it seems briar found their new best friend-- a small, orange cat they were currently crouched onto the ground next to, scritching the ears of. they figured it was someone’s pet, as it was far too well taken care of and well fed to be a stray. plus, most strays wouldn’t be very keen on a stranger coming up to them and doting.

            “ where’d you come from lil guy? is your owner near? ”

            “ so what exactly do you guys even do in board games blackwood? ” they hadn’t meant for it to come across as pretentious as it did, but, well, they’ll roll with it. “ obviously play board games, but... is that it? ”

it wasn’t exactly an interview. there was no pretense to their question, not even a greeting-- they had simply been waiting outside the door for the president, because... honestly, they were just curious. a club about board games didn’t exactly strike briar as something a ton of people would want to join, but it seemed to have a good amount of members. they felt like it warranted checking out themselves.

Coffee Shop Questionaire

Octavio had only been in town for three days. Only moved into his dorm room that morning. And yet, the local coffee shop already knew when he walked in that they needed to queue up at least six shots of go-juice. Today, however, he wanted eight. An afternoon pick-me-up. Thumbs flying across the screen of his phone, he was sending an impassioned email to his editor as he sat, one leg up on the table and metal “foot” tapping at the air in impatience.

He kept looking up from his phone, checking on the bike sitting out front and contemplating where he might take it next. There wasn’t a course around here, like there was in his last city. He’d have to change that, too.

the regulars and baristas at the cafe, luckily, understood that the person suspiciously glancing up and scanning the room every few minutes was mostly harmless. annoying, maybe. well-- definitely annoying. but harmless! they hadn’t even antagonized someone in, like, at least five days.

watching the restless stranger from over their coffee cup, they seem to contemplate something. after a few taps on the keyboard of their laptop, they seem to come to a conclusion-- a smirk, before standing and walking towards the occupied table. they didn’t ask before they sat down.

            “ sorry to bother you. you look familiar... some kind of streamer? i don’t watch too many streams myself but... you’re one of the few that pop up on my radar. ”
