but chuckle at how ridiculous he sounded. Taking own sup of the alcoholic beverage again he nodded slightly. “I wouldn’t mind being your superman if that means I get to say you by the end of the night and fly you away.” He shrugged his shoulders slightly, looking around the large gathering. “At least this time they only invited two singles. Maybe they were playing matchmaker.”
CARSON.
ooh, macbeth. don’t put him down as excited. “uh, yeah, sure. do i need to check both those out from the library, or is it like a classroom set?”
“the textbook you’ll be getting in class, but macbeth is going to be something that you need to get in the library.” a small pause from the teacher’s aide as he thought about what to say next. “you do know where that is right? or has no one given you the famous tour of the school?”
EMMA.
❝I don’t want to be that girl who can’t handle her life. I don’t want an extension. I’ll do the paper and have it in on time, like everyone else in class. It’s not a problem.❞
❝I’m not trying to treat you like you’re made of glass or anything, but it’s understandable if you need a little bit of more time. Although if you do not want it then you’ll have the same deadline as everyone else, no problem with that.❞
ARIANA.
“Might’ve been even better if you ask me. Bad deeds come back to you times ten.” Except for them. It seemed to come back to them positively. Blue gaze peer towards the door to be sure no lurking eyes pry into their session. Namely Noah Foster and Audrey Jensen. Brooke was too busy wavering between the lusty teacher and the arrogant jock himself— Jake. The idiot who referred to himself in the third person quite often. No sign of either of the two, that was good. It meant they weren’t catching onto their act. The two could play it up extremely well during class. She was his student and he was her teacher. Everyone just assumed she needed a little extra help`in math. God they were excellent at their acting. In fact, just for fun, the blonde decided to make herself cry— tears in her eyes, wiping her eye with her sleeve. “Maybe this isn’t right. Should we even be doing this? We can get caught and if that happens… I lose everything.” She stated seriously before bringing on her notorious smirk. “I think the actors are very well picked out. None of them know. But as you already guessed, Noah and Audrey are doing a little detective work. Which led them straight to Set. Or should I say.. Mr. Branson. Should keep those dimwits at bay for some time.”
“It’s that same thinking that has me honored working alongside of you.” Of course Vincent believed in karma, or at least somewhat of it. That was why he started doing this in the first place. He viewed himself as karma’s advocate, getting the revenge that it couldn’t against bitches like Nina that not only bullied those like Ariana, but preyed on blackmailing people like himself. He was always extra cautious when in the high school, knowing that Noah and Audrey were getting their noses in places where it didn’t belong. Emma seemed to only feed their little investigating hearts, but lucky none of them seemed to be around. The rest of the posse wasn’t even a threat, they were too wrapped around their pride or lust to focus on anything that was going on around them enough to actually want to find out the truth. The aide looked over at the blonde deeply for a second, seeing her put on that performance was entertaining as hell. Afterwards he clapped, smiling only softly. “I should be giving you a standing ovation, but that would draw more attention to us.” Vincent looked from her to the door, making sure that none of the students cared about what they were doing. “If that doesn’t keep them under wraps then we’ll just have to put the bulls eye on someone else. Maybe the sheriff or hell, even the principal?”
CHARLIE.
The boy could feel a small shiver running down his spine as the older male touched his leg and grabbed it lightly, something he was certainly not used to. ❝Y-Yeah, sure.❞, he assured the other, giving him a small smile. ❝Uh – m-maybe we could watch a m-movie.❞, he shrugged a little, walking over to his shelf with all of the movies he owned, looking through the different types.
Vincent could almost feel Charlie’s chill, getting a thrill of just what one of his touches could do to the boy. Of course he had to rid his mind of some of the thoughts that he was currently having, but he still knew that he could have fun with this. ❝You know, a movie sounds perfect right about now. Maybe a horror films? Those are always the best.❞ Soon enough the older male moved from the chair onto the bed, towards the middle of it as he laid down.
JAKE.
❛ my point EXACTLY. but i am getting something out of this so don’t expect me to flake out. i’m all in. i usually am. things will go perfectly as long as you don’t change your mind. you’re exactly right. besides, what if i need someone to call when the killer decides it’s time to come after me? ❜
little did he know, of course, that this was exactly the kind of DANGER he was wheeling himself into. call him stupid, but he never really minded risk. but that was if one was speaking in general. coming near death was something that he wasn’t exactly used to, but he’d even approach that if it got him things that he wanted. ( an example? brooke. ) as soon as jake started to return the kiss, it already seemed like it was OVER. this was frustrating, then again, he was a teenage boy. but everyone knew that jake fitzgerald liked a challenge. a tease. this was no different. one of his hands moved down swiftly, two fingers hooking themselves in the man’s belt loop.
❛ sure. now do you plan on doing more or should i go home and go to will or brooke or someone? ❜
❝ i’m not the only one that’s right then. you’re smart enough to know that the second you back out the same second your grades will begin to drop back again. also no one is going to suspect anything staff wise, they’ll just think i had a talk to you and got you a tutor. if that happens, i’ll be right there next to you to PROTECT you. ❞
that wasn’t exactly a lie either. if the killer was after jake than vincent wouldn’t have been too far away. he would have either been the one stabbing the oblivious boy or watching over his little spy, making sure that she didn’t mess up. for now though the jock wasn’t in any IMMEDIATE danger. mr. johnson was smart enough to see that he was benefiting from this, so he wouldn’t want his boy to get too hurt that he couldn’t do his dirty work either. yet it all depended how the story played out, because just like that vince could feel like jake was no longer good to him anymore. seeing how the boy still wanted to cling onto him, he didn’t back away, but hearing the other’s challenge drove him CRAZY. vincent was incredibly prideful and would never let someone else play with his food. he moved both his hands down to jake’s thighs, wrapping his hands around the back of them. as the teacher’s aide leaned forward, hungrily crashing his lips onto the student’s again, he picked the boy up. he led him over to the desk, placing him down rather quickly as he leaned forward.
❝ i’m going to teach you that you will never need someone else again, got that? ❞
FALLON.
Fallon grinned, bringing a hand to the collar of the man’s shirt, smoothing it slowly, letting her finger hook on his tie, “ Synthetic ?? “ she cooed softly, not letting the smile on her lips falter, “ Guess that teacher aide stuff comes c h e a p, huh ?? “
Her finger slipped down the front of his chest, feeling the fabric beneath her skin crinkle against his form, “ But not too cheap to go without a gym membership, “ Fallon little a childish giggle slip from between her lips, cocking an eyebrow as she tilted her head upwards.
For some reason his salary was always a touchy subject from him, so the man quickly clenched his jaw in order to control himself. He was only just slightly irritated because he thought that made people think less of him, and that wasn’t what he deserved at all. “ What does it matter to you anyways? “
Vincent looked down at her, keeping the contact very minimal. He only had one hand barely wrapped around her waist, wanting to make sure he could either pull her closer or push her away at a moment’s notice. “ Is that some- thing you’re just going to comment on or admire? “ His eyebrows rose slightly as he asked the question, knowing he should have been smarter about this.
ARIANA.
Study time again with the teacher was always her favorite. Where he’d show her how to pass Algebra and discuss a little murder quite literally. The blonde’s eyes were glued to the page until he decided to speak. It was the sign that no one would hear them unless they open the door. Which, they’d hear that easily with the fix to the hinges. “— I guess no more after school specials with his students. Perfect ending for those two.” Did she feel bad? Not at all. They were getting what has been coming for time and time again and it all started with Nina when he slit her throat wide open, letting her char Tyler crispy as chicken after being suspect of Nina’s murder. “Even I was convinced you were taken by complete surprise.”
Could people really be that naive to not realize what was going on? Most of his study sessions only lasted a couple of weeks at best because he always managed to get the students back on track with whatever it was they needed. This one, the secret club with the blonde, had been going on for months. For the most part it didn’t even seem like she needed the help, but Vincent knew that people believed what they wanted to believe. “It’s too bad, I was waiting for them to just walk in on them having sex. Imagine what a scandal and trauma it would have been for the two of them? Teacher and student bone on school property, almost get killed, and then the teacher gets arrested.” Mr. Johnson chuckled softly just thinking about it. He shrugged his shoulders slightly, blue orbs hovering over the girl. “Well, you know what they say, a play is only as good as it’s actors. Plus, you’re always better off with a really good lie anyway.”
TIMOTHY.
After his divorce it was always hard being at parties like this, and 5 years later the parties his friends had still caused the same feelings. He wished for two things, to go back to the parties they had in college filled with beer pong and hook ups that where laughed about the next morning, or to find someone that was willing to attend this things with him. It wasn’t that he hated his friends, no it was simple the fact that woman he had married had quickly moved on and here he was forced to see how happy she was and how lonely he had become. He sighed as he took another sip waiting till he was able to leave and not seem rude.
He perked up when he heard a single voice speak to him. “Timothy,” He smiled “Glad to see im the not the only one here alone and if did come with someone not attached at the hip
There was only one time period where Vincent actually didn’t attend these events alone. It was the time where he was dating the most serious girlfriend till this day, until of course she dumped him when he switched from being a writer to a teacher’s aid and sub. It was some bullshit excuse that he had no time for. The only reason why he decided to continue going to these parties was the fact that he had been committed already. He wasn’t the type to quit anything, no matter how lame he thought it was. Hopefully thought things were going to get that much better with some new company, a man who seemed to be as free as he was tonight.
Vincent took another small sip of his drink before setting it down on the counter, grinning slightly. “The pleasure is all mine, Timothy.” He shook his head slightly, looking around quickly before looking back at the man. “I’m here single as well, unlike ninety eight percent of this room. It’s almost a breath of fresh air to see someone attractive and single here, or at least without a date for the night.”
DEREK.
Sick, maybe a little twisted though one had to be in order to kill. Even cops couldn’t say they were entirely innocent, they too got a rush from killing another. Self defense, or not it was all the same. This one was a female, seemed young, above teenage years. They had very little information on her, that is until a suspect had crossed the line and mentioned who she was. A student, at least that provided them with a place to investigate. This would also help with actually identifying her instead of having to wait on results. “As much as I want to kick your ass back over that line.” He pointed, eyes scanning the male. “You won’t be asking the questions here. Who is she, name, age? Exactly how do you know her, but just to answer your question there are a few leads and I’m talking to one of them.” He smiled, taking out a little booklet and pen. Technically that meant anyone in the area was a lead, or anyone who knew her might of had some kind of motive.
Vincent had his own little idea about killing that made him think he wasn’t all that guilty. Police did it whenever it was necessary to take down a threat. Soldiers did it while they fought to protect the country they love. He viewed himself to be somewhere in between. He was tainted with the idea of revenge and believed that he was doing it for the good of others. Mr. Johnson did however know that coming forth and identifying the body would put him on the police’s radar. Although if he played this out correctly he would prove to be an ally for them and be taken off of the suspect list just like that. It was a perfect plan, in his eyes. “I-I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have crossed, but when I saw her face I couldn’t help it...” He had turned away from the body, now facing the man completely. “Hey name is Riley Marra. She’s a sixteen year old student at George Washington, where I’m a teacher’s aid and substitute. She’s in one of the English classes I’m a part of.” Vincent’s eyes widened at the last part, pretending to be shocked. “Wait, me?” He knew he couldn’t overreact, but he couldn’t under-react either. It was hard finding a balance.
???.
Caroline’s eyes narrowed, watching the stranger carefully. “Friends with Damon?” she declared with a scoff, shaking her head. “Who are you?” she questioned, a hand going to her hip. The blonde continued to eye the boy suspiciously. “And who the hell is willingly friends with Damon?!”
"Yes, friends with Damon. You know the one with the crystal blue eyes? Yeah, that one.” Vincent rose his hands up in self defense, taking a step back from the neurotic blonde. His eye- brows scrunched up together as he continued to stare at her. “Name’s Vincent, Vincent Johnson. Now who are you since you haven’t told me that name?” He shrugged his shoulders slightly. “Lots of people, that I know of.”
CARSON.
“right, cool. are there likes, books i need to get from the library or something? required reading material to rot my brain out?”
“at the moment we’re just going through the textbook, some of the more basic concepts, but soon enough we’re going to be reading macbeth. if you want you can get a head start on that?”
