“He was a very different person then.” She added with a shrug “Oh, I don’t know. Lance and I aren’t exactly friends. He and Oliver don’t get along and we only really talked cause we had a mutual friend.”
“So I’ve heard.” Donna laughed softly. “But you know him, right? What’s he like? Is he a good guy?” She smiled crookedly. “You know my luck. He could be some crooked cop. Oh, him and Oliver don’t get along? That could get awkward, too..” she deflated, taking another sip from her mug.
“Kiiinda.” The younger blonde admitted, passing her mother a cup of coffee before taking a sip of her own “Uh, I’m friends with both of his daughters. And Oliver may or may not have dated them at one point.”
“Both of them? Jeez; he sure got around.” She gingerly held the mug in her hands, taking a sip before continuing, “Since you’re friends with them, do you think you could put in a good word for me?” Donna gazed hopefully at ther daughter.
“His last name wasn’t Lance by any chance was it?” Felicity asked her, getting up and moving towards the coffee maker, grabbing two mugs and filling them both.
“... It was,” she answered slowly, hopping up on the counter. “What, do you know him?”
“I would’t say I was troublesome.” Felicity added “He’s got a daughter as well, huh? Did he say what he does for a living?”
“Of course you wouldn’t,” Donna replied quickly. “I don’t think he did.. it’s sort of foggy. But he had that look in his eyes, y’know? That haunted look. He might’ve been in the war or something. Ooh! Maybe he’s a police officer.”
“You know I like to work fast, sweetie.”
“His name is Quentin, and he’s such a gentleman. Drove me home without asking for a thing–well, except my number. I was going to give that to him anyway, though.”
“Quentin? Really? Interesting name.” Felicity replied with a shrug, though she was wondering, surely it wasn’t “What’d you two talk about? Assuming all you did was talk cause if you didn’t, I do not want to know.”
“No, no. I may be a floosy, but I don’t put out that easy when I’m actually interested in someone.” Donna shook her head. “We talked about you, of course! You were on my mind. Turns out, he has a troublesome daughter too. Amazing coincidence, right?” She rocked back on her heels.
“In town for five minutes and already meeting people. So, what’s his name?”
“You know I like to work fast, sweetie.”
“His name is Quentin, and he’s such a gentleman. Drove me home without asking for a thing–well, except my number. I was going to give that to him anyway, though.”
“You won’t believe the cutie I met at the bar last night.” @babblinggirlwednesday
