A laugh, thick with mirth and blood, bubbled out of the lithe terrorist. She wasn’t a nice person. She was hardly even a person at times, little more than a methodical chaos creator. A mess of contradictions, from her chapped pink lips to thick combat boots.
But that didn’t deter the executioner, desperate for her bounty.
Perhaps Jinx should have expected this. For all the bombs she threw, the bullets she shot, the explosions she detonated, there had to be a point where it all broke. The way in which it all climaxed caught her by surprise, if she was honest. Surprises weren’t a thing, ya know?
Jinx anticipated chaos. She expected the unexpected.
The soul reaver approaching her, lacerations across his torso like medals of honor, was a death sentence. She had run, she had hidden, she had thrown more than her fair share of things at him. Grenades, bullets, whatever she had on her. Something to stop his advance. She wasn’t ready. It wasn’t time.
"Couldn’t just let me go, huh?"
"Not with how much you’re worth — sorry babe, money’s money.” A grin, quick and ruthless. “Gotta admire your style, though.”
Both were showmen. Jinx could feel herself bleeding out, and she knew it’d be moments before she breathed again. A few huffs, escaped her lips as he approached. He didn’t need to be so close, he could have thrown an axe, killed her there and then. But he didn’t.
This was different from her other times, she noted. The glowing, hovering mouth seemed poised for — something.
”Aw, you gonna kiss me goodnight~?”
Blackness surrounded her vision, not before lips met her own. Strange, glowing, and really kinda — fun. Like a tiny explosion, warm and burning and lingering. She could only — kiss? — back, eyebrows high on her forehead.
“I’m gonna get you — ” Jinx whispered as she fell dead, her braids forming her signature heart. An ode to the summoner who’d watched her die, who’d controlled her so terribly. She loved them, for providing chaos to her life. She hated Draven.
