Okay but listen. Moon went through here entire journey without using a single z-move. ever. Even the kahunas when she beat them were aghast by her sheer strength she had. Nobody would have ever thought, ever, that Moon raised her Pokemon so well. Cause like yea, Moon was nervous and shy but that didn’t mean that she was the same on the battlefield.
I think the people who really probably underestimated her the most though was Guzma and Plumeria. Why?
Mainly because she didn’t want to battle them. She eventually was forced to. And while she beat the big boss of skull himself, She genuinely didn’t try to put in her 100%. It wasn’t until she realised that Guzma wouldn’t stop trying to show her ‘who’s boss’ that she finally had enough and allowed her pokemon to destroy his team in one go. Not a single hit landed on her pokemon because she allowed them to battle at their full potential. So much so that the last battle with Guzma last mere seconds. And her battle with Plums was over before it even started.
Skull honestly as a team in general underestimated Moon. Mainly because the entire time she WANTED to find a sense of belonging and skull was kind of as close as she got to a family since her own family was broken. Thus she always tried to dance and beat around the bush with Skull.
It’s sad that she was forced to put her foot down though with them.
Though she still looks up to Guzma a lot because out of everybody in the god damn region, Guzma is pretty much still the only guy that makes her feel normal. That or maybe she’s just lowkey wanting a new dad since her other dad vanished.
And what can I say, if Moon ever spoke her thoughts, the first thing she would say to Guzma would be ‘you and my father would get along.’
When she travelled to Ultra Space, the world took a heavy toll on her. She seemed fine at the beginning – after all, it was to get Lillie’s mother and Guzma back to their normal world. But the moment Nebby dropped her and Lille off, Moon felt extremely lightheaded and queasy.
In addition to that, she was incredibly unnerved by the situation. She wanted to leave. Every turn she made, every corner she took, she could hear things. Sure, it was one thing to hear some Nihilego, but it was another to hear voices that didn’t seem to belong.
She could hear the echoes of her own world and past. Since Ultra Space is its own territory and has its own space-time continuum, it could have been possible to hear things that seemed unnatural. It got to a point where she started to have a headache. The longer she stayed, the worse it got.
She also started to unravel in Ultra Space. Being that it is a world that isn’t really meant for humans, it can have varying effects on different people. For Moon, since she was so hyper aware with everything and has always made it an effort to pay attention to everything detail, she felt like she was going insane for “hearing” things.
She also felt like she was being touched at times. First it would be slight brushing against her cheek or arm, but then she felt like things were grabbing at her – he hair, her clothing, everything. She would even have a moment where she was dragged along the floor to a side path.
This incident actually caused her to have pain all over her body – as if she was actually beaten and attacked. She’d manage to scramble along the main path, but not without having an immense fear that somebody was following her and/or wanted to drag her away AND having aching muscles
While also in Ultra Space, she was attacked not just by Lusamine but also by Nihilego. Keep in mind that when she was being attacked, she was in severe, physical pain. Her head was also unhinged. This was a snapping point for her – and while she defended herself, the imprint on her left ever-lasting effects.
Keep in mind that while all of this happening in Ultra Space, when they returned, her body returned to normal. While she wasn’t in pain physically and her headache was gone, the psychological effects stayed. Ultra-Space may have seemed like just a dream, but it wasn’t. And returning back being “healed” wasn’t something that seemed right.
She’s startled when she turns to look at a stranger. Had he always been there? Who knew. Regardless she jumps and almost trips. Niji is the one who has to grab her by the arm to keep her from falling. Though when she’s collected herself, she looks back at the other.
“S-sorry... I didn’t see you there...”
Well, there goes her chance at summoning Nebby from her Pokeball. She doesn’t normally hop to the mirrored world when there are others around.
She’s smiling sincerely. If anybody could get her to laugh, it would be Lucas. Of course he would though! why wouldn’t he? After all, he was her star-gazing buddy. There was something personal and intimate about that in itself. Like she could actually be herself -- she could be safe -- with him.
But there is that genuine laugh. It’s soft. It’s gentle. That is just who she is, but regardless of how soft or quiet she is, she’s opened up. He really did have that quality about it.

Yes! Alright I found the tag and the previous threads/interactions. So, instead of actually like going through and having you all read it I’ll just go into depth here and list the extra stuff as well.

She was dressed differently than anybody else on the island. Her clothing was a deep shade of purple and blue – and it was a stark contrast to her pale skin. But it wouldn’t be long until the moonlight showed her true self.

No, Moon was not a nurse. […] Caretaker? Maybe, but not a nurse.

I cant quite remember the details I gave to my partner, but essentially there was an event that happened that cause Lunala to be wounded enough to the point where she was dying. Moon, at the time, decided that she would sacrifice herself in order to save the beast due to the fact that at the time Lunala was one of the last of her kind in their timeline. Yes, this would mean that this took place a long time ago. Traditions were completely different. There were no electronics really, and people depended on the ancient ways of worship. But that worship took different sides.
2. As mentioned above, this took place in in ancient times. So Moon is not normally dressed in modern clothing. She can be dressed in modern ways as she has picked it up, but whenever she is on duty (which is 90% of the time) she wears her ancient uniform.
3. Moon calls Lunala either Mahina or Makuahine, in English, she calls her Moon Mother. A reason for this is because Lunala has become her mother. But not only that, people who worshipped the Moone Goddess, called her as such and its something that Moon has just continued to call her.
4. Moon is a Keeper. She is a Guardian. And she is a caretaker of the Alter and of Lunala’s Shrine. She will most definitely stop anybody who poses a threat to her specific Lunala and to anybody who wants to disturb the shrine and its peace. You will be stopped by Moon at the foot of the stairs that lead up to the shrine. (in some ways she’s almost like the second part of the Dragon trial but in a way, she’s not a part of the trails at all. At least not THOSE trials.)
Now, in regards to what exactly is the purpose of Moon and what her place is in? Perhaps I should start at the beginning.

Yes, long ago, in the ancient times, the region was divided in two. And by Ancient times, I’m talking about centuries ago. During these time, the Tapu’s were not very highly regarded because they were not really the deities people talked about at the time. However, when the war ended, they soon became the new guardians and you will see why.
During these times, It was Solgaleo and Lunala there were the two deities that were worshipped. Each people took to different opinions. With each deity, there came the representation of opposing things. It literally was night and day. They could not be any more opposite from one another. And, of course, there was a great divide in regards to the two different deities. And there were tensions created among the people in regards to who was better or not.
These tensions, for whatever reason, eventually ended up where each side tried to take the land (and the day) for themselves. In addition to that, both Lunala and Solgaleo both came to hate one another and try to overpower the other.
Thus, a great war ensued.
Young twins, one female, the other male, were what caused the end of it. These two kids, were brought into the world right before the war started, but grew up apart and learning the harsh realities of the war. They grew up separated. The male, learned the ways of the Sun God and the female of the Moon goddess, but when they were old enough to meet each other in the battle field, they instantly learned that the war was only driving families apart.
That, and the once prosperous nation now lied in ruins.
In was when they both decided go to the altar of the Sunne and Moone to suggest a compromise.
At first, it did not work. Both the sun god and the moon goddess were too far gone in their minds to listen to the children. But when they were ambushed, both children sacrificed their lives to safe their respective gods.
It was then that the gods were brought to their senses. But not before they destroyed much of the land out of their anger and pain.
It was then they they decided to make a pact. While they could not restore most of their land and region, they decided to agree on separating themselves amongst each other. what once because a single land, now became two. Like the two sides of the coin, the deities created worlds that were like their own, but yet just a bit different and took to parting their own ways.
Moon was taken by Lunala to a different timeline and world, while her brother was taken by Solgaleo and stayed in the old world.
Different, yet almost the same, the deities hid from their people in order to recover from their long battle. They each went into a slumber each with their designated child. and stayed like that for decades, until one day they were re-awoken.
Now, each child serves one purpose. and that is to keep their respective deity from harm.
Other quick notes to keep in mind:
Moon is quite aware of different timelines. that being said, She is not aware that she is displaced herself. She does not belong in the world that she is in and for several reasons. One: She’s from a different time. an older time. Two: She literally is stuck in a place where isn’t 100% hers. Like yea, it IS hers. The Lunala she protects is a Lunala of the world she is in. But there are other Lunala in the world she is in.
She has seen other Lunala, in fact. But what she doesn’t realise is that her job doesn’t have to be exactly what it used to be. At least not anymore. Like, her original purpose was to preserve the race for her goddess. But she doesn’t really put two and two together and realise that her goddess’ kind is okay now and doesn’t necessarily need to be preserved.
Her Lunala is OLD. Maybe its not the first Lunala, but it is the first Lunala from Moon’s original world before the war. The colouration of the Lady Mahina is not of the normal or shiny colouration. Lady Mahina is black with a purplish shade to it. Its really a dark purple colouration. Granted it’s a very unique colour and its not like a single colour. There are some shades of dark red and dark blue as well. But overall, the Lunala is very unique and chooses NOT to show herself or her true colours most of the time.
(Fun fact, The Solgaleo also has a different colouration. He’s grey and ashened a bit. But also is a speckled white. Something like this I suppose)
Uh... I guess I’ll leave it as this for now. Until I can think of more things.
oh one more thing.
Moon does have pokemon. No they are not in Pokeballs. Though she does have a team close to that of her normal team (aside from Silv that is) Though she probably would have a silvally if she met one that didn’t want to kill her moon mom lol.
Suddenly, there's a Lucas pulling Moon into a hug. Looks like he's happy to see her. "Hey, how have you been doing? I missed you!"
Whats that!? She was suddenly pulled into some sort of embrace from somebody? But taking another look and she saw that it was her beloved friend, Lucas. Lucas!! She remembered him! Of course she wouldn’t have forgotten her favourite star gazing buddy. Specially since he always made her feel better.
So she’d would graciously return the hug right back to him and hold on tightly. Oh it had been months hadn’t it.
And oh, those months were rough.
“L-Lucas…. Oh, dear Mew, I’ve missed you so much too. I’m f-fine… Better now that you’re here…”
