1870s
Yukiabe Sara
The eldest daughter of the Yukiabe family, known for their pharmaceuticals
Became a professional shoka (calligraphy artist) at 7 years old
Started out by recording her parents’ medicinal research
Taught calligraphy lessons to the children of wealthy families to support the family and her parents’ research
Additionally, she would hold shodo (calligraphy) performances with her students
She had an ego with great skill to back it up, but mostly acted selflessly with her siblings
The second youngest, Jouhei, would bother her beyond compare, sometimes even ruining her expensive ink
She’d always berate Jouhei and take away his toys when he misbehaved
However, she’d feel bad for doing so, so she would gift him something made by a carpenter “friend” of hers and play with Jouhei just as he always wanted
One day she was yelling at Jouhei for ruining the prescriptions she wrote, causing him to run away
Feeling terrible, Sara ran out to look for him but ended up freezing in the forest outside the city
She woke up to Hirotake Chinatsu, the Blood Hashira, warming her up
When she came back home, she found her family slaughtered by what Chinatsu said was a demon searching for blue spider lily medicine
She begged Chinatsu to help her get revenge and find her brother if he was still alive
She joined the Demon Slayer Corps at 17
She became Chinatsu’s tsukugo and under her created Ink Breathing, a modified version of water and blood breathing
She worked very hard to fight off demons and would send the Ubuyashiki family beautiful calligraphy to show her gratitude for letting her into the corps
She would be recklessly argumentative with her seniors, but kind and tender hearted to her juniors, and she would never deny them a chance to train or play
One day, Sara and Chinatsu were in the mountains upon hearing of a demon named Jinakui who attacked several samurai families
Upon meeting Jinakui, Sara noticed how much he spoke like a little brother—her little brother—and she was almost reluctant to kill him
It tore her apart that the brother she always scolded and drove away had gotten himself turned into a demon, and it hurt her even more so that it was her fault, and that she had to kill him
Sara and Chinatsu were able to defeat Jinakui, but after cutting off his head, Sara held Jinakui’s head and body close to her until he fully disintegrated
Before her brother died in her arms, she called out to God asking for Jouhei to take her place in heaven so that he could play with in peace with their family again
After that encounter, she became a quieter person who mainly just smiled and spoke only when needed
Sara would only talk the most with Chinatsu, the head of the Ubuyashiki family, and the children of the demon slayer families
She had met the lower rank who turned her brother into a demon
Sara did not even flinch taking down the demon, for her forms lacked any mercy or kindness, what remained was pure malice, proficiency and precision
Shortly after, Sara became a Hashira, but she didn’t feel fulfilled
Sara decided to take on a tsukugo, but many had died under her care as Hashira
She vowed to never take on anymore tsukugo until one demon slayer was particularly persistent and reminded Sara of her brother
In an encounter with another lower rank, Sara did the best she could to protect her tsukugo and in killing the demon, she lost her dominant hand for making calligraphy
She retired soon after, ashamed she couldn’t keep training her tsukugo, until her tsukugo decided to leave the corps with her and become her apprentice in calligraphy
Sara’s heart was full and accepted him as a pupil, and with that, Ink Breathing was no more
Sara went back home to find her carpenter “friend” still waiting for her and married him
She lived to grow into a decently old age with children and grandchildren and vowed to never deny them a chance to play
Jinakui/Yukiabe Jouhei
The fourth child of the Yukiabe Family
He was a troublemaker who just wanted to play
He’d watch the Samurai walk through the streets and overhear their stories
No matter the time of day nor occasion, he always wanted to play
Many times his playing would mess with his oldest sister’s profession, denying he knew that his roughhousing would result in such “accidents”
He would get angry and tell Sara he hates her whenever Sara took away his toys
One day, Sara was yelling at him particularly harshly and ran away, following some samurai into the forest
When he finally caught up to them, they had all been killed by a demon
The demon smelled medicine on him and asked Jouhei if he could “play”
Jouhei, none the wiser, agreed to play along with the demon
When Jouhei showed the demon where his home was, the demon told him to wait outside because he “sensed something was wrong”
Jouhei waited for five minutes outside until he opened the door to see his family slaughtered on the ground
The demon told Jouhei that the Samurai he followed on the mountain had murdered his family for not respecting their “play”
The demon manipulated Jouhei into wanting revenge on all Samurai by turning into a demon
However, when becoming a demon, Jouhei’s physique completely changed and he forgot all his memories, and earned the name Jinakui, a demon who just wants to play and have fun
From then on, Jinakui had his fun slaughtering samurai and using their corpses as toys to play make believe with
Sometimes, if he was feeling generous, Jinakui would turn some samurai into his minions to play around with
Six years after becoming a demon, he encountered two demon slayers for the first time
The slayer with an ink-stained haori took him head on while the slayer with a pink and red haori defeated all his minions
Fighting the ink-stained haori girl reminded him of how he’d fight with his sister in his years as a human, which felt forever ago but was only six years prior
He felt the contempt he had for his sister always yelling and berating him and taking away his things—everyone took away his things, even the trusted samurai and his oldest sister
However, Jinakui also felt exhilarated by the way the girl fought, almost as if they were playing a game
Fight after fight he enjoyed himself and he couldn’t figure out why
When the ink-stained haori girl would yell Jouhei, Jinakui would be confused in battle, wondering why it rang in his ears
The hesitation costed him his life as the ink-stained haori girl cut off his head
In his final moments, he remembered his past and decided that he was a shitty brother to everyone
He then realized that it wasn’t the samurai who killed his family, it was the demon he led straight to them—their death was his fault
He thought he deserved to die alone and away from his family who were probably playing together in heaven by now
Suddenly, he felt the warmed of a familiar embrace—the hug of his oldest sister
He remembered how she’d hold him and tell him stories of brave samurai, drawing the characters and playing pretend with him when he was small
He remembered how she’d inspire him to have such a wild and big imagination
He remembered how said he was when she gave all her attention to her practice when he just wanted to play with her again—nothing was more fun than playing with Sara
He heard the ink-stained haori girl’s cries about how she was the worst big sister ever and that she wished they could have played more
He finally recognized her and used his very last moment to tell her he had the most fun time playing with her in years
In death he met his family again, crying over his recklessness as his family accepted him in
He now waits to play with his oldest sister again
Hirotake Chinatsu
The Blood Pillar Hashira
Scarily the most talented Hashira of her time, and feared for her breathing forms to be too akin to blood demon art
In reality, it’s a modified version of water breathing, but with blood-related characteristics
It isn’t a beautiful form, but it’s incredibly powerful, and no one can do it like Chinatsu
Chinatsu found Sara almost freezing to death in the snow when a demon almost ate Sara
Chinatsu, after learning Sara’s family was killed by an upper rank, trained Sara to become a demon slayer, having had her own siblings killed by demons
She was impressed by Sara’s speed when learning her forms and took her on as her tsukugo
Chinatsu took Sara out on a mission to defeat a demon in the mountains, not knowing that the demon was Sara’s brother
She vowed to comfort and support Sara whenever she needed after watching her hold her dying brother in her arms before fading away
Chinatsu noticed how less bold Sara became, but also noticed how skilled she had become
Once Sara became a Hashira, Chinatsu did not remain in the corps for much longer in an active position
When she retired, she trained new and upcoming demon slayers both in water and blood breathing
Chinatsu attended Sara’s wedding as the one of only family she had left
Tsunekawa Istuki
Sara’s carpenter “friend”/lover
Would attend Sara’s public calligraphy performances and gift her something
Slowly fell in love over time
Asked Sara to marry him and was surprised when she refused, but understood what she had to focus on first
Istuki always offered to support her but she’d refused in case a demon would kill him because of her
He waited 12 years until Sara came back with her non-dominant arm
Sara didn’t think he’d want to marry her because she can’t do calligraphy anymore, but she couldn’t be more wrong
Istuki welcomed her back with open arms and proposed to her again, sobbing when she said yes

Shapes in Promare represent 3 side: ○=Humanity △=Burnish □=Foresight foundation
At the beginning, the sun radiance in the city was □. But in the end after Kray was defeated, it turned ○
That’s why pizza is the theme food of Promare. It’s the food that contains both ○+△
We could assume that pizza represents unity of normal human and burnish, since △ is the part of ○
Therefor when burnish pizza maker had been arrested, the other customers show disgust on those pieces of pizza. They didn’t think of burnish as the same human being as them
I forgor to post this but I started off the new year with a sweet GaloLio piece 🫶
Early visual development for Wish (2023) by Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay and Brittney Lee.
An earlier version of the film saw Star take on a human form as a magical, glowing character inspired by Peter Pan. Ultimately, the creative team reconceptualized Star as an ethereal, playful entity resembling Mickey Mouse. "Now Star and Asha have an emotional journey. They are soulmates." -Allison Moore.
Hot tip for parents both present and future: When your kid tells you something is wrong, listen to them!
Sorry for not posting much lately, I’ve been busy with work and personal stuff, including an upcoming spinal x-ray I’ve been waiting over a decade for and the angriest doctor I’ve ever met in my life
The normal amount of back pain in a child is ZERO.
And if you think it’s because of too many books, ask the fucking school why the kids don’t have time to put them away or get them out.
And send them to a doctor anyway. Spinal misalignment is one of the easiest things to detect. Just fucking do it.
The fact that this post found me means Tumblr knew about how I’ve had shoulder problems for six years and have told my DOCTOR parents time and time again that I’ve had problems but they just said that I’m fine, even if my shoulder looked “disfigured”.
They didn’t pay attention to it until my friends who I’ve known for only one semester had to convince me to let them bring me to the ER after an incident :)
FLAPPER FANNY SAYS, by Anericn cartoonist, Ethel Hays (1892-1989).
I do not understand why Flapper Fanny has turned into a Lovecraftian Elder God in the Sugar Daddy cartoon.
