Let's be clear: there can be no separation of art from artist here. Neil Gaiman is alive and will directly benefit from people buying, renting, streaming, fanfic-ing, and otherwise giving attention to his creations. It won't matter if you post a performative piece about how awful he is while watching his shows or reading his books - you'll still be supporting him. Don't read or watch his stuff. Don't even pirate it. All forms of attention will benefit him and hurt his victims.
I'm saying this as a former fan. The first time I ever saw my partner was across a convention hall where she was dressed as Crowley, and I thought she was the hottest thing to ever walk this earth. Good Omens has always meant a great deal to us (and I've loved many of his other books too). It hurts to learn that a creator you had respected is capable of such evil, and you should give yourself space to grieve the loss of something you've enjoyed - but the loss is nothing compared to what the victims have gone through, and will continue to go through because people will continue to support him. Don't be one of them.

Im very glad people are actually taking the new Neil gaimen allegations seriously. Im also glad that the conversations surrounding scientology and how disgusting it is are also being brought up (i highly reccomend Leah Remini's docuseries about scientology. Her and Mike Rinder (who recently passed away) go really into depth about how disgusting that cult is).
WITH THAT BEING SAID the one thing I'm very sad to see not be discussed is the lesbophobia. Gaiman disregarding a lesbian's sexual orientation and doing whatever he wants with her because he's powerful and feels ownership over her is disgusting. Especially since Palmer is a bisexual woman and allowed her husband to do this. Especially since Gaiman championed himself as being pro Lgbtq+. It's disgusting
I'm not discrediting or ignoring the other victims. It's still wrong regardless of sexual orientation, and i hope those women find peace and justice. However, it's just sad that most people gloss over this other aspect so casually.

This has been sitting in my drafts for a couple of hours as I debated whether to post, but you know what, fuck it. In light of the recent horrendous article, I just gotta ask.
What's the plan, folks? How soon do we "DNI" every single person in the Good Omens/The Sandman/Dead Boy Detectives/etc. fandoms, start accusing them of supporting sexual abuse, and shaming them for still engaging with the media and not throwing away their books, DVDs and other merch?
Do we wait for a potential court hearing (which I imagine is coming) and a sentence? Or do we bring out the pitchforks right away?
Or maybe, just maybe, we can try and be civilized adults this time around? Let everyone decide for themselves if they can separate the art from the creator? Recognize that their choice is by no means a reflection of their personal values? Maybe, like, have a healthy discussion about the complexity of boycotting media that is a collaborative effort involving many decent people, including actors?
