More video coming soon.
We "Caption" your wedding.
Day 1 - Today is the day of setting up Imprint Captions in Liverpool in some pub discusing some ideas and researching the local who would be interested in the services we are thinking of providing.
My name is Amanda and I am based in Manchester. I am Hard of hearing and wore a cochlear implant which have transform my life for the better. I have been bought up in the hearing world with no knowledge of sign language and often struggle to keep up with people by lip reading.
I studied Photography throughout university and I am now a wedding photographer. One day I met up with an old friend who is hard of hearing and she was showing me her wedding DVD. Her video was showing a selective still wedding images and soundtrack and when it come to the video of wedding speech, she skipped forward. I asked her why she skipped it, she replied: "I can't hear what people are saying" Her own wedding speech and she can not hear what was being said! I felt like changing that around.
So, Today is the day that Imprint Captions will change that for many people who are either deaf/Hard of hearing, or basically need captions to enjoy their own wedding video.
While in the pub in Liverpool, I met up with a young lady called Clare who has a mother who is also profoundly deaf. With her knowledge and understanding the background of deafness, she decided to help with the research. We have been busy researching, contacting people who would be interesting in this service. We have make a list to do, designing flyers, finding some clubs, facebook.
