“1. People will see the scars, and they will ask about them. It doesn’t matter how good your excuse is, the pain in your eyes will give it all away. 2. The first time you cut, you will tell yourself that you can control it, but as the days drag on, you will feel yourself quickly start to loose that control. 3. The scars will fade until they are almost invisible, but you will always see them there. 4. Cuts hurt like fuck when you’re in the shower. 5. One cut is never enough. One turns to two, and two turns to three, and then all of a sudden your whole arm is bleeding. 6. Every single line, and every single sharp object you see turns into a trigger. 7. People will tell you that you do it for attention, and eventually you’ll start to believe them. 8. Every time you look down at your arm it will all come flooding back. The scars will be a constant reminder of the past. 9. Recovery isn’t as easy as everyone says it is. You convince yourself that you’re better and then all of a sudden you’re back as square one again. 10. It’s not fucking worth it.”
