Dandelion wishes
i almost had your heart
ang akong kasingkasing
walay hunong sa pagtawag
sa imong ngalan,
walay hunong sa paghandom
kanimo matag adlaw.
V!
you are a poem
scratched
into the walls
of my throat
There are hearts
Fit to be called dried leaves:
No matter the times you water them
they’ll never live for you
and it’s for the best to let go,
let the wind sweep them away.

What You Capture
Part of me believes I could easily live my life in the post-midnight hours, constrained by the dark and the absence of consciousness of all I hold dear
but tonight there are glimmers under the changing moon that I will outlast this and not every after needs shoring up someday soon, it will be June and the night
so very brief that the in between reads like nothing but showers of blossom, blithe, blatant blossom, the wind’s answer
to why spring sets you free.
kwarenta.
a bruised trunk
to some the creases
mean wisdom
to others a sin
for me deep breaths
are needed for
deadheading daffodils
My heart soft made of snow melts with just one twist of his laced lips.
midnight tea
inside that room,
behind that sole frosted window
it was just you and me:
you — owning the darkness of my soul
and the squint of light in my heart
me — just waiting and wanting to
see the sunrise on your skin
over and over again
how can wild and intense moments
leave no remnants,
no fragments of what we once were
it happened, but i feel like
a dried aster flower in March
every morning
there’s coffee on my lips
and you on my mind
