If someone had told Lysandra years ago that Aelin would be one of her closest friends in the world and someone she would trust she would have laughed in their faces. She didn't trust anyone other than herself, but now she had more people than she could count on one hand that she would say she could trust. Aelin was at the top of that list and as she requested her company for the night the woman simply nodded. "Sure, scoot over." Lysandra moved over to where she was seated and took the spot next to her with a sight.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked softly knowing she herself often didn't want to talk about things that were bothering her. However, it was something that she had found worked best with her clients. If they seemed to be down and didn't want to use her body they would sometimes just use her ear to spill their secrets and worries. "Or would you rather reminisce on the good old days where you would have rather slit my throat than ask me to spend the night with you?" Lys asked with a little chuckle.

Elain’s head fell back, golden hair spilling like sunlight across the pillow as a soft gasp escaped her lips. The world narrowed the moment he entered her, her heart pounding so fiercely it echoed in her ears. How had she managed without this for so long? This wasn’t just love between them anymore—it was like a vow written into her skin, a choice she felt deep in her bones with their bond sealed. I love you, I love you, I love you over and over through the bond, each becoming needier, slowly, breathier until a physical moan escapes her lips. She's almost babbling at the pressure of his hips, but instead it comes out as please.

Her thighs clenched around him, her ankles pressing into the small of his back. His building momentum was edging her closer and closer. She was going to unravel in his arms, and her limbs trembled in anticipation of it. He knew her body better than she did, able to draw out sounds she never thought capable of making. "L-Lucien" His name is pitched high, breathy as fingertips dig into his shoulders. Elain whimpered at his punishing pace, unable to stop the way her back arched because she enjoyed it. "I-I'm" Her cheeks flushed, her stomach coiling tighter. "—please, I need you"

She needed him and who was he to deny his mate? Her wish was his command as he rolled his hips against her for that little extra friction to help push her over the edge as he tried his damnedest to bring himself over that edge with her. They were of one body, one soul, her pleasure was his and his was hers. He could feel it through the bond the way they both just spilled their love to the other echoing I love you back and forth. This was how it was always meant to be that was the other thing that was firmed in his soul, that they belonged together like two puzzle pieces clicking together.

It didn't take much longer for Lucien to crest over the edge of his orgasm spilling himself inside of his mate at the same time as she went over that edge too. He panted over top of her his hands bracketing her head as he smiled down at her a little crazed from everything they had done, but undeniably happy and blissed out. He kissed her then softly, tenderly, lovingly before slipping out so he may lay next to Elain and hold her close. "I love you." He said out loud once more as it was the only thing he could say tight now no other words seemed to be enough.

Big sisters are supposed to be the ones protecting the youngers not the other way around, but everything with their lives had been backwards ever since their father was crippled. They had been broken before with their mother's passing, but now they had been truly shattered. The war took plenty of things away from them all, but Elain it had taken the one thing both of her sisters had helped her keep and that was her innocence and now even that had been stripped away. She could see him in her mind every time she closed her eyes and feel the way the blade plunged into the King of Hybern's neck. That was for her father, for the last shred of her innocence, for the pieces of her that she would never get back.

Elain often found herself waking in the night from nightmares and visions she didn't understand sometimes just sobbing until she fell back asleep. She was bone tired and weary from it all now to the point she finally told someone about it and it wasn't Nesta she ran to, not this time, but Feyre. Feyre had made sure that they didn't die before they were all made fey, Feyre had been there when they needed help, and Elain knew that Feyre would be there still no matter how much she may have been putting a distance between them. She proved it now with her words.

"It's not the physical that I am worried about." Elain admitted taking a deep breath calming the nerves that started to rise in her chest even now. "It's what I see when I sleep and who I miss when I wake." Father. She really missed their father most of all right now.

A thoughtful look crossed his face as he held her eyes. She seemed so sure of herself and he felt awed by it. There was so much knowledge in that mind of hers that if he forgot her upbringing he might have asked her more about how and where she had learned most of it.

"I can imagine that you have." He commented with a small nod of his head, a smile settling across his lips. "What is something that you know that would impress Daenerys most?"

That was a difficult question to formulate an answer to. Missandei fell silent her mind churning as she focused on the table in front of her going through her catalogue of knowledge. "Perhaps something about her home." She had read some of the tomes that Ser Jorah had gifted Daenerys and she remembered one of them was histories of the Seven Kingdoms. "The House Targaryen first settled at Dragonstone after leaving Valyria before the Doom. King Aegon Targaryen made the painted table that resides there assuming the Usurpers that sit there now have not destroyed it. She may know that, but wouldn't expect you to know it."

"Of course you are." Ridoc really wasn't surprised by the declaration. Much like himself Violet did what she wanted no matter what people told her to do even if it was to stay safe. He had accepted this long ago and just made it a point to stay by her side no matter what she did. The man gave her a pat on the back and one of his boyish grins. "I knew you would say that so I'm staying with you. Ridoc and Vi against the world!" Who cared if that world was dangerously full of things that wanted to kill them?

For a moment he stared at her, his brows lifting as he regarded the look on her face. Somehow he believed that she would do just that. She would have killed him had his response been different. It seemed likely. A chill went up his spine and yet Rand also knew that he wasn't busying himself by planning a getaway. That felt a strange response.

He hesitated telling her the truth and yet, for one reason or another, Rand felt like she wouldn't much care about his confession. "I'm the son of some rebel or other. Someone that the crown will likely want to kill." he responded. He lowered his eyes briefly and then looked back into her eyes. "Do I really seem lawful?"

Arya had thought when she first met a rebel that they would look different. Though the more that she thought about perhaps she was technically a rebel now. She was the daughter of a proclaimed traitor after all and the sister of a would be usurper. She had her listed she recited every night like a prayer so why wouldn't she be considered a rebel now? It almost made her laugh to think about it.

"Perhaps you and I aren't so different after all. If you were to believe the King's proclamation I am the daughter and sister of rebels and traitors." She snorted and poked at the fire a bit with her stick before meeting his eyes her grey ones full of sincerity. "You seem like you would rather uphold the law than break it."

Rumi gave her friend a little almost sad smile of her own. She hasn't been able to sleep much lately either after speaking so much with Jinu. All of the secrets that she has been keeping felt like a great weight crushing her down to the point they were keeping her up. "Want some ice cream?" She asked moving over to the freezer and pulling out two pints for the two of them. This was how she was dealing with her problems as of late.

     SHE COULD BARELY KEEP ROBB on his feet and moving forwards, his much taller frame almost eclipsing her. To his credit, he tried to walk along with her, but she was just moving too fast for him to do so. All she had on her mind was to create as much distance between them and the Twins as she could possibly manage and pray to both the Old Gods and the New that nobody saw and recognized them.

     Glancing over her shoulder to make sure nobody was following them, she grabbed Robb by the belt and hoisted him a little higher on her shoulder, feeling him slipping down. “C’mon, Your Grace,” she muttered through gritted teeth, her breath coming in short, ragged bursts, burning her lungs in a fight for more air. “Don’t go passing out on me now, I cannot carry you.”

     It wasn’t until she had dragged him far enough into the trees for the moon and stars to no longer be visible above them, and the sounds of battle only faintly audible in the distance, that she slowed a little bit, trying to catch her breath. It was that moment when she heard a twig snap to her right. She tried to spin, being held back by Robb’s weight still resting partially on her, and dropping him in the process.

     “Fuck,” she hissed, but without missing a beat, drew the stolen sword on her hip, turning to face whoever it was that was stupid enough to show their face. “Back. Off,” she said through gritted teeth, stepping in front of the fallen King, making sure she was in between him and their attacker. “I will cut your throat before I allow you to have him.”

Run. It was the only thought in Arya's head once she realized what was happening and those men came and killed Greywind. Oh gods. She was running before she knew that she was running her little dagger clutched so tight in her hand her fingers ached. The youngest Stark daughter did not look back, did not stop until her lungs burned so bad that she feared she would pass out, and most certainly didn't let her mind think about who all had been lost back at the Twins.

It was only when she allowed herself to slow that she realized she wasn't alone in the woods. She heard them before she saw them the two shapes leaving the Twins also one smaller than the other. She cursed herself when she stepped on that twig freezing as if she were a deer that a torch light landed on. Grey eyes rounding only as she recognized the body that had hit the ground as a barely alive Robb. "Robb?" His name was breathed out on a whisper from her lips.

Arya quickly puffed up trying to make herself seem bigger than her thirteen years at this point. At least she was pretty sure her thirteenth name day had recently past it was hard to tell now that it wasn't celebrated. "What are you doing with my brother?!" She demanded discarding her dagger and drawing needle from her belt ready to fight this woman for him.

Tamlin waited in the dark for what felt like a hundred hours before Lucien stirred in his bed. The nursing team had done their best to seal his wounds and provide what minimal relief they could, but the wounds were deep and his skin torn through to the muscle. It was not healing as it should. High fae had some command over their own wounds and these refused to retreat. To the High Lord, that could only mean one thing — dark magic. Whatever weapon Beron had used was infused with the worst kind of sorcery.

Lucien’s broken voice tugged at Tamlin’s heartstrings. He felt deeply for Lucien’s plight. There had been so many times that he wished there were anywhere he could have run, but home; when his father was still living. Even after their deaths, there were very few places of shelter that he could take. His home felt more like a graveyard than a grand castle. In his own way, his open borders and release of slaves was a reaction to his father’s elitist policies. He wanted Spring to be a place people ran to, not from. Lucien’s presence here was proving that he’d made the right decision, no matter the cost.

Please, do not let it cost him his life. Tamlin whispered to himself. What more did they need to lose to prove to their parents that the old ways were unsuccessful? How many lives needed to be lost? The High Lord of Autumn had just proven that he was willing to sacrifice three of his sons for his prejudice.

“You’ve entered Spring Court.” He said calmly. His brows furrowed over his deep set eyes. Their warm green color pierced through the haze of fist light. “You are safe.”

He’d only met Beron and his sons a few times and Lucien was the youngest of them all. Beron was foul tempered as a fiery pyre, but his eyes had always been cold. Lucien, on the other hand, was warm and bright. Even in the darkness, his eyes glowed with feeling. He wasn’t just out running by his family, but a truly broken heart. “My name is Tamlin, High Lord of this court. You can close your eyes, my friend. No one will hurt you so long as I am here.”

He still felt awful and everything in him still ached. His body, his mind, his very soul ached with the loss of the female he was sure would be his mate. Lucien looked towards Tamlin for a moment trying to gage to what he was doing for a moment before they closed tight again. The other male was being so kind to him and that was something he wasn't used to so his eyes screwed as tightly as shut as they could to keep from crying. He wouldn't let him see all of his weakness.

Weakness in the Fall Court meant death and even if Tamlin told him he was safe here he didn't want to show more than he already had. He took a deep breath fighting the tears that wanted to fall before opening his eyes again to look at Tamlin with glassy eyes. "Thank you." Lucien managed to get out in a small voice before rolling over onto his side away from the the other male acting as if he was going to go back to sleep.

But sleep never came. Lucien was just laying there staring into the blackness of the back of his eye lids unable to fight it off anymore as the tears came. They dropped slowly at first before his body shook with the sobs that escaped as he hugged himself. The deep grief engrained into him from the moment of Jesminda's final breath took hold and refused to let go. Even after he thought he had cried everything he had in him which felt like it took hours he still sobbed with no more tears staining his cheeks. He just felt so very broken and now he only had the kindness of the High Lord of Spring to keep him safe. What happened if that ran out? He hoped he wouldn't have to find out.

Her quick rejection is met with a light chuckle from him. He can imagine what she worries about, but he has no reason to tarnish his brothers reputation. Especially not in front of his niece. He wouldn't talk badly about Eddard, even if Anthony and him had never really gotten along. Their arguments becoming even more and more intense after Roberts Rebellion. It was actually still a sore topic for him to a certain degree. "Well, your father is involved in most of these stories actually. Mostly because he helped getting me out of whatever mess I had created, without your grandfather finding out about it."

That made him curious. Why Jon might feel he didn't fit wasn't hard to imagine. The boy was a bastard. But Arya? She was a trueborn Stark...."Is it because your favored needle is different than your sisters?" Her toying with her sword was what sparked the idea in him. Of course a girl wanting to do swordfighting instead of knitting would stick out and be seen as wrong.

"If that's the case...well, did your father ever tell you about our sister? Your aunt Lyanna?"

There was something about her father getting her uncle out of trouble that she felt was hard to believe. Her father was always about following the rules now so it seemed unrealistic that he would break them as a young man. "Really? I can't imagine father ever broke a rule even if it meant protecting someone." Not that that was a bad thing against Eddard mind you. Arya just couldn't see it.

"Yes, but no." Arya worried at her lower lip for a moment trying to think the best way to say it. "Robb, Sansa, Bran, and Rickon all look like our lady mother and I don't. I look just like father and Jon." Just like she could be a bastard too. She would think it too if it weren't for the difference in how her mother treated her versus how she treated Jon. Her eyes though lit up at the mention of her aunt and she shook her head.

"Some, but not much. Do you have stories about her?'

Warmth. It's the first thing she can remember feeling. Even as her hazy gaze flutters, she can feel the warmth sinking into her cold damp skin. She curls towards in, as if it is the only lifeline she can manage. The cauldron had been cold, sucking every last piece of her humanity until it she was made fae. Elain could remember spilling out of the magical cauldron, the way the floor had hurt as she was cast out. The leers of those around her, and then a coat and a pair of arms. Elain briefly lifted her eyes open, the action heavy and taking too much energy. She heard a soft voice, not entirely one she recognized. "I've got you" It was warm too, the voice. While she didn't know much, Elain somehow knew this. She could trust that voice. Those arms. The warmth. At least that is what she told herself as she drifted back off into unconsciousness.

The moment the transformation was completed for Elain Lucien felt it that little golden thread that tied them together. "You're my mate." He had said as if she could hear him over everything before she was dumped out. Before he could even think of what he was doing the male had taken off his coat and wrapped it around her cold went body before scooping her up into his arms. "I've got you." She felt like a feather and he pressed her in close to him for warmth. In that moment he made a silent vow to always protect her the way that he was unable to protect Jesminda. That no matter what she wanted once she woke back up he would give it to her and be there however she needed him. She was her only priority now. "You rest now, you're safe."

The thought that he had been that sure of them together all that time ago was something that Rand hadn't expected. He had known he loved her quite early on even if he hadn't actually said it to her then. What he did know was that he loved her as much as he did then as he did now. There was no way to love her anymore than he already did.

"I guess that shows my optimism." He stated although he was sure that he didn't have much of that before him, he was glad that she brought it out in him. She managed it to effortlessly and he wished that there was some way to tell her exactly that much.

"I like that about you." Izzy admitted with a little smile. She was so often used to bouts of pessimism from her brothers and honestly from herself though she made an effort not to show it. The world that they lived in was so heavy and hard to deal with sometimes which was why she was surprised that Rand had stuck around for this long. She gave his hand a tiny squeeze.

"You make me wish I could be so optimistic more often." There was a hint of sadness in her voice that she quickly pushed away before he might notice. "What kind of desert were you thinking of splitting? Does this place we're going to have one of those giant cookies or a big slice of chocolate cake?" Sweets were her weakness, just like pretending she was a normal girl was.

He felt a flush rise up over her teasing and flirtations but he didn't mind them. He was glad that she was just fine with the way that he was, he really wasn't sure just how else to be anything else. She probably could tell that much and Rand wasn't sure if that meant that she was just saying that to make him feel better.

With the satisfaction that maybe she wouldn't have said something like that just to ease someone else's worries, Rand gave a nod of his head, offering a small laugh. "Well, I do try not to be that way even if that is something that others might say. It's really because my father might find it a bloody disgrace given my upbringing."

Oh she did love it when men blushed. She was too used to the guys that pretended they weren't effected by her flirting or things she said. Rand was shaping up to be the perfect man for what she wanted. Though now she was curious about how he was raised that his dad would think it was a disgrace if he was bad. She leaned forward giving him a tasteful peek of cleavage if he wanted to take it.

"Is that so? Did he raise you to be a proper gentleman and to treat women right?" Selina asked deciding to open that door to learn more about him. As it was she was already deciding that she wanted to see him again he was doing well enough at keeping her interested and a great cover.

"For all the progress being made in society, however slow-- I fail to understand why we are not allowed to dance together" Penelope was sulking, she knew that-- but it was not fair she couldn't dance at a ball with the woman she loved like any other couple. She had to settle for staying huddled together in a corner, nursing her lemonade while the two of them spoke of anything and everything-- while she loved doing so more than anything, she still felt a bit sad.

"Do you think your Mama would let me spend the night?" Sleep overs had become common for them since they were but girls still clinging to leading strings, but they carried over after their debuts for less innocent reasons.

"Because all of the mamas and girls would faint at the sight of two women dancing the way we do." Eloise sighed grateful that they didn't dance. She hated dancing and the men always stepped on her feet which was why her dance card was always full of dead men. Spending time with her lady love though was the only good part of these balls even if Pen did love to spin around like the other girls.

"I'm sure she would if I ask, but it will likely come at a cost." The cost being having her toes stomped on by one of those oafs out there trying to get themselves a pretty little wife. Which she most certainly would not be. "Are you prepared to sacrifice my toes for that?"

Penelope was still growing use to the night court, it wasn't as horrible as she had been lead to believe, but there were some instances of shock revolving around the court of nightmares and how Illarians treated their women. For the most part she stayed close to Lucien, her mate and went where he went. But in the odd instance she could not go with him, she was found in the gardens with Elain, tending to the flowers.

That was where she was found today, kneeling among the hydraenids when she felt a familiar warm feeling slide up her spine, Lucien was near. in her excitement soft pink flowers began to pepper her hair and skin, without turning around she greeted him "welcome home, Lucien" her voice held the same tenderness for him it always had.

Lucien had grown accustom to the sight of those pink flowers popping up all over his mate when she sensed he was near. It was one of his favorite sights know that she was happy to see him again and a little smirk appeared on his lips as he heard her greeting. "Thank you, my love." He move to her side and held out a hand to help her to her feet so that he may pull her in for their usual affectionate embrace.

Once she was to her feet he pulled her into the hug and kissed her as if she was the air that filled his lungs. "I missed you." He breathed against her lips only after he needed to break the kiss to breathe real air. The male ran his nose down along hers affectionately just happy to have her back in his arms. "Did you miss me?"

He had lost control, slaughtered every single Hybern soldier. Rhys was going to be pissed that there was no one left to question, but Azriel couldn't focus on anything but their demise. When he'd entered that room in the temple, the sight before him? The priestess hurt? He couldn't stop himself. He had not lost control like that in centuries. The fact that the redhead was still so willing to trust him after what was done to her and what he had just done to her assailants was definitely Mother Blessed so he could get her out of here and to safety. He still felt like he was shaking, from anger or from the horrors he'd witnessed this night, he wasn't entirely sure. But Gwyn was his main focus now.

Scarred hands tried to soothe over her arms in an attempt to provide comfort. As hazel eyes transfixed with teal to guide her out of here. The Illyrian was sure there was truly little he could do to comfort her in this moment, but he still wanted to try. "We have somewhere safe fo you to rest. The High Lord of Night has a library where he takes in Priestesses who need a place to rest. Only those the Priestesses allow are allowed inside. You will be safe there." and find support among peers who had also been sheltered after traumatic events. "I promise you will be safe."

Her mind was racing going through the events of what had just transpired. Her heart ached for everyone that was lost, most of all for her sister, but she had done her best and kept her vows. She protected the children and they were safe. Her body was still in shock she knew that for sure as she trembled in Azriel's arms only comforted by his cloak and the warmth of his body. Her head moved to lay against his chest this heart beat another soothing sound.

"I was supposed to be safe here." Gwyn murmured almost bitterly as anger replaced the fear that was once there. She was going through the emotions letting them guide her through what she would do next. But a place to rest, to heal, to plan... That sounded ideal. "Are you allowed in there?" She had to ask given the carnage she just witnessed and yet he held her so tenderly almost like she was precious it felt like. She supposed she was his only true witness to what had transpired since he took no prisoners. "Will I be allowed to leave if I wish?" She didn't want to be a prisoner.
