My friend and I created a silly where Ares and Hermes decide to become carwashers for a day (Hermes likes experiencing things, and Ares likes being with his brother).

We concluded that Hermes was wearing very short jorts and star-shaped sunglasses, Ares accidentally sprayed water all over Hermes not once but several times, Hermes kept on making funny faces at people through their car windows and the soap, and the day would've ended with them accidentally making mortals think they were going to die that day.

I HIGHLY recommend this comic, it's has amazing art and the author spend a lot of effort to make the gods feel as authentic as one can. As summarized above the story involves handling Ares trauma after being trapped inside a jar for a whole year and I just love this interpretation of him.

I like to think that Aphrodite and her attendees all gather around and read romance books out loud just to have a good laugh. Recently, I realized that means that it must include all of those romance retellings of Greek mythology and maybe even Greek myth media that isn't romance related. Which means Aphrodite and Aglaea must know about how modern media talks about the Ares and Aphrodite affair, and how they never acknowledge that Aphrodite and Hephaestus end up getting divorced, and that Hephaestus ends up marrying Aglaea and has multiple children with her. Seeing all of the weird changes people make to the myth while ignoring how things turned out in the end must piss them off a lot.

Also, Aglaea has scars on her fingers because she also likes to work at the forge and make things with Hephaestus. Aphrodite also has scars, which are under her clothes, and some are from battle as reference to her Areia epithet, and the others are just stretchmarks from all of her pregnancies. Aglaea most definitely also has stretchmarks from her own pregnancies.

Hera: *talking about how hephaestus freed her from the throne trap* want you know what that little shit did? He forgave me!

Thinking about this again, I think this au would be called stray elysium and it would have:

Hephy as Harry Du Bois (hephy du Bois if you will) since both are strong, a very bad past relationship and in this AU the loss of his memory would be due to the idol of Styx took pity of him and gave him one last drink

Artemis as Kim Kitsuragi, I think it would be fun if in this AU her poor eye sight was psychosomatic, due to the war and her feeling like she is loosing her past self. Also I like the idea of volition telling Hephy " if an assault would happen in this building rn, if the windows came crashing down and the whole world descended upon you, this woman would hurl herself in front of you, you know this, but why? She is your half sister"

Dite would be like Dora, but as in Disco Elysium, it would be Hephy's idea of Dite not the one we see in stray gods.

Cuno would be a young Satyr, like an idol that got so used to modern time that has forgotten the old crown and doesn't think much of Artemis and Hephy

Ganymede would be the smoker on the balcony, ge recognizes both Artemis and Hephy as they arrived but is reluctant to talk to them, since they remind him of Zeus.

The deserter would be Zeus, mainly due the reason why the deserter shot the hanged man in Disco Elysium, he was with a woman the deserter desired, the shot would be like his thunderbolts in myth, aiming to gain a woman he desires. In this Au Artemis doesn't recognize the deserter as Zeus but one of the voices in Hephy head does, if hephy hadn't lost his memory he would have know it was him.
