So I had this idea for a scene and idk how plausible it is but it brought me a fleeting moment of happiness so here:

Will and Mike are facing down Vecna, it's the final battle, and it's getting close. Vecna's putting up a strong resistance, infiltrating people's minds and forcing them to see terrible things. Will is unaffected by this (not sure why) but Mike is not, and he's getting weaker and weaker. El is off in the center of it all, unable to help any individuals, even Mike. Will starts screaming out to Mike, urging him to focus on his happiest memories, encouraging out of the dark twisted images Vecna was causing, even continuously bringing up El under the impression that the thought of her alone could snap him out of it. As he's yelling, desperately trying to save Mike, the world around begins to crumble. Not from the chaos of the battle, or anything like that. Will's inside Mike's mind, and the darkness is tearing away, a new scene bursting with light. Will mentally prepares himself, certain he's going to witness Mike's first kiss with El. But it's not.

will has always had powers and that is why vecna targeted him in s1 and why he took him to the upside down instead of killing him because he thought will would be useful but will's powers are dormant & he is unaware he has them so his powers are gonna have be woken up in a carrie style moment and that is how we find out will has powers and-

Wishful thinking, but we may get a Mike realization that Will was talking about himself in the van. It could parallel to Will's "So stupid. Stupid stupid." scene where he tears apart Castle Byers, but Mike tears apart the basement. Mike Wheeler breakdown about his internal conflicts I would like to see it. If no Vena-ing then I need SOMETHING. The world as he knows it is falling apart. The future of Hawkins and his life is uncertain. His family and loved ones caught in the middle. hmm

The way that this is all I can think of now. I actually need a parallel to Mike breaking down in his basement crying sobbing throwing things and muttering "stupid, so stupid" over and over. This would be a great parallel and also a nice clue to the audience that this is a direct connection to Will, as it's the same as his scene in S3. You're so right though that if he doesn't get vecna'd (which would be a major missed opportunity), he needs to let his emotions out in someway. Finding out his best friend since forever has actually been in love with him this whole time would be a game changer for him. I need to see the realization hit him. I need to see him slowly work though it. I need to see Mike's face cycle through all 5 stages of grief, then a hopeful smile, and then utter guilt and despair for how stupid he's been this whole time. How much time he's wasted being oblivious, when he could've spent it with Will. Bonus points if he has this realization and sprints out of his house to go tell Will only to find him either taken by Vecna or in another state of danger. I need protective Mike from S2 back!

I really like the idea being thrown around that Mike has a stack of unsent letters to Will. All of them signed Love, Mike. Because it does make sense — imagine writing a letter to your best friend and signing it easily with love, and then writing a letter to your girlfriend, and you freeze. You’re stuck. It’s supposed to be just as easy, but suddenly it’s not, and you’re forced to confront something. What do you do? Hide the ones that hold a secret and send the one that makes sense to the world! I don’t know, I just think it’s really neat!
