Who needs pick up lines when original dialogue is brimming with goodness.
"Nothing much, but feeling a bit under the weather today" she sighed. "And you?"
“That sucks, yo. You should get yourself some ramen! Makes me feel better, just drinking the broth!” He said with a grin and a pound to his chest. “That’s why I hardly get sick. A bowl of ramen a day keeps the bros out to play!” His eyes narrowed and he paused to think for a moment. “Uh. Or something like that! Me? I’m okay, just a bit tired though. I worked a long day!”
>> Hello!
“Yo, short stuff! What’s up?”
Beat nodded along; he totally understood that, he was always snacking on something! He listened intently about Johnny’s travels. “Wow! That’s mad cool of you! I wish I could just pick up my crap and go somewhere, anywhere, but I got too much stuff going on.” He frowned lightly and sighed. Beat knew he wouldn’t be able to go anywhere, not without his sister. He’d just have to wait for the right moment, and then hopefully take her with him. “You think you could tell me a little about some of the places you’ve been?”
“Sure, dude! I don’t see why not. I love telling stories about my adventures and sometimes, they just spill out at random moments I feel I should tell a story in. But like, as long as we head to the location for food, I’ll tell ya my stories and yo! Maybe you can even accompany me on a trip. Sure, I like to go at things alone but it’s always nice trying new things right?” Once Beat had agreed, Jonathan fixed his backpack on his back and started to walk next to his newly made friend. “Um, I’ve been to France, Spain, the UK, Hungary, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Romania, Mexico and a bunch of other places!” A chuckle surpassed his dried lips and he looked upwards and around his area. “There was this one time In Hamburg I roomed with this dude who I caught trying to steal my shampoo, I was all, “Woah, man”, then he threw a flower pot at me, but he was cool.”
"Great!" Beat agreed with a laugh, leading Johnny towards the ramen shop close by. Man, the other guy sure talked a lot, but Beat didn't mind. He did his own fair share of talking too. It was nice to listen every once in a while, especially to someone who had a lot of real cool things to talk about. "Damn!" He exclaimed, eyes wide with interest. "That's a lot of places! And to think, I've never even left my home town." Beat could hardly imagine living life outside of what he was used to, and here was a guy doin' it! Laughing at Johnny's anecdote, he had to stop for a second to ask, "Wait, Hamburg? Is that where we get hamburgers from? And why was he trying to steal your shampoo?!"
“I guess you’re right. I mean, you can’t go around calling me Beanie or Blondie, and I guess I can’t go around calling you Spiky or Ginger,” Beat said after stopping to think about what the other guy had said. Offering his hand to the other, he continued, “I’m Beat. And if I got free food from my workplace, there’d be no food left for the customers. Don’t worry about it, it’s really not a big deal.”
Neku chuckled quietly at the other’s comment before pulling a hand from his pocket and giving the other’s a firm shake. “Well Blondie,” now that the other had said it, he was never going to live it down, “I’m Neku, and if I can scrounge up the money once we get there, I’ll try and help pay for at least a little.” He rolled his shoulders, arms both falling back in place at his side, “But I’m a bit low on cash, so it may take me a while to pay you back…alright?”
"Oh no, man, you're not gonna be callin' me blondie for real, are ya?" Beat asked, flailing unhappily. Gaaah! Having such blond hair really made him so non-intimidating. Or was it unintimidating? He shrugged the thought off, and looked at the other. "Don't you worry about it, bro," He said, clapping Neku on the back, "We're friends now. The least I can do is buy you some damn good ramen. My treat, okay?"
“Oh, yeah! I guess I probably shouldn’t take out strangers for food… I’m Beat,” He introduced, offering a hand to the other guy. “Who are you?”
“Smart choice, Beat.” Joshua said, taking the other’s outstretched hand in his own and shaking it lightly. “I’m Joshua.”
Beat laughed at the notion of being called smart, and conversely, gave the other boy's hand a firm squeeze and a rough shake. "Good to meet you, Josh! Now how about that ramen, right?"

“It is a pretty sweet name, isn’t it? Yours isn’t half bad either, dude.” Beat agreed with a smile and a thoughtful expression. “Really? How long has it been since you’ve eaten? I can barely go a couple hours without eating!” He paused and looked Johnny over. “Where’ve you been travelling to?”
“Thanks and I kinda ate all my food early— got a sudden craving for food. Which is funny, cause I get those a lot and just ignore it.” Eyes adverted to the side to think about what had gone on earlier. Seems like a lot went on; gaze turned back at Beat, smiling. “Oh, I’ve been backpacking across Europe. I just know that I got on a boat and it was heading somewhere and next thing I know, bam! New location.”
Beat nodded along; he totally understood that, he was always snacking on something! He listened intently about Johnny's travels. "Wow! That's mad cool of you! “Interduction? Nah man, the language of food is a language everyone understands! And it’s obviously the best way to meet people and make friends.” Beat scrunched up his face in thought and sighed. “Well, it’s your lucky day. I happen to work at a ramen place, so I guess it’ll be my treat. This time.”
“I find that telling people your name tends to help with that whole process, but hey, whatever floats your boat man.” Neku shrugged his shoulders and tilted his head ever so slightly as the other mentioned working at a ramen place. “If you work there, don’t you get free food, or at least a discount or something?”
"I guess you're right. I mean, you can't go around calling me Beanie or Blondie, and I guess I can't go around calling you Spiky or Ginger," Beat said after stopping to think about what the other guy had said. “Like ramen?! Bro, that’s my favorite food! And curry. Mmm. Yeah, I think I could get to like you too! Anyway I’m Beat, and I know a really good place to eat.”
“Sounds like a plan, man! And Beat? That’s a pretty sweet name.” He held onto the straps of his backpack rather loosely. “It’s been a while since I’ve last ate- traveling and all- oh, I’m Jonathan. Johnny’s just as chill as well.”
"It is a pretty sweet name, isn't it? Yours isn't half bad either, dude." Beat agreed with a smile and a thoughtful expression. "Really? How long has it been since you've eaten? I can barely go a couple hours without eating!" He paused and looked Johnny over. "Where've you been travelling to?"

“Yo!” Beat greeted with a grin and a wave. “Anyone hungry? I could go for some ramen.”
“Hello.” Joshua blinked at the other before smirking a bit. “Well I guess I could go for some. But a name of the company would be nice first.”
"Oh, yeah! I guess I probably shouldn't take out strangers for food... I'm Beat," He introduced, offering a hand to the other guy. "Who are you?"

Neku gave a tilt of his head, sighing as he looked over the boisterous stranger, “Not even an introduction huh? Whatever.” A roll of the eyes and, “Fine. But only if you pay.”
