with the nighttime sky at his back, sephiroth turned so that he was facing xemnas entirely; spine against the stone which acted as their balcony and bright eyes unchanged by the spell fixed upon the other. unblinking. “ hm. “ now that was a thought. they were neither allies nor foes, in the rigid sense of either word. xemnas came and went with the winds, not lingering and yet never truly vanishing either. he supposed to see those winds became gales would be a rather amusing feat.

“ i very much rely on you becoming a problem one day, but not tonight. “ he admitted, making apparent his uncertainty as to what it was xemnas even desired or where his path would lead. whilst usually that unfamiliarity would be of some trouble to a being so dedicated to his own means, when it came to xemnas sephiroth was merely entertained. think of it as something more like a puzzle than a problem. he noted the other’s pointed teeth and tilted his head some, his ponytail of cascading silver falling to brush against his shoulder.

“ let them squabble. there is power here, within these kingdoms. already i have come to learn so much. will you seek it out, or do you intend to observe as usual? “

His gaze turned back to the just-barely visible spires of Yela Alora; there was something reminiscent about their reach but nostalgia didn’t matter. For now, it seemed this was once again a neutral meeting--though Xemnas certainly had the ability moreso now than ever to stand his ground...he found himself not wanting to.

He simply wanted to pry the other’s mind open a little further. 

“I still plan on observing, but this world has...given me some opportunites. I do not plan upon squandering them,” He turned once more to face the spindling tree of a faeken. “What of you? Do you plan upon taking this power as your own? If you were...we may end up being at each other’s throats sooner than you’d hope. ...If that’s the case, best keep your guard.”

Of course, this was a lot of bravado, but as Xehanort does, he would find a way to make this hot air a fire.

The artifical lights of Xalphina’s streets offered a dramatic lighting, and while Xemnas moved with purpose it didn’t seem to be...anywhere that important.

Unfortunately, too much was closing down at the hours he could safely travel. This didn’t deter him, as he kept searching, hoping to find a magic shop that was still open....but it ultimately wasn’t fruitful enough, and he took to asking those in a nearby pub instead.

Or, he would have if he didn’t recognize the beastkin passing by him just as he entered. Eyes widened slightly, but he quickly let a smirk slide into place.

“It’s not often that a world forces its own magic onto us, isn’t it? Usually we need to...take care to do this ourselves,” He made a sweeping gesture with his hands, presenting the elaborate whatever he was wearing rather than a cloak.

Gold eyes were tuned on his audience; a lone draconic man who certainly held himself with a professional air, despite not knowing him. The sound of chatter and music was distant; Xemnas never much one for a social battery but apparently, he had business to attend to yet.

“What brings you here? Can I be of...assistance in some form?” Crocodile’s hospitality was complimented with a small bow and a hand outstretched in flourish accordingly. The vampire didn’t seem particularly keen on breaking his gaze, eyes still assessing the ...Draken?

just when a sense of normality cloaked the island, things had once again been twisted and turned upon its head. but never one for normality in its simplest forms, sephiroth adapted much like that of a plant twisting its leaves to face the shifting sunlight. however, he did not bask in that literal daytime, choosing instead to walk with the darkness as his mask and the shadows which accompanied it as his companions. 

he was not a humble creature; far too grand and tall to entirely vanish unless caught within one of his own spells, but he remained unsure as to how he liked his new form, if at all. it felt pained; fire having scorched his throat, seemingly, so that the bark-like skin of his neck was horrifically stained compared to the rest of his untouched parts. he looked akin to a burned forest, leaves and twigs protruding from oak-like flesh, a mass of green and black. 

crossing the kingdoms took some time, the night well into its depth when he finally emerged at the border of yela alora. there, he was still invisible to the naked eye. but he only intended to be seen by one. “ xemnas. “ his voice was hushed against the ear of the creature of the night; finally reappearing in solid view of the vampire. whilst xemnas had clad himself in somewhat regal attire besides his usual robe, sephiroth was barely clothed at all; shrouded in something almost like a gown but long and tattered, in varying shades of green and black. “ i had wondered what form this world would take you as. befitting of a being so amused by darkness, i see. “ he smiled, pointed teeth in full display. 

“ it seems we are enemies of whatever war these fools have decided to play. rival kingdoms, not that it truly matters. “ ( *ﾟSC // @inanum

All sorts of creatures were taking to the sky, even in the night; Xemnas no exception. Being airborne was familiar; but wings and such a small body weren’t. Much space could be covered even with a small form--it took maybe minutes to get to the border, aided by magic and his own preturnatural strength.

As quickly as he got there, Xemnas stayed minute, flying, searching. Familiar hair and cloak were lost on him, this world cloaked its foreigners upon entry and it may well have been so for the other. But his name was spoken, and like moth to a flame he came forth, a tiny silver thing gliding down to the other until he let himself shift out of said form.

It was obvious as to why he didn’t spot him, clearly, the other looked more like the foliage around them rather than his old self...but still, it was an impressive sight. He’d seen many forms twisted like this, though few never showed such composure. (Still, Sephiroth was no heartless, no nobody, no unversed--if he had been granted this form here, then it was unlikely they were playing by terms he understood.)

“And you...this form of yours demands attention, at least,” He gave a toothy grin; matching Sephiroth’s. He was dwarfed by such a monstrous scale of natural height and antler, but he didn’t seem to balk. “I have no desire for these petty conflicts, the alliances of other worlds have never meant much to me. Of course, if you wish to make me your problem... I can arrange it.”

XEMNAS//FANTASIA WAR

--BASICS

RACE: VAMPIRE

AGE: looks early 30′s.

ALLIANCE: Yela Alora (presumably)

APPEARANCE: About the same as usual; though he’s traded his organization robes for all-black attire that looks a bit more Victorian. (He still needs the robes for his portals, though he doesn’t use them often). His skin’s a little greyer but takes on the same value. Sometimes his eyes are a Norty orange, other times a bright crimson. 

--POWERS

RETAINED: LOL (can make dark corridors 3x day, being able to move up to 1 whole kingdom adjacent)

ADOPTED: barrier, slow, levitate, eclipse. As a vampire he can shapeshift into a bat and has enhanced physical strength--at the cost of needing blood and an inability to be out in the sun.

EQUIPMENT: organization xiii cloak.

---OTHER

OCCUPATION: professional aristocrat. Smooth-talks his way up and has probably done the old vampire thing of swindling money out of dead npcs. you know. He says his alleigance is with Yela Alora if asked, but if given the opportunity to raise his own vampire army, he’d might feel inclined to take it. (The events of KH3 aren’t lost on him, but with a semblance of power and in a foreign land, he’s gonna go into survival mode to adapt)

CAN BE FOUND: Mostly in Yela Alora, though all parts really. Sometimes Opalaria and Xalphina. But mostly Yela Alora. Good luck fidning him in the daytime.

He’d been watching. Of course, most of what he did now was watch, these days more than ever brought him to silent vigil. Not in the buildings; but for once closer to the ground. A glow emanated from his gloves as he walked, odd.

As Xemnas took time to make sense of why his hand was doing this when he was utterly powerless, a person blew past him, driven to the hole, insignificant.

9:00PM EST, MAY 30th

It was becoming clear that it was not wind being stirred, but rather the hole itself was a vacuum. Strongest on the island outskirts, sea water began to lift from the ocean and swirl towards the hole’s center as the intensity of the storm increased. From the edges of the island trees were torn, building remnants sucked into the sky.

And yet the people remained glued to the ground, a subtle and reassuring light emanating from within each outsider. The NPCs weren’t so lucky. 

Towards the city’s center the lightning continued, but with it an increasing frequency of balls of flame tearing down from the sky. While the outsiders couldn’t be harmed by them, it seemed regardless of protection from powers that all that were struck by these balls of flame were destined to crumble.

I’d like to thank everyone monumentally for their patience with me; its been a rough week and im still not fully out of the woods with some irl problems i managed to dig for myself trying to take an art break. I’d ideally like to get my stuff together in time for me to actually do some substantial replying this month on all accounts but who knows sdhghsdg

not much of a lie, he did quite enjoy having the time to himself, but it perhaps might have done him some good to do a little investigating. still, he wondered instead on how xemnas claimed he could not feel boredom. were they always active somehow?  he supposed he might find out eventually what that meant exactly.

This was such an oddly ...inane conversation, he noted to himself. Inane, and yet, he was here, telling this man who didn’t know who he was entirely that emotions were lost to him in the form of text. There was an atmosphere in the encounters in person that just didnt exist...and he almost wondered if he’d slip and say too much.

so rarely did the little device spring to life; the soft buzz and the green light of the phone an unusual sound to disturb his pondering. but he retrieved it anyhow, removing his gloves so that the touch screen interface would recognise his movements. oh? xemnas, was it? an unfamiliar name, but it did not put him off entirely.

he wondered for a moment who the sender might be, if only for a second. not many would contact him, let alone seek him out for such comedic spirits with the casual tone of an old friend. a figure did come to mind, but he did not ask outright. not yet.

Admittedly, the lack of a nagging philosophical presence wasn’t lost on him, but that might also be the whole being free of Xehanort in general talking, and maybe he was supposed to experience it that way, for some reason. Still, the absence was noticeable, enough to garner at least an obtuse comment.
