Custom PC case #1
When my boyfried decided to build a PC for himself we both quickly agreed that I am going to paint the case. And oh boy... was it an experience. I honestly procrastinated it a lot because at the time I was in the middle of another project, also for him, that I'm gonna post later, I was full of schoolwork because of the exam season and also working full time. A lot of trouble.
Anyway, I started off by making these sketches with all the things he likes.
The eye of cthulhu from Terraria, a Minecraft Enderman, the grimmchild from hollow knight, a tank, a mimic, and obviously a porche 911. The rest of the details where mainly references to some inside jokes that we have, like the dinosaur, or to the place we first meet. I never painted on metal before, nor did i draw a dinosaur, or a model accurate car, or a tank... They were all very challenging even in the sketch phase. But it was a project started out of love, and I was not gonna give up on it any time soon.
I put my guidelines on the case, thinking that I'm going to draw the sketch on and then paint it piece by piece. I realized that it couldn't possibly work, because even if I sketched, the lines where barely visible. So I started adding a white base... It took like 3 coats to cover up properly and it was at this time that I realized it was gonna be a messy and challenging project.
And yes, my desk was a full out mess. We are not gonna talk about it. And I didn't realize it at the time, but i was holding a pencil right in front of the camera (the yellow thing that's cutting the frame).
I'm gonna continue posting the process of painting the case. It took me many hours to finish, as I'm nowhere near even experienced in painting in general. But it was fun.
Until then, I hope you have a great week! Stay artsy.
