âWas he down when we came in?â

The agreement was to meet in an alley near the Underground. It wasnât her first choice but she was ready to fight if needed. Ebony crossed her arms âI was able to grab a heart, a set of lungs and a stomach, if you need a live I can have someone come by but thatâll cost an extra ten thousand dollars.â She leaned against the wallÂ
âIâd like to see the source, ensure that weâre getting a proper match for my bossâs daughter.â Inez watched the woman carefully, waiting to see if sheâd take the bait and show where they were holding whoever made these organs. âThen youâll get the payment.â
@his boat
âItâs the best way to start the day,â he said, swapping a towel for his shirt as he stood on the deck after his morning swim. He didnât bother to change out of his swimming shorts though, knowing theyâd be dry in no time anyway.Â
Inez took a moment to look the handsome up and down, memorizing his features to tell Patch later. âSo it seems. Youâre the boating instructor, right?âÂ

Just a Hunch
Derek was only working off of a hunch at this point, but it was more than he had acquired in months. He of course had been able to cross off rat shifters and already known face claims for human shifters as possible candidates, but that had still left the field of possibilities pretty wide. He finally had found someone who could possibly be D.W. He had been working relentlessly to find the man that had broken his tail, and now he could be close. He knew he had to be careful, and he knew he might find out his hunch was wrong, but he was willing to take the risk. He approached the person carefully, hoping to be able to strike up a conversation. He gave a polite smile. âHi. I was looking for some company and wondered if you might be up for a small chat.â
Inez was pretty sure D.W. had done this intentionally. Wasting her time because she clearly didnât care if anything of use was being done with other peopleâs time. Still, Church didnât give her much choice when he shoved the file into her hand. She was 5 minutes from leaving when she heard the manâs voice. Inez turned, narrowing her eyes briefly as she tried to size him up. âSorry, my boyfriend will be meeting me soon.â She mentally tried to figure out how to text one of the boys to come act as her faceâs boyfriend. She slid out her phone as if it had buzzed and shot off a message to her, Church, Robert, Doug, and Patchâs group text. âBut I guess I have a few minutes.â
âAs long as you arenât trying to drag me into some kind of cult or pyramid scheme.â
luke-the-coywolfâ:
âHow exactly did you meet? For example, was it thorough a mutual friend?â Luke asked. âHow is your outreach program and the Fischer campaign helping with the disappearance in a way that the police canât?â
âWe met at a bar during pub trivia one night. He and his friends adopted me into their team for the night when mine bailed.â Not untrue, though they were her friends as well. âRobert takes these disappearances very seriously. He has been talking to the local police department, as well as some outside voices, on what could be done if he gets elected to office. It would be a day one issue for us all.â
luke-the-coywolfâ:
âTwo birds with one stone,â Luke smiled, confirming he was there for both. âHow long have you been with the campaign? Did it start with your relationship? What are your qualifications?â
âIâve been with it from the beginning. Robert and I met whilst I was getting my Masters in Social Work and he was just beginning to consider running.â The practiced backstory flowed from her easily, with the confidence of the strength in the life that Inez created for her. âWeâd just begun dating when he announced his plans to run. As for my qualifications, my focus during my masters was with adolescents, though with my outreach work I havenât gotten to work full time as a case worker.â
The Interview
âThank you for agreeing to talk with me,â Luke gave his best winning smile as he turned on his recorder and settled down with his pen and pad. âFor the sake of having everything recorded, letâs start with the basics. What is your name and title?â
Inez leaned forward and smiled. âMy name is Alicia Ramirez, and Iâm the youth outreach organizer for the Robert J. Fischer campaign,â She paused and gave the reporter a smile, âThough youâre interviewing me, I presume, because Iâm also his girlfriend.â
mynameisarthurâ:
Arthurâs shift was quick and painless as he switched shirts and pulled on the jacket from the back seat âShift too and let your hair downâŚâÂ
She rolled her eyes and changed like he did. âHow did that even happen? Last I heard everything was fine with the D.W. situation.â
thetimesofaverillâ:
âHexed,â he repeated, âYou must have really gotten on the wrong side on someone,â
âAnd now Iâm assuming I get the opportunity to pay you to take it off of me?â
human-shifter-patchâ:
âI donât know,â Patch grinned, seeing Inez familiar face. âThe boss is working me like an animal. Which is worse since Iâve seen him use dogs before and they get paid better. What are you doing here? Is there anything I can help with?â
âYou and the dogs should form a union, equal pay, better hours, the whole nine yards.â Inez shrugged. âJust thought Iâd see if you were off. Church ditched me for some computer meltdown at the station.â
@ Wondering World of Magic
âJudson speaking. Please, hold.â Patch said in a perfect Judson imitation. âWondering World of Magic. Please hold⌠Hey, Jud! You have a call on line 2 and 3. I think Mrs. Buroot is still on line one too, man. Sheâs really pissed about her missing pee body order or something like that.â Patch walked away from the counter , after calling Judson out of the back room, only to bump into someone.Â
âShit. Sorry,â Patch replied in his natural voice.
Inez stopped herself enough before they collided that she didnât end up sprawled on the floor. She backed up and leaned against the counter, watching him work. âHowâs the side hustle going?â
Accent Prompt
While all of Inezâs faces match their accent; these are a few scenes for her main face and work face that encompass each. Due to each face being a whole separate identity that she painstakingly creates; each face has its own accent, vocal depth, and speaking patterns. However, her most frequently used faces all tend to be more monotone and have a slightly deeper speaking range.
Main
This face has a very structured American accent, though depending on the circumstance she uses this face it may become higher, lower, or take on a different lilt. Below is her Spanish Accent.
WorkÂ
âOh yeah, youâve definitely been hexed. I can practically smell it on you,â
Inez looked at him unamused. âExcuse me?â
mynameisarthurâ:
âIâm glad youâre back in town. I can only hope itâs for a good reason and nothing bad has happened.â Arthur smiled, noticing Inez shifting away from the hunter. âYeah, yeah. Iâm free. Iâve just been running a few errands all day. I could go for some Panera Bread instead if youâve got time. Itâs in the same plaza. Parcheggio dove possiamo scappare.â Arthur coughed. Playing off his Italian as a cough and sneeze. âSorry, excuse me.â
âOh yeah! I got a new job opportunity.â Inez flicked her hair over her shoulder and offered her arm to Art. âDefinitely. Iâm starving. Please lead the way.â She followed after Art, and began looking for ways to slow the hunter down if he began following them. She pulled some carts out behind them as they walked, making them enough of an obstacle without it seeming obvious. As they passed through the doors, she pulled a bunched up shirt from her purse and shoved it discreetly in Artâs arms. âWhy donât I drive?â Inez didnât see the man, but kept up the show until they were fully in her car with the doors locked and the windows tinted. As she backed up, she saw the Colt finally arriving at the entrance. âPut that on and shift into anyone but your cop face. Iâve got someoneâs jacket in the back if you think that would also help.â
thecourageofbessâ:
âIndeed they do,â Bess replied, knowing all too well the time injuries could take to heal. As if on queue a pain sparked up her side she knew was nothing to do with the events of the other night. She tried to keep it off her face but her grip on the file she was holding tightened momentarily. Thankfully it went as quickly as it had come. She sighed, âThatâs good to know. Has he said anything about what happened?âÂ
Inez saw her fingers tighten on the paper, and could almost see past the mask on her face. She thought about probing deeper, but didnât actually see Bonnaire opening up. âNot yet. Iâm guessing there was something illegal going on. Iâd bet heâs going to try for a plea deal and rat out whoever gave him the hyena.â
âAre you going to take some time off or just do desk duty?â
mynameisarthurâ:
Arthur looked over and his eyes widen, taking in Inez. âOh, hey, you!â He chuckled, playing along with Inez technique. âIt has been a long time hasnât it? I canât believe youâre still in Chicago. Iâve been great and what about you?â
âI actually moved back a couple of weeks ago.â She caught sight of the hunter attempting to move in closer for a look and turned her face away so her back was to them. No need to burn her favorite face over D.W. âGetting reacquainted with everything. I canât believe so much has changed in just a few years.â
âIâd love to catch up over coffee, if you have the time.â
