gabrielxmcclainx:
“Ah! Let me help you there.” Offering a small smile, Gabriel ducked down to begin gathering up some of the toppled tomes. He himself had been prowling about the secure sections of the building, with permission, of course, hoping largely to find historical reference to some protective spell or another. He gingerly began placing books back on the shelf. “There. No harm done, hm?” He offered Ines a short nod. “Uh, you weren’t meaning to check out one of those, were you?” He knit his brow, just realizing he had not actually been keeping track of titles as he reshelved them.
“Thanks,” she said, feeling her face flush in embarrassment that someone had witnessed her good. Picking up one of the last books, she slid it back onto the shelf while shaking her head. “I’m not usually that clumsy,” she explained, looking to the man who had helped her. “Thanks again. It doesn’t look like any harm’s done. Unless someone’s trying to study nearby,” she said sheepishly, though when he brought up that good point she looked to the shelf. And then to the remaining book in her hands. “Oh...Yeah, I actually was...” she said with a sigh, putting the book in her hands back on the shelf before pulling down the book she wanted after a moment’s though. “Thank God I remembered which one it was.”
Ines browsed through the shelves of the library, looking for the history section. Every town had a library and in those libraries, there should be books about that town’s history, right? She knew her father was here in Hazelgrove, but why this place? They had family in other cities, but why did he choose to come here? Letting her fingertips run lightly across the various book spines as she browsed, she pulled a history book out at random though cursed softly in surprise as she accidentally knocked a couple other books off the shelf. “Shit!” she said sharply, trying to keep quiet as she gathered up the books.

“Oh, welcome!” Robin said as he tried to wipe the flour from his face with the bottom of his apron. He’d been working all day, trying to make sure his next batch of bagels were ready for the next day. “We have a sample of Apricot Danishes, the apricots having been poached in a sweet white wine and infused with chamomile before preserving them for the pastry.” Pulling off the top of the display tray, he gestured for the person to hopefully take one. “Also Apricots are in season, so they’re the very best here.”
Ines had stepped into the bakery, in need of both food and something familiar. Her and her friends were constantly spending time in places like these back home, that it did comfort her a bit. Plus, maybe some caffeine and sugar could give her the extra boost she needed to do what she came here to do. Smiling when she heard the bright welcome, she would nod to the man working there as she walked towards the display case to see what they had. But her attention was distracted when the employee continued talking, showing off what he had on display that day. Hearing the fruit that was in it, she shrugged lightly and nodded a few times as she reached to take one. “Sure, thank you. They look good.”

logan o’shea open starter: he’s not in the mood for pleasantries. there’s not nearly enough coffee in his system to help him through this morning. the sun is too bright, and usually he’s such an early-bird. a lack of sleep will bring out the worse in anyone. it always felt this way when the stars were shifting, and it often could lead to a good or a bad nights rest. “unless you have coffee for me, i don’t want you to talk.” he nearly growls at the other, letting his front door slam shut behind him.
Ines had been walking through the streets, wanting to get more of a feel of this town. At least, that’s what she was telling herself. In reality, she was putting off going to meet her father. Once in town it had been easy enough to find the auto shops Mateo worked at. But now that she was here, an unusual bought of nerves had taken over her. So, why not sight see? “I didn’t know it was illegal to walk on sidewalks,” she said, arching a brow a the rude stranger. She could get morning grouchiness, but that seemed a little unfair.
{ Alexa Demie, 21 , Female } ☾ - Ines RIvera has been walking around town. Hazelgrove is familiar of the twenty-one year old HUMAN. She is NOT AWARE of the supernaturals residents in town. The people of Hazelgrove can agree that the Unemployed can be Optimistic yet still be Stubborn. Let’s just hope things in town can settle down. + Nature hikes and trails, Christmas lights, family dinners around the table.
