For Death and Sorrow, The Colours White.
At that, Cal felt his own ears going red. āLight, Iām an idiot,ā he murmured, shaking his head ever so slightly, nose brushing against hers. āIām so, so sorry it took me this long to realize⦠All this time we could have had togetherā¦ā
āIf you are then I am as wellā She said softly, giggling and smiling at the brush of nose against nose. Now being the one to shake her head slightly, she squeezed his hand āNone of that, we have time now. From right now until forever. No apology needed in the slightest alright? Plus if anyone should be apologizing for that anyway, it should be me, I could have told you at any time and almost did but chickened out.ā
āI spent so long⦠lying to myself,ā Cal admitted, the hand on her back tracing soothing circles. āFor so long, I didnāt even realize how I felt⦠but I love you, Variel.ā He leaned in, giving her another quick kiss before murmuring again, āI love you,ā and kissing her more deeply.
Variel stayed silent as he spoke but gave him a gentle āOhā look, wanting nothing more than to hold him tighter than she already was and reassure him that it was alright.
With everything that he had gone through, it seemed to her that heād only really begun living not surviving after heād come back, after meeting Gabriel. It just made sense to her what he was saying.
Relaxing at the hand on her back, she let out a soft cooing noise. Trying to ignore how her lips curled up into a smile at his āI love youā. She kissed him back, moving a hand to his cheek as he kissed her a second time.
āI love you too Cal, so so muchā She mumbled into the kiss
āSoā¦ā Cal said, his crooked smirk spreading across his lips. āWhatās this I heard about a wedding?ā
Varielās mouth dropped open, her previous conversation with Gabriel flashing into her head for a moment before she groaned and hid her face into his shoulder. She could already feel her face heating up
āThere will not be one at this rateā She said with another loud dramatic groan, poking him gently in the cheek āI had hoped your brother would not mention it to youā
Cal grimaced. āSorryā¦ā he said, his thumb tracing over her heated cheek. āHe was very approving, if that helps at all. Thought you were good fun.ā He shook his head, letting out a sigh. āI was actually quite upset with him when he told me he paid you a visitā¦ā
"It is alright" Came her muffled reply, relaxing with a soft hum at the feeling of his thumb at her cheek. She fought with a small pleased smirk at the 'he approved' comment, she had done good there at least, before she pulled back slightly to look at him. Her expression open and curious "You were?"
