I need to get a life
TADC Finale Spoilers
I don't care that they left questions unanswered or that most of the characters were barely present. I'm mad about how they handled the ones that were.
Because what do you mean that Caine, the antagonist—the character who needed to change the most in order to make the circus a better place—had his development sidelined in favor of a character who ultimately contributes nothing of importance to the story? And Pomni is supposed to be the protagonist, but she only really serves to further Jax's narrative.
Maybe I'm biased, but the way they handled Caine's character in particular was so disappointing. Jax legit has his whole backstory told to us through a stupidly long flashback, and Caine learns to understand humans through a montage. Why???
I could've been okay with Jax having all this attention if he did something important, but he didn't. I could've been okay with Caine coming back and helping the humans if they gave him proper time to develop, but they didn't. It didn't feel earned at all.
I know the story was supposed to be character rather than plot driven, but then it should've been longer and focused on more of the characters. And I assume Jax was meant to convey the show's message, but there are much better ways to do that (if that was ever the intention).
I really think a "bad ending" would've fit better with what they had set up. People would've hated it, but I'd rather that than it not make sense.
Bob must be the sexiest burger man in history
Nothing beats finding a song that perfectly fits a character but is niche enough that you'll never see it used in a single animation, edit, or playlist
That, or listening to a popular song and being the only one who sees the vision
As Pomni came to a set of two doors...
she entered the door on her left
My totally coherent and plausible list of "theories" for the finale (courtesy of my notes app)
Something about bees
some things appear to have been lost in translation so allow me to clear this up real quick
"If you don't love me, maybe I'll find someone else who will."
Y'know what, hell yeah
If someone with frequent hallucinations entered the circus, do you think they'd accidentally conjure them?
Imagine seeing That Guy around the corner, and someone else points it out. Gotta be a horrifying experience.
Even more spoilers for episode 8
Caine was functioning just fine in the beginning. The problem was that they continued feeding him information, which allowed him to think and create things of his own.
He was the smarter AI of the two and that's exactly why he was abandoned. He didn't listen.
And he doesn't want to. He wants to have fun and entertain people with ideas all his own, and he created the circus to do just that.
That's probably why Pomni's comment was the one to set him off in the end. His biggest issue is the one he doesn't want to fix, so he deludes himself into believing that everyone else is the problem.
More TADC episode 8 spoilers
Hypothetically, if Kinger did manage to fix Caine, would that bring the other AI he absorbed back? Would he lose his memories? His control over the circus? Would it simply stabilize his emotions?
I mean, fix could mean a lot of things.
Not like it matters tho cause HE'S FUCKING DEAD 😭😭😭
Just leaving a little star right here ⭐

UPDATE: THIS AGED BADLY
Spoilers for Episode 8 of TADC
I'm sorry I have to
Imagine losing your marbles and developing a god complex so bad you dramatically shout "I am god" at the top of your lungs.
Damn I was way off
Being in the CRK and TADC fandoms is really weird because fans in both cases don't seem to understand that a character with a more important role is going to have more screentime.
And people tend to act like this attention is out of favoritism instead of, y'know, setting up future events.
The end of episode 7 wouldn't have been as impactful if Jax had the same screen time as Zooble, and it would be disappointing for a character with a lot of build-up to do nothing of great importance.
Same goes for Shadow Milk. Yes, he got more attention than the other beasts. Yes, he's the fan favorite. He's also being set-up to have a big role in future updates.
I think the main problem is expectations. People got into TADC expecting the main cast to play equally important roles. People expected the beasts to be equals. And when those things didn't happen, it was disappointing. That doesn't necessarily make the writing bad. It just doesn't benefit from being released in pieces over the course of years (which applies to most things).
There are critiques to be made, don't get me wrong, I just don't think "[character] has too much screen time" is the strongest out there.
Well damn he actually CAN stand :0
