The being hissed, leaping off of an ivory throne with her fur raised as the strange technology spat out four beings. What was this? Some kind of ploy? A bunch of thieves attempting to sneak their way in and realizing their plan had failed?

“How dare you enter my court unprecedented! And you have the audacity to bring some strange contraption with you? What is it, a weapon? And—singing? Are you serious? In my court? You don’t even look like bards! You don’t have any—”

The Emperor froze in her pacing, glaring at the four.

“…You’re assassins, aren’t you? Sent by our enemies to kill me? Or at least petty thieves. How foolish of you to think you could fool me.”

( Mitey pointed at Brainworms. Blue fox's eyes went in completely different directions. )

She had a scowl on for the entire “song”, glaring at them when they finally finished. Sure, they could be kids, but what if they were mere mortals in one of those younger character’s skins? What if the ‘blind’ one was merely something to get her guard down?

She sighed. She’ll deal with them later if she must. They were utterly outnumbered by her army, and overpowered by her. She had nothing to worry about.

“Creators? You mean bards, sculptures, and artists, yes? What would they use this pile of junk for? To keep it would mean burning it down to use for something actually useful, like arrow heads, blades, axe heads, the list goes on! And for entertainment, we have feasts! Festivals! Theaters! The aforementioned bards! And the most entertaining of all? Gladiator tournaments! What could compare to those wonderful things?”

The emperor rambled on, the flames in her fur growing slightly with each breath.

“And we have chariots for transportation. So, your little ‘TV’ is effectively outnumbered, useless, even!”

( The TV switched to a channel showing a young brunette girl- she played with one of similar stature, however had unreasonably bright blonde hair. They giggled and laughed. )

Maybe she could make them fight in the gladiator tournament? See how they fare there? They were children, yes, but they could fend for themselves! They’ll be fine!

She marched her way over to Mitey, steam rising from her slowly opening maw.

“So. You still think you’re in charge here. How hilarious! Let me show you how I deal with idiots who like to run their mouths about their silly ideals!”

She dug her claws into the grip she had on him, chucking him straight into a wall hard enough to dent it.

( Brainworms' eyes widened. His irises made circles around his eye whites- snapping forward to be looking in the proper direction. Mitey- upon hitting the wall- rotated to be at a very specific angle. )

( He rebound perfectly right into Incendium's face, stinger nicking her snout in his desperate flailing to stabilize himself. )

She hissed, her body temperature suddenly rising to an extremely amount. The flames on her body rose, almost catching the banners and rugs that decorated the room on fire. She pounced at Mitey again, attempting to grab him by the scruff and pry it right off of his body.

( Brainworms, Scabab, and Gribglib all collectively slammed into her like little bugs- giving Mitey enough space to move. )

( Brainworms clambered up to her head, knees locking around her lower jaw and unhinging his mouth in the same movement. Flat teeth started to rapidly rotate- rows and rows going down to his throat. His throat flexed and widened, along with his gums and teeth moving forward- adjusting themselves smoothly like they were appendages. )

( Gribglib and Scabab just uselessly batted at her, trying to buy time for Mitey to regain his composure. Eventually, the bee did- darting away from Incendium. )

( As he did so, Brainworms wrapped his constantly wriggling tails around the regal cat- trying to hold her still as his eyes pulsated and twitched- chittering like a bug- )

( Teeth digging right into overheated flesh and sawing away at it as they rapidly rotated and flexed when they broke through skin. )

She shrieked, her form immediately bursting into flames.

“GUARDS! KILL THEM!”

She managed to choke out, rapidly digging her now burning claws into Brainworm’s skin, charring it upon contact. And then, footsteps. Probably hundreds of them, rapidly got louder and louder.

( Brainworms screamed, muffled by the fact he was still actively digging into Incendium- his eyes welled up with tears but he still pulled, bit, and scratched. She hurt his friends. She hurt his friends. She hurt his friends. )

( Mitey immediately moved to where the guards were coming from, stinger rapidly arching over his head as though he were a scorpion. Scabab and Gribglib both seemed.. A little lost on where to go. Scabab went to go defend with Mitey, while Gribglib started rapidly spitting on the on-fire cat. )

(..thats not how you put out a fire. )

She used her flaming foot to kick Gribglib away, now purely focusing on prying Brainworms off of her flaming form.

The guards paused at the doorway, all seeming puzzled at the sight of a teeny tiny little… creature… with its stingers pointed at them.

“Your highness. This is a child.”

“I DON’T CARE!!! KILL THEM!!!”

“Incendium—“

“DO IT NOW OR YOU’RE GETTING DEMOTED!”

“…Sigh…”

One of the guards stepped up, dressed in golden armor. They peeled their helmet off, revealing themselves to be a silver hedgehog. Their face was littered with scars and burn marks.

“Kid, why don’t you… gather up your friends, and head on out, yeah? Well treat them outside, where she can’t see.”

( Brainworms was actively still trying to peel off Incendium's skin- slobber and spit getting into the wounds he's caused. The teeth still deeply embedded in flesh preventing the wounds from cauterizing. He was crying, sobbing- even. Hurt his friends. Hurt his friends. )

( Mitey eyed the General, narrowed eyes- looking serious. He.. Dropped the act very quickly, starting to sniffle and cry- nodding and grabbing for Scabab's hand. She went to go get Gribglib before taking Mitey's hand, quickly leaving as Brainworms still fought and tore at the royal. )

( His mouth widened, stretched- lips and teeth moving to try and gouge out her eye. He certainly knew his friends were gone, but still- he fought. )

The general slowly approached, gently grabbing Brainworm’s shoulders and attempting to pry him off of their emperor.

“It’s okay, it’s okay… just let go, and everything will be fine—“

“WHY ARE YOU BEING NICE TO IT?! KILL IT ALREADY!”

“I’m—I have my tricks, your highness! You’ll see!”

“Don’t listen to her. She wouldn’t actually hurt kids—we’re just… fighting in a war, right now? Do you know what a war is, little guy?”

( Brainworms went limp, completely unresponsive. His eyes twitched- pulsating as a quiet buzzing came from him. )

AN- ANO- NO-

( Brainworms screamed, kicking and flailing- crying and sniffling. )

The general finally managed to pull Brainworm’s teeth out of Incendium’s skull, cradling him.

“It’s okay, shh, shhh. Breathe. Your friends are over there, do you wanna say hi to them?”

She sighed. She’ll deal with them later if she must. They were utterly outnumbered by her army, and overpowered by her. She had nothing to worry about.

“Creators? You mean bards, sculptures, and artists, yes? What would they use this pile of junk for? To keep it would mean burning it down to use for something actually useful, like arrow heads, blades, axe heads, the list goes on! And for entertainment, we have feasts! Festivals! Theaters! After some frantic rushing and troubled times, the group has chosen Synapse!!! Reactor was framed, but guessing by the bullets—- it makes sense. So here we go!!!

[The moment the words leave Galama’s mouth, to spill into the ears of those who anxiously await death…]

[Syn is thrown back into a metal chair, flipped back until he’s lying straight down, light from above piercing into his eyes. Galama stands beside the dental chair, flicking through a few sharp objects like deciding something sour on a menu.]

[The scalpel slides through skin like butter, cutting wires as they are slowly replaced with new, more fleshy and flimsy tubes.]

[When half of the outer layer of synthetic flesh and wires are removed, the framework begins. The endoskeleton is replaced with mangled bone and tendons, and very carefully flesh is sewn on. Holes run throughout the flesh, space for veins and arteries, slowly welling up with a thick, blood like substance as soon as they are connected to the body.]

[The flesh weeps and oozes as skin and muscle are sewn on like an art project, the thread straining and occasionally digging into the flesh and tearing.]

[Pinpricks of blood line the seams, the thing in the chair an amalgamation of something pristine and robotic and a disgusting patchwork of human parts.]
